I was sick all last weekend with a sinus infection. The doctor has me on an antibiotic. By Monday I was healthy enough to go back to work. I have been pulled away from my desk for the last 6 weeks to fill in for the police chief's secretary, who had surgery. My work is piling up, so who knows when I'll catch up. Monday, I go into the office and one of the other ladies reminds me we have a seminar to go to at 11:15 am. I had scheduled a refrigerator repairman for Wed. Everything in my refrigerator was freezing, no matter if I cleaned the coils or adjusted the temperature. The thing is an Amana and only 10 years old. When I got home Monday, there had been a call from him saying he was ahead of schedule and wanting to know if he could come out then. I figured great, I'll get that over with. Well, he's in my home no longer than 10 minutes and says the refrigerator is beyond repair! 
He asks if my electric bill has been high. As a matter of fact, it was but I didn't even think about it being a problem refrigerator. As soon as he is out the door I'm in my car running all over town pricing new refrigerators. I picked out a Whirlpool, side-by-side, with ice and water thru the door. It's what I've always had and I don't want to downgrade!
The store said they could deliver Wed. Great!!! Go to work Wednesday and get a call that the delivery man will be there between 9:30-11:30. He shows up around 11:00. He is unable to hook my water line up because there's a kink in the copper tubing. Besides, he says, with the new refrigerators they are going to plastic water hoses. Okay, next I called a plumber. He says he will be at my house Thursday morning. He shows up on time and does a wonderful job! Then he goes to test the water thru the door and the lever that you push the glass against doesn't want to go back right away. Water still comes out for a few seconds after you remove the glass. When it finally shuts off there's a constant drip coming from the thing!
So now, I'm on the phone to the store! They will be able to send a serviceman to my house Friday. Great!!! I go back to the office. When I came home tonight (Thursday), I was getting ready to go to the grocery store when I heard someone on my anwering machine. When I came into the room I asked DS who was on the recorder. He was on the computer. He said it was someone asking me to vote for Bush. Okay. I head out the door to the grocery store. Back from the grocery store, we get a bite to eat, and I fall asleep on the couch watching a movie. At 11:00 PM my mom calls and asks me why I didn't call her back from her previous call. (How DS got Bush out of his grandmother's call is beyond me!) She wanted to know what time I'm picking her up in the morning!!!
Oh my gosh, it's the day she has her checkup at Cleveland Clinic! I have been away from my desk so I didn't have my calendar staring me in the face. I tell her I will be there at 9:00 am. So on Friday I have to drop DS off at school, go to work for 1 hour, go Cleveland Clinic, and somehow get ahold of the repairman for the refrigerator to see if he can give me the last call of the day. I will be so glad when this week is over!!! Calgon, take me away!!!!
