What a WONDERful World: Our First Disney Cruise on the Wonder, May 13-May 17! (DONE!)

Any photos of the stamps?

Great TR! Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Great idea! I'll scan them as soon as I get the chance and add the picture to my Trippie! :thumbsup2

Great pictures! I love the little Cinderella & Prince Charming crystal your DH got for your birthday. That is so cute! :) My dad collects all kinds of Disney crystal...I'm so jealous he came home one year with a sorcerer's hat! Here's a pic...sorry its so big...;)

So neat! :wizard: I love the Sorcerer Mickey! I'm starting a very small collection. :goodvibes

Looks like a great start to your Pirate night and that is pretty cool with Mickey flying in and all. When does Capt Jack show up??? pirate:

Sadly, Captain Jack doesn't make an appearance at the Pirates of the Caribbean Party. What's that about!? :confused: :confused3

Fantastic videos! I swear I got up from my chair and was doing that little dance from the Sail Away Party video. :dance3: :dancer: :banana: :banana: :woohoo: :rotfl:

I love watching Goofy and his amazing dance skills over and over :banana: again!

Thank you so much for sharing your videos. I watched them, and cried. Then I made my DD watch them and she cried. Then I made my DS watch them and he watched them over and over and over again. Now all I need to do is have DH watch them. I know I'll be able to get him on a cruise after he sees them.

You are welcome! :wizard: I'm so glad your whole family is getting to enjoy them! :dance3:

Hey Fairy_Tale_Bride,
I hear the speaker mention High School Musical in the second video. What was he saying? It is at the very end of the video and I can't understand what he is saying. Is there some kind of High School Musical song or dance done at the sail away party now? If so, my DDs will be soooooooo excited!!!!!!!!

Hello there fellow Carolinian & Panther fan! :thumbsup2 Your DD will be very happy to know they do play some High School Musical Music now and the CM's do the dance. I think they just played, "We're All in this Together," if I remember correctly. I know I was singing and doing the dance too! :banana:

Ok... those 8 pictures of food above are the reason I have to lose weight BEFORE I plan a cruise... that's going to be my at least 10 lb gaining treat!!!

Seriously, all you do on the cruise is eat! The big joke is that you eat 10 meals a day and they aren't kidding! :rotfl: I know I gained a lot of weight after the cruise, but it was so worth it! I wasn't passing on the food! :rotfl2:

I came on the board looking for another trip report and saw yours. SO glad I did!!!:cool1: We (dd7 and I) sail in a bit over a month on our 3rd DCL cruise and CANNOT WAIT!! Our last cruise was so filled with "magical moments" at every turn for us, that I had become a bit afraid she would be let down this time. NOT the case at all....after reading your TR and watching the videos I am now more excited than ever!!!! I can't wait till DD gets home so I can show her! And the topper was to see that Bret is still on the Wonder ....oh God PLEASE let him be there in August. Can't help it...love love love him!:love:

