What a plan! Simple, yet insane. **New 4/19 Link to new PTR**

Subbing! I've read other TR's of yours, so I'm coming out of lurk-dom to say Hey, Ya'll!!!!:wave2:

I have been away from the boards for a while - I am glad that you decided to do a pretrip. Sorry to hear that you are not able to go in May, but two trips in one year is still great!!!

Thank you so much for posting. We are blessed to be able to go to Disney as much as we do. I am really missing it this week.

Thank you so much for reading our reports and coming out of "lurk-dom". I really do appreciate it!

Adventure is out there! – Charles Muntz from Up!

I have seen this debate many times, the day people get to Disney - do they rest up or go full force? Do you check out the resort or hit the parks immediately? In October, we are flying in on the Thursday before Ip Dip and leaving the following Tuesday. I always ask Bill if we could hang out at the resort and take it easy the first day he looks at me and does this:
shakinghead.gif
.

I must have jinxed the May trip because I had it all figured out really quickly. The ADR’s went smoothly, I had talked Bill into not taking the first flight out in the morning. We had decided to sleep in
sleeping.gif
until 6:30am. This made me extremely happy. I know to some people that is not sleeping in, but for me it would have been because we usually take the first plane out and I have to be up at 4am or earlier. I have to get myself ready and help Bill too.

For the October and December trips we are going to fly out of St. Louis which is closer than Nashville and will stay at the Marriot right by the airport, using their park and fly option. I am not sure how much this is going to be because the park and fly promo they have up right now is valid through April 30th, so I have to wait, I hate to wait on stuff like this. They have a wheelchair accessible shuttle so I don’t have to drop Bill off, take the van back to the hotel, then hop a shuttle like I had to do in Nashville. Their wheelchair accessible cabs were yucky.

We will end up at Pop early in the afternoon. The room will hopefully be ready. Bill can stretch out on the bed for a bit before we head to DTD. Can you believe we have decided not to go to a park on the first night? It is a miracle I tell ya. This will be a fast trip hopefully filled with many mini meets and Ip Dip dinner, so I so I suggested that we rest and relax for the first night and Bill as agreed :thumbsup2.

Has anyone been to the guest relations place in DTD? I think I have read you can get AP’s there, do they deal with tickets? I want to turn in my voucher and get Bill’s AP, we have a one day ticket we want to use to upgrade for him.

After that we will head to T-Rex for an early dinner. I hope we don’t have issues with getting the chair situated, sometimes the servers just don’t understand that the chair needs a lot of room and I sit by him not across from him, I state this on the reservation and also tell them at the podium. I do this because:

~ He is my sweetie and I can’t stand to be across the table from him, and
~ I cut up his food and would rather not be getting up and down - taking his plate, sitting down, cutting things up, getting back up, giving his plate back etc, during my meal.

The servers are usually pretty accommodating, I just tell them nicely what I need and they take it from there. I understand if we have to wait for another table, no problem. Scott, our fearless leader, is a Cotton Candytini pusher
drinks_wine.gif
, mention you are going to T-Rex and he says you need to get one - so you I have to get one. He has great taste, he loves Lapu Lapu’s so I trust him.

After dinner, we will walk around DTD, maybe shop a little
thdshopping.gif
. We were talking about not having dessert at T-Rex and stopping by Ghirardelli’s for something, we have never been there and Bill has always wanted one of their sundaes.

Next installment… Is there a Disney Pin trading anonymous? If not I need to start one.

Hey Tracy!

After our last trip, I'm truly sold on the concept of "easing into" the vacation! Resting and relaxing on the first night will set the tone for the entire week... I think its a great idea! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Ohhh... A cotton candytini... Sounds yumm-o.... :lovestruc

I keep telling Terry about all these drinks that I want to try and I am pretty sure Terry is starting to think I am a huge lush...

Hope all is well with you and Bill... Talk to you soon! :goodvibes

The last time I took a red eye in, I was able to get in my room and sleep for 3 hours before I got up. I did go to a park, but resting before going out was definitely the best way to go. Unless I knew I was never coming back, I would always suggest taking the first night off...:thumbsup2

Good job Tracy.

I like the idea too, now let's see if Bill will change his mind.

We really only drink in Disney, sounds weird doesn't it :rotfl:. I figure we are on vacation so why not? We are ok, Bill's ankle is still bothering him :sad2: and I am not feeling well, I think the temperature changes and it being yucky rain now is not helping. I have realy bad sinus pressure and makes me feel sick to my stomach .

I will feel better tomorrow. Southwest is supposed to open dates through October 30th, so I can book our October flights, that will make me happy. They should also be putting on their website when the next booking window opens and that will help me know when I can book the December flights too .

Thanks Jordan! I am going to try to make sure I get some good rest and do what ever I can to not get the post Disney sickness. I am going to try to boost our immune systems and keep dayquil and nyquil with us at all times :rotfl:.

LOL. I always have dayquil and nyquil with me on trips.

Last trip with everyone I think I had the entire medicine cabinet with me. Abbey would come in and say do you have such and such and I would grab the sterilite container I brought and pull out whatever she asked for. She said it was like Mary Poppins carpetbag because it seemed to have everything in it :rotfl2:.

Bad thing was I didn't use anything on myself until it was too late. Not this trip, I am doing preventative medicine :rotfl:.

I have never tried Airborne, you need to ask on your TR, there are tons of people on it and I bet some of them have tried it.

I am proud you had krazy glue with you, I used to carry glue and an eye glass kit when I wore glasses.

I can definitely recommend Ghirardelli's- it's one of my must do's. I didn't think I'd make it there my last trip, but my nieces couldn't decide on a park the last day so I asked them if they wanted to go shopping and have ice cream for lunch? :rotfl:

The cotton candy-tini sounds intriguing...

(wow, actually had something to say...)

What a great idea, shopping and ice cream for lunch!! I love it. Thanks for posting! Bill can't wait to try Ghiradelli's.

Airfare was $82 from St. Louis to MCO, $79 MCO to St. Louis, I am so happy to have this part of the trip taken care of.

Woo Hoo!! :banana::banana:

You got great rates!! Southwest hasn't updated what the next ticket window will be... I'm anxious to see when Julie/mousescrapper can buy her Thanksgiving trip tickets & how much closer I'll be to buying tickets for our February trip.
