We are flying from Belfast to Newark with Continental, we can get transfers from Newark to Orlando with them but what other carriers can we choose from?

Bouncing this up for you.

Are you looking to fly direct, or would you be open to changing planes somewhere? If you're willing to change planes, pretty much any major airline would be an option.

If you want direct, I believe Delta flies from Newark to Orlando as Song. United or American might fly direct EWR - MCO, but I'm not certain.

Also, are you going to be in the NYC area for any period of time before going on to Orlando, or are you going directly to Orlando after arriving at EWR? If you're going direct, it would probably be more convenient for you to take Continental the whole way. At the very least, you wouldn't have to worry about getting and rechecking your luggage.

Aside from CO, the only other airline that flies non-stop to MCO is Song (operated by Delta). Any of the others will have you connecting thru Atlanta, Charlotte or Dulles.

If you are heading to Orlando direct from your arrival at EWR, CO is your best bet. You won't have to worry baggage transfers. If you are going to in the area for a few days, Song is the way to go. Granted they only have two flight a day, but they are a great airline to fly on. Much cheaper then CO also.

Welcome to NJ. It's officially mud season.

If you don't mind flying into Orlando/Sanford instead, you can also try SouthEast Airlines. It is called FLYSEAL.com. They are a charter airline that usually has rates of about $49-$59 each way. Just and FYI.

If you're going to be staying in NYC for a night or two you might look at JetBlue. They fly from JFK. You have to go to their website. Buses run from EWR to JFK but I wouldn't start my trip that way.

I agree with previous posters, if you're flying direct stay with Continental if at all possible.

I just went to flyseal.com to check out fares and I saw a notice that they suspended all flights back in the fall.

SOUTHEAST AIRLINES

Southeast Airlines suspended airline operations on November 30, 2004. No flights are scheduled to operate. We apologize for the inconvenience this has cause to our customers, vendors and employees.

We sincerely thank all of our loyal employees, customers and vendors for their dedication, support and efforts.

As for checking your bags the whole way, you will still need to go thru US Customs upon our arrival in Newark. For the flight back to Belfast, you would be able to check your bags straight thru.

Pumpkinboy - Thanks again for the info, I spoke to Continental and they said I would have to reclaim them in Newark. At least we can check them the whole way through on the way home....that's when they are heaviest after all the shopping in Orlando :teeth:

One MAJOR advantage to flying CO is that they have more flights from EWR to MCO (and combinations of them) than anyone else. So if there is a delay or cancellation, you've got a good chance of being rerouted and arriving close to your original time. This isn't going to happen with smaller carriers.
