What a Wild Ride
One afternoon, which seems like months ago,
I heard of a ride contest and thought, "Whoa!"
That's something I want to be a part of,
It sounded like something I would truly love.
I asked many questions trying to learn,
And thought, "I'd like to give this a turn!"
There was talk of everyone being teamed,
Quickly forming, no room for me it seemed.
I asked and asked but was just turned away,
There was just no where for me to play.
So I realized I would not join in the fun,
You can't have a ride team with only just one.
The desire to play, birthed a crazy thought:
"I could start my own team, hmm, Why not?"
I sought out information from my VMK Angel,
Always there for me - and always truthful.
You had all the answers, and something more,
I learned a new fact, it made my spirit soar!
You didn't have a team, but by your choice,
And I found comfort in your wise "voice."
You told me everything I needed to know,
The facts, along with the highs and the low.
You explained why you watch from the side,
But it just made me want to Build a Jegrezo Ride!
So with new found energy I went to my friends,
And talked to them about creating dips and bends
I asked them to come play and join a team with me,
"We can do it - We'll figure it out - You'll see!"
In the spirit of friendship they rallied around,
Team Ride the Rainbow was off the ground!
But, wait! Oh no, our team only had five,
This was not enough to bring us alive.
After asking a few, who were already "taken"
Our potential team seemed to be threatened.
Then suddenly we found a 6th, our Ace in the hole,
And our small but spirited team was finally full!
We had 2 rules from the very first day,
- Each room is your own, Do it your Way!
The second was key - the important one:
- We're not here to win, just to have fun!
In the following weeks, I learned oh so much,
About myself and challenges, and friendship and such.
It's been quite the ride - and not always fun,
But something I am so happy to have done!
When it was time to start building my slide,
I stared at the pieces - unable to create a ride.
So many came to my aid with help and advice,
It was amazing how many stopped in to be nice!
But a "friend" on my list, who I barely even knew,
Took the time to teach me - heck, you came to the rescue!
You not only showed me how to build a vitual water ride,
But lent me an ear, and a new true friend was by my side!
My teammates amazed me - they are a talented crew,
With wonderful rides, I wish I could build like each of you!
Team Ride the Rainbow: Ace, Monkey, Will, Speed, and Beem,
The five of you (with me) have been the greatest team!
Ace, you believed in us enough to climb aboard,
Your creativity and talent has had me "floored!"
Your calm presence and insight has added to the team!
Thanks for being the 6th - and helping us build the dream.
Beam, always there with kind words and a smile,
Getting to know you more - you're one with such style!
Kindness and warmth just seem to be part of you,
Even through the computer, one can tell this is true!
Will, with your humor and carefree way,
What could I possibly even begin to say?
Thanks for the laughs - and holding tight to rule 2,
You've made it fun and lighthearted, it's what you do!
Speed, how do I thank you for being by my side,
Proving it's about the friendships, not the slide.
You continue to amaze me in your life insight,
And although we "blame speed," you are so often right.
Monkey, you have been there right by my side everyday,
When I said, "Why dont we build a ride?" you said, "Ok!"
You never once told me the idea was too crazy,
Thanks for the hours and hours of hanging with me!
There are so many others who came to my side,
While we have been on this truly wild ride!
Bears, Days, Fox, Will Oh, Jazz, Disva, Adventure, and Be,
Many have your own teams, yet have been there for me!
And there are so many others that I can't list you all,
Support, smiles, and hugs - throughout the long haul,
We say it's just a game, but the truth is it's so much more,
Who'd have thought in VMK I'd find friends, and even a mentor?
Thank you all for the truly amazing and magical ride,
Over the last few weeks I've shared laughter - and even cried.
But as the experience winds down this weekend,
I've so much more than a ride, I have truly great friends!
Hugs and laughter, sincerely to each and every one of you,
It's been quite a ride - with ups, downs, and sharp turns too!
But the truth is my heart and soul have truly been touched,
This ode is for you - you each honestly mean so very much!
Here's to fun and silly days in our virtual VMK Land,
To each of you, I wish I could reach out and hold your hand.
You've touched my life and made a difference, please know:
It's not gold, but true friendship, that's at the end of the rainbow!
Hugs to all,