Thanks for taking the time to post not only the TR but the pics and videos too! So glad your cruise was special and that your birthday likely the best yet! :woohoo:

~~~Kelly
Thanks for joining and I am so glad you are enjoying my Trippie! :yay: Oh, I just love Bret! He is so sweet and a cutie too! I loved hearing his voice every morning! We got to hang out with him for a little bit too. He's fantastic! DH is even a big fan! He's like, we have to go get a picture with Bret! :rotfl:
Lindsey those videos are wonderful! I teared up at the one when you are pulling away from port and the horn is playing. I really can't wait to experience this for myself!
Those desserts at your Palo brunch look so yummy! Do you need to make a special reservation for the Palo brunch? I know you do for dinner with the extra $10, is brunch the same deal?
Everytime I see that you have a update I get so excited:banana: . You really did an amazing job documenting your vacation, and taking the time to share it with us! So thank you!! :goodvibes
Glad you are enjoying the videos! :yay: The horn is amazing and one of the best things about a Disney Cruise! You can't get that anywhere else! :banana:
The brunch at Palo's is done the same way as dinner. You ust have reservations and it is $10 per person. So worth it! :thumbsup2
You are so welcome and another update is coming soon! :woohoo:
Loved the videos...took me back to our cruise. The Palo pictures make me want to try it. 3 DCL cruises and Walt and I haven't made it there yet. Thanks for sharing! :banana: :banana:
May 16
Continued...
Day at Sea
There was an afternoon matinee for the production of "Disney Dreams" at the Walt Disney Theatere, so we decided to enjoy the show after our enjoyable brunch.
The Walt Disney Theatre is beautiful and we enjoyed every production! I think I was most looking forward to all the shows and I was not disappointed. "Disney Dreams" is my favorite! There were so many cute touches and almost every popular Disney movie is a part of the show. It actually snows in the theatre! It's just Disney Magic at its best!:wizard: I won't give too much away! ;)
n25002324_32219455_8689.jpg
This was our final day of the cruise and that was just too sad to think about! We decided to really enjoy our day at sea! We had an appointment at the Vista Spa in a little over a hour, so we decided to lay out by the pool to soak up some sun.
I really enjoyed the Family Pool because of the jumbo movie screen. They were showing "Finding Nemo," so we grabbed some grapes and strawberries and enjoyed the show. I just loved watching "Finding Nemo" and "The Little Mermaid" on the ship! They were the perfect films to get you in the right mood for a Disney Cruise!
n25002324_32219457_9254.jpg
It was time for our appointment at the Vista Spa and I had booked the Exotic Rasul. I had heard many interesting things about it, so I decided I'd need to give it a try for myself.
n25002324_32219458_9535.jpg
We checked into the Vista Spa and were each given some paperwork to fill out. It made me feel like I was at a doctor's office and I thought some of the questions were a little weird and personal for a visit to a spa on a cruise ship. Especially, if you are me and are very uncomfortable in any place that reminds you at all of a doctor's office! :scared: I didn't really see the point of it, especially for what we had booked at the spa.
DH & I were called back and each given a key to a locker. We were told we could each go to the locker rooms to change and get ready. There was a bathrobe and sandals waiting for us in each of our lockers.
n25002324_32219463_933.jpg
I walked back out to meet back up with DH & our spa person, so we could find out what was next. DH's sandals were much to small for his feet and we weren't too crazy about the bathrobes either because they were made of a very thin, see-through material.
Anyway, we were taken back to the room for the Exotic Rasul. It was all tile and there was a small room with a bench area and a shower area. Then, there was a glass door, where the steam room was with sinks and sitting areas. We were shown the different products and what they were used for, etc. There were also two plastic cups of cold water and plenty of towels there for our use.
n25002324_32219459_9813.jpg
n25002324_32219460_95.jpg
We were left alone and we decided to check out the steam room area. The entire area quickly filled with steam and we could barely breathe. We also couldn't really even see in the room, but we did manage to see the small slab of mud waiting for us near the sinks.
n25002324_32219461_374.jpg
It was ridiculously hot in there and then there was water on the floor from the showers that was literally like standing in a pot of boiling water. I was jumping around and had to leave the room because my feet were getting burnt.
I could not enjoy myself at all and was quickly feeling sick from the extreme heat and not being able to breathe. It did no good to leave the steam room because the outside area of our private room was filled with just as much steam. I was completely covered in sweat and my hair was frizzed everywhere. I didn't realize the spa treatment meant for us to pretty much completely shower and I didn't have to do all of that with other plans scheduled on board soon after our spa treatment.
Well, we were not too pleased with the Exotic Rasul experience at all and especially for the price we paid. We ended up having to leave about 20 minutes early because we were so miserable inside our room. We went back to the locker rooms to grab our belongings and I had to rush back to our stateroom to change, freshen-up, do my hair, make-up...the works. It wasn't what I felt like doing our last afternoon on the ship.
n25002324_32219467_2098.jpg
This was my only complaint and disappointment on our cruise, so that's not too bad. :rolleyes: I just know next time I will skip going to the spa and save the money to spend it somewhere worthwhile on the ship or at Castaway Cay!
Sorry the whole spa experience sucked. I never have luck with spa's all the smells and heat usually make me sick. :sick:
Great updates Lindsey.
Those desserts at Palo look to die for...what was the pretty colored green/pink/cream one?
I LOVE Disney Dreams too.......I got so misty eyed it was ridiculous. I can't wait to see Twice Charmed on the Magic in Oct.
Sorry about your Rasul.........it is HOT in there. We enjoyed it, but I think we used a lot of cold water in the shower to help us be able to enjoy the steam room without feeling like we were scalding ourselves.
Going back to watch the videos.
I bought two for myself and sent my family a postcard, so they could have one too! :thumbsup2
Lindsey......
I finally got a chance to watch your videos....now I am trying to talk my hubby into a video camera!!!!!
It felt like I was there with you...loved the horn & I remembered "move it like this & shake it like that" right away.
OH & the stamps....I mailed myself home a postcard with the Castaway Cay stamp on it & put it in my scrapbook.
Don't let the Rasul ruin your taste for the spa!!! Next time save up and have a couple's massage maybe??? I hear both good and bad about the Rasul... I think it's just personal... did you notice the hidden mickey in the steamy picture with the sinks?????
Love the stamps too!!! Didn't think they would be DCL stamps - I thought Bahamas... they'd be great for scrapbooks, etc.
Your trippies are always really entertaining. You write well and remember a lot of detail.
looking forward to the next installment.;)
