What airline do you fly on?

Yes, the bag fees on AirTran will be a thing of the past now that SWA owns AirTran.

Also, SWA will be flying from many more cities, including Atlanta, in the next 18 to 24 months.

There will be no Air Tran eventually. They will probably operate as is until they are phased out.

You need to look at the total package. Bags may fly free on SW but if they cost $100 more what good is it?

I normally fly Southwest whenever possible, but am flying Delta this trip. The better flight times lured me away from Southwest, even though the fares were slightly cheaper.

Usually Delta. We would fly SW but it doesnt really fly out of DTW. Never ever Spirit... we have a few times and they are absolutely horrible.

Love Southwest, bags fly free, no fuss, laid back flight crew, great ontime record, and lets' face it they're cheap.

I flew jetblue once and I do have to say it was very nice, but they no longer fly out of my airport, so I'll stick to SWA.

We live in Des Moines, with not very many options to fly on. Last year we flew Airtran, and that was no good at all. We generally fly Southwest out of Kansas City, even though it's a 2.5 hour drive. However now that Southwest bought Airtran, I can happily say next year I can fly Southwest out of Des Moines, can I get whoop whoop?

Continental out of Newark Liberty, always. Their flight schedule works for us and they're direct to MCO. Also, I have a Continental master card so pay no baggage fees for the 1st checked bag for everyone on my reservation. Got a fairly decent price of $1027 rt inc. taxes and fees for five in October.

We are flying Airtran for the first time this Friday. Last October I scooped up our tickets at $77 per person each way. I looked at the same flights today and the flight down is going for $249 and the flight home is $363 per person. Makes the $20 checked bag fee a little easier to swallow since we'll only have 1 bag to check.

US Air. DH is a proffered member because he travels so much for work, so our bags are always free and we can always choose our seats w/o a fee.

Southwest. We live close to Baltimore, a SW hub. Lots of direct flights, not just to MCO but all over. We flew non-stop to California last year. I HATE lay-overs!

I chose Continental for our flight because it was the cheapest direct flight with the best hours. SW and Jetblue was almost $500-800 more so if we can do with 4-5 carryon's for free and pay for 1 suitcase it still saves us tons for family of 5. Total was $807

We always fly Continental from EWR direct to MCO. Never really had any issues. Once we were lucky enough to book first class for coach prices!

This time I think we are driving. No cheap flights out of EWR.

Right now its just under $400 pp and we need 4 tickets! Not including bags!

We have done direct flights on southwest in september and jet blue in january. Jet blue is by far the better airline. Newer planes, TVs for each person, bigger seats. Unless southwest is cheaper there is no advantage to it over jet blue. Our jetblue flight was delayed on the way home due to mechanical issues with the plane and when i got home in my email was two $25 vouchers for our next flight because of the inconvenience! If southwest was cheaper i would do it but if jetblue was within $10 per person each way I would spend the extra. From what i can tell though jetblue seems to be the same or cheaper than southwest from here (buffalo)

Southwest or JetBlue if they go where we're going. Free bags are great. JetBlue is better than Southwest, more comfy seats. However, this time we're flying Alaska Airlines because they offer the only nonstop flight from Seattle to MCO and we hate layovers.

We fly American. I have frequent flier status so I don't pay for bags anyway.

There is no Southwest where I live. :headache:

Another Southwest. The prices are generally good, and with a family of 7 it sure beats not having to pay for our luggage. If we had to add luggage costs, it would easily cost us another $400 or more to our ticket price. :)

Whatever is the best combination of price, directness, and times of flights. I wouldn't just pick the cheapest flight because that could be the one that leaves at 5 a.m. or has 2 plane changes.

Currently, SWA and AirTran are running as individual airlines. AirTran is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of SWA. They are not flying under a single operating certificate.

In about six months or so, SWA and AirTran will start to combine flights and they will be one company in about 18 months to two years.

My choices are limited flying from a smaller city so I can use American Airlines going through Dallas or Continental or United going through Houston. I prefer the Houston airport and the cost of Continental is usually the better price. Southwest flys out too I think but I have to have an aisle seat and prefer the wing so I choose airlines that assign seating. I've flown American and Continental and like them both but I prefer Continental. No particular reason except I like Bush airport better. We don't have Jetblue and I hear so many positives about them.

Continental. Live in a hub-city (CLE) and can get numerous direct flights. Plus, the customer service is usually A+.
