We are not renewing year passes:( . We never took the time to visit the Boardwalk. Can you go to the Boardwalk without having Disney passes? Is there anything else, besides Downtown Disney, we can see without having passes. Not interested in going hotel hopping because we have a 7, 5, and 3 year old.TIA

You can go to the Boardwalk and just walk around -- no passes needed. The Boardwalk only has things to do at night -- you can get a Surrey and bike around the lake, they might have magicians, face painting, carnival games, etc., but nothing major. You could possibly spend almost two hours watching the acts and playing games, but that's about it. I don't think they have all the acts every day.

There is no admission charge to Boardwalk. There are a few midway games and some street performers that the kids might enjoy, but the main draw is the night clubs, ESPN sports bar, and restaurants. You can also rent surrey bikes. It's fun, but I'm not sure there's enough to keep little tykes interested. You might want to venture over to Fort Wilderness. You can visit the free petting zoo (pony rides $3), and visit the blacksmith shop. The Trail's End Restaurant is the best dining deal on WDW property. They serve comfort, kid friendly food at really good prices. To make a visit even more to FW even more fun, take the boat instead of a bus (or driving yourself). You can get a boat from Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary Resort, that will take you directly to FW.

No, you don't need passes to go to the Boardwalk. But, unlike Downtown Disney there is not that much to do there. unless you plan on meal. Just tell the guard you are going to the Boardwalk for a hour or two and they will let you in. I can't really think of anything else that would not cost any money or passes. Have Fun

You do not need a pass to walk around the Boardwalk. It is our favorite spot at WDW. ::yes::
