Weird question: are the bottoms of the pools at the resorts and water parks smooth? Or will my daughter need swimming shoes?

We have stayed at Pop, ASM, and the Fort. None of which did we wear water shoes. Oh and the water parks we didn't wear them either.

So no scrapiness? That's good to know. We stayed at a hotel a few years ago and after an hour in the pool, my son's feet were raw, so I had to ask. :confused3

I'm quite sorry to hear that! That must've been horrible!!

Still, just think about it, Disnet would probably not do that ;) Family friendly, may I add... Expensive! Anywho ;)

It was. And for the rest of the trip, no pool for him. :sad2: It was a pretty expensive hotel, but yeah...I expect better from Disney. :cloud9:

The pools are usually smooth, but the bottom of the wave pool at Blizzard Beach is a bit rough. I still have a mark on my elbow from when a wave pushed me into the shallower end. Im not sure about Typhoon Lagoon, but thats the only place i can remember a pool having a rough bottom.

We experienced the same thing at Blizzard Beach last year. I wondered if it was just because my feet were sore from all the walking and the heat. But the wave pool does stand out in my mind!!
I don't remember the pool bottom at POFQ being rough.:thumbsup2

The pools are smooth! If you plan on going to a water park (Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon), I would suggest bringing water shoes. Last time I was at Blizzard Beach my feet got a little raw (not badly though!!). Have a great trip! :)

Thanks, guys! :grouphug:

Okay, we are going to BB, so I'll make sure both kids bring swim shoes then.

Typhoon Lagoon's Wave Pool.....quite rough....bring the water shoes.
We always do.

blizzard beach is just plain PAINFUL, i would really recommend water shoes.
but POP and Boardwalk are really smooth, at least i dont remember having problems with it.
