The pools are usually smooth, but the bottom of the wave pool at Blizzard Beach is a bit rough. I still have a mark on my elbow from when a wave pushed me into the shallower end. Im not sure about Typhoon Lagoon, but thats the only place i can remember a pool having a rough bottom.

We experienced the same thing at Blizzard Beach last year. I wondered if it was just because my feet were sore from all the walking and the heat. But the wave pool does stand out in my mind!!
I don't remember the pool bottom at POFQ being rough.
The pools are smooth! If you plan on going to a water park (Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon), I would suggest bringing water shoes. Last time I was at Blizzard Beach my feet got a little raw (not badly though!!). Have a great trip!
blizzard beach is just plain PAINFUL, i would really recommend water shoes.
but POP and Boardwalk are really smooth, at least i dont remember having problems with it.
