What actually can be posted on the CB??

I don't think it's a big deal, browneyes. All I see is people wanting clarification what is and is not CB-able. It would be nice if that answer came in a nice manner instead of snippy comments though. But that's just me. "Because I said so" doesn't work on my DD, I doubt it will work on a bunch of adults. (Even if I am a guest on someone's elses board, I think we all deserved to be treated with respect.)

I guess I see it the same way. I figure that many of us are probably curious what is allowable and what isn't... not that I start many threads, but on the rare ones I start, I guess I'd like to make sure I am okay with what I ask/say and where :)

I guess I don't see it as that difficult to understand. Regardless of what our preference is, if there is a specific board for a certain topic then it seems that they want us to post the thread there. I don't find it that surprising that some posts slip through the cracks or even that lots do.

I also don't think it is a similar situation to a parent/child-- at least I don't want to start calling Alex or Pete, "Dad." LOL

Dan... march of 2001 was over 2 years ago... A lot has changed since then..
In march of 2001 there were 26,000 posts on all of the boards. Last month there were 158,000....
Things move a lot faster now, that is why we had to split off the congratulations threads and birthday wish threads etc and move threads that were off topic.
It has been going on for a long time and nothing is changing. There isn't anything to worry about and this is old news.
As a matter of fact, later this evening we are going to move a couple of other boards around, but I will keep that a suprise :)

"Dad" I'm not to fond of surprises can you give us a hint? Pretty please(and that is said in my most winiest of voices);) :p

I see. And, as always, being a team guy, I'll start working that 'report thread to a moderator' button more often, we should be able to slow this board down a bit.

And an error on my part. It was '02, not '01 when I resigned.

sure...the hint is go to the home page in a couple of minutes :)

Well Dan then the appropriate numbers are 73,000 posts to 158,000 posts, it's still more than double in the last year.

ok "Dad" its been a few minutes I looked and don't see anything different. I think you all are trying to mess with me eyes/head tonight. Binny did this earlier.:p

I'm watching for this hint too.

Dan, I was confused about the 2001 date. I KNEW that it couldn't be that long. Still a sad day though. :(

I've been wondering what was acceptable on the CB lately too. For instance I posted this on the operation enduring freedom board today because I was afraid that since it was somewhat military related that it would get moved if I posted it on the CB.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=361981

But I really wanted to post this on the reg CB because only a few people visit the sub board and I wanted to tell more of my CB friends about what is going on with Ashli right now. I didn't really state it but I was kinda looking for some help in what to say to Ashli to help her through this hard time. I would have appreciated being able to get more imput which posting on the CB would have given me.

I am so confused right now. I guess this is one reason I lurk most of the time and avoid posting.

The question asked was: "What actually can be posted on the CB?"

After reading four pages I didn't really see any answer? I saw some what NOT can be posted but still looking for what CAN be posted???

I guess the moderators haven't seen the "I have not been hit by the tag fairies yet" thread on the RESORTS board.
It's been on page one since April 7th.

From what I understand, we can't report a thread to a moderator just because it's in the wrong place, is that correct?

It really is pretty simple. If you are posting something like "I want to stay at the AllStars anyone have any experience there?" It is really not a CB question but a resort question. Then you should post it there. If you are asking about a diet or receipe, then go to those boards. It really is simple, if you think about it.

Dan, if you want to report posts to moderators be my guest. I know I do not LIVE on this board and neither do most of my co-mods, we actually have families and lives. The DIS is fun and entertainment, it is a place to come to and have fun. I do what I can while I am here, and enjoy those who also want to come here and have fun.

I just wish everyone would think of it that way, and stop looking for things to complain about. We really all have a better time when there is not so much moaning and groaning. It really does not accomplish anything, and it only serves to create a negative atmosphere. It just seems trivial with everything happening in our lives and the world, that moved posts would be so important.

Good morning all. Yikes..I go to bed at night and look what happens. A question for you all in the know....How many of us here actually spend a fair amount of time over on the other boards?? I know that I used to start on the resort board and then come here to CB last. Now, that's changed and I come here first. So, if I have a question, say about a particular something in WDW, if I ask it on the correct board, what are the chances that someone from here, who's opinion I value, will read it? Now, I'm not saying I don't value other opinions, it's just that there are some people that I've run into here on the CB, that seem to have the same likes/dislikes that I have. Or, am I just as liable to find them over on the 'other' boards? BTW, thanks Alex for taking care of the boards. You and all the other mods do a terrific job. Yeah, I know, but a little kissing-up never hurts.
