What about additional towels?

This may have been answered before and, if so, couldn't find it.

Read you receive a bag with towels in your stateroom for use outside the cabin as towels are no longer available at the Castaway dock like they always were.

Is there any place on the island you may get additional ones?

Thanks.

If you are talking about the Dream, I am not certain about this new bag idea, but on the Magic a few weeks ago, we used ship towels on all our port excursions, not just Castaway Cay. It was super easy - I just went up to the pool deck after our show each night before port and loaded up my beach bag with clean towels. I assumed I'd be bringing them back on each day and putting them in the dirty bins on deck 9 but I never had to as there were always CMs waiting right at the port to take them off my hands..

OP is the first I've heard of this. Perhaps someone who has cruised in the last week or two can tell us if this is for real. Seems to me that it's harder for the crew to deliver a bag to each cabin than to roll a couple bins off the ship!

hi
sailed on the feb 6th dream cruise and yes they did deliver a red mesh bag with 2 towels in it ...no towels when we got out of the ship at CC ..so I guess bring the bag with you or else while at CC you will not have any towels if more is needed do as a PP said go at the pool and grab 1 or 2 more:)

On Magic last week the crew were handing out towels on the dock as we disembarked on CC. Never saw a bag handed out but there were always fresh towels available on the pool deck as well.

Yes on our two Dream cruises, they had the red mesh bags with towels in the staterooms for both the Nassau and CC stops.

To answer the original question, there were not any spots on CC for you to get extra towels. You'd either have to let your stateroom host know (one stop we did have 4 towels in our bag instead of 2 -- don't know why we didn't ask for it) or as others have said, pick up extras up by the pools.

Thank you for your replies. Would seem getting this bag of towels is at least the case on the Dream right now.

Kcashner: I agree with you it would seem easier to just roll out the bins of towels at the dock but perhaps it has something to do with the increased # of guests on the Dream.

Thanks to you folks we'll be sure to pick up some extras at the pool the night before Castaway.

With appreciation.

Yes, it is true for the Dream....they now put a red mesh bag in your room with two towels in it....they ask that you bring the bag to CC and then return the bag with the towels to your stateroom.

To me it is wacky....why do I want to bring a sandy towel back to my stateroom. They still have the towel bins set up on the beach for dropping used towels so we used that and just took the mesh bag bag to the stateroom.

No more carts with towels on them at CC when you leave the ship. I am not a fan of the new system.

My guess is that there are many towels that aren't returned after port excursions. With the red bag people are going to be concerned that they will be charged if they are not returned. Perhaps this is something DCL is considering. Just a guess.

Also I have seen people grab many more towels than they really need. Then just dump the clean and dirty to be washed when they return. Really wasteful IMHO.

And there are those, that leave them on the chairs at Castaway when they go back to the ship. They don't want the sandy towels in their beach bag, so they just leave them there. The mesh bags will keep them seperate from your other things.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think the bags are a good thing. :)
