I leave tomorrow to fly to Florida for the Saturday Cruise. What am I forgetting?

I have my cruise documents, everyone's birth certificates and both DH and I have our driver's licenses.

I think that fact that a cruise is one of those you need to have it with you or you are out of luck things is causing me to freak out now.

Am I forgetting something I should be bringing with me?

Don't forget.............

 YOUR SANITY

Keep those documents in your purse and you will be fine. I was absolutely obsessive-compulsive going out the door the day before, in the car, at the airport, checking in to the Raddison, etc - I kept reaching in, and checking to see that I had all 3 birth certificates with me. I figured just about "anything" else we forgot, we could replace - but not those!

Make sure you have plenty of high-level sunscreen with you. The other thing you cannot forget is to put this on - and remind everyone else in your family. We made it a habit just to apply it in the morning when we got out of the shower. We then applied it several times when we were on excursions, on Castaway Cay, etc.

Here is what I do so that I can control my OCD urges with respect to the docs:

I bought a Portfolio that is intended to hold passports, tickets, etc... You can get one at any luggage store (mine happens to be from Lillian Vernon). They make some that are specific for cruises. They room for everything -- I can put all 3 of our passports, etc.. into mine. I slip that into my purse with my wallet and NOTHING else goes into my purse to distract me. I then put my purse into my backpack so that I only have one thing to carry - my personal paranoia is that I will leave one thing or another behind. When I arrive at my destination, the whole portfolio goes into the safe in the hotel room, and then I don't touch it again until the night before we leave.

I love this little thing, and it saved me so much worry over the years!

Thanks so much for the portfolio tip, mcnuss! I liked it some much I just bought one online! It's the Document Organizer by Lewis N. Clark :D - got it on eBag.com for $8.99! Today they are offering 10% off all purchases and no shipping charges (and if you do MyPoints, you can get points, too - yippee!)

Finally a way to keep all those pesky yet vital things together! Thanks again!

Don't you need to take out those papers for every island you visit? I would assume you can't leave them on board; you need them to get back on ship! If you did leave them in your safe in your cabin, they would sail away and leave you stranded!

Just a thought....

We have not cruised yet, so I am not sure. I was speaking from my previous experience with my handy-dandy portfolio. The last cruise I took was not Disney, and I never needed them. We went to St. Maarten, St. John (which is USVI) and Puerto Rico (also US). This cruise, I obviously will not need them in Key West or CC, but I don't know about GC or Cozumel. I guess I will find out when I get there. Regardless, I would only be taking our passports out, all the rest would stay locked up.

When I cruised on NCL in Dec to get on & off at the ports we needed to show the NCL boarding pass and our drivers license. Does DCL do the boarding pass?

Isn't the KTTW card your boarding pass?
