What a plan! Simple, yet insane. **New 4/19 Link to new PTR**

All great ideas...:thumbsup2

Tours and cruises are a few of the ideas I have for 2012....

Thanks Jordan. I think your 2012 trips are going to be fantastic.

Wow... so many great ideas! I think all of the tours sound amazing! I'd like to take a tour someday, either when the kids are older or on an adults only trip.

I'm now trying to convince Tim that we should go to Narcoossee's instead of Shula's! There are still ADRs available for the end of April!!

I'm sorry you guys canceled your May trip - but it is so worth it! To find a place that you fit in so easily & can make a difference is priceless! Congrats to Bill!! :goodvibes And now you can focus on your October & December planning! ;)

The Keys to the Kingdom tour was fantastic!! I know we will do Mickey's Milestones but I don't know about the rest yet. I have the October trip pretty much planned out. I have to wait for the Candlelight Processional speakers line up to firm up the December plans.

Phew - you've got some great ideas there, Tracy! And can I just say that you are going to have that AP totally paid for with your discounts on the tours and meals! Gotta love Disney math! :thumbsup2

The tours sound great - the AK one and the Mickey Mouse one - aw heck, they all sound like fun to me!

I had never seen the Mad Hatter cake - back when we were planning our October 2008 trip I scoured that cake thread looking for what I wanted for Katie's birthday. Never did see that one - it's really cute! I agree that it's a bit girly for Bill though. I love the castle one - for your knight in shining armor!

Sara

I don't know how many tours we will end up doing, but the prices do look better with the discount :rotfl:. He loves cheesecake so I was very happy when I read you can do the mini castle cake that way. I love the cake thread here, there are so many beautiful cakes.

I love all your special ideas! I've wanted to try almost all of those myself. :rotfl: I looked into the cakes once but thought they'd be too big for just Sam and I and also the issue of what to do with it afterwards. Maybe on a trip when we have more people with us. Those were some gorgeous cakes though!

As for the tours, I've got my eye on Backstage Safari or Backstage Magic next time. My goal is to do all the tours at some point. The Yuletide one would be neat too around Christmas time.

Love all the restaurant choices too. The only one I've tried is Cinderella's Royal Table, which we liked. I've heard great things recenty about Yachtsmans Steakhouse.

Can't wait to hear about the Dining with an Imagineer too! That would be so awesome. I had heard they discontinued this, but apparently not! :confused3

Looking forward to more!

I would love to do the Backstage Magic tour, but it is expensive and with going to 3 of the parks, Bill says it would be a pain to be loaded on and off the bus all day so I don't know if we will ever do that one.

Money will be the big issue on what we can and can't do. I know the Mickey's Milestone tour will happen and Dine with the Imagineer is still available according to the CM I talked to this morning, but that could change by October.

Morning Tracy!! :flower3:

How is Bill's ankle feeling this morning??

Good Morning! His ankle is ok, he had surgery on it about 18 months ago, they released tendons because they were drawing up. He cramps a lot so we do stretches several times a day to help with the pain.

Thank you for asking.

I am sure the stretches help a lot... My Mom has had a few surgeries on her foot and it's a long recovery... She has been in physical therapy for I think about 2 years... She is still in pain but they think that she is as good as she will ever be...

I am excited for our dinner together... I think it will be way more fun with 4 people than 2... I almost didn't tell Terry about the little games the servers do... I wanted to see the look on his face when they covered the table in ketchup and brought him a huge jar of soda... He would be wondering what in the world was going on... :rotfl:

I am very happy about going to WCC with you two as well. Bill and I have to replace the last memories we had there.

When we took our "friend" Amy there, we told her all about the restaurant and the antics of the servers. She had an attitude before we were even seated and while we were waiting for a table stated "They named the restaurant wrong, it isn't quiet here". During the dinner she complained about "all the kids" I finally had enough and said "we are in DISNEY WORLD" there are kids everywhere". So it will be great to go with people that are fun :rotfl:.

:sad2: If you don't want to be around kids... You really shouldn't go to DISNEY WORLD!!! Big DUH!!!

I think that is one of the reasons I love Disney... I can be a kid and nobody notices... Or they notice and just don't care... :)

Can you tell me how to order one of those cakes. My husband and I are finally going to Disney to celebrate our 17th anniversary (we've never had a honeymoon) and I graduate on May 7th with my Masters in Speech Language Pathology so it would be fun to have a special cake at Disney!!:mickeyjum
Sorry your May trip got cancelled, it is scary what Illinois is doing, I grew up in Jacksonville, and one of my friends works for JACIL and she is always going to Springfield to try and fight the cuts.

I mean who wants to look out a window and see this:

Those pictures could have been taken off of my front porch! We have beautiful views of the mountains here, too. I always say if it weren't for the views, I would never tolerate living so far out in the country! :rotfl:

That is one of the reasons I love Disney, I can just be silly and fun and not worry about what anyone thinks :goodvibes.

Congrats on your Masters!!!

Hi, I will give you two different links to look at:

Official Cake Thread Photo Gallery

There is a lot of information. It seems that the Grand Floridian and The Contemporary are good places for cakes to be delivered to their restaurants. Many people rave about Chef Brian at the Contemporary, make sure to be really specific, because I have seen people not get what they were expecting. The chatter thread has people that can give advice better than I could.

Many of the schools in are area are having board meetings this week discussing laying off teachers, cutting programs, etc. It is very sad.

Ok lurkers, I have tons of views but hardly anyone is talking to me :confused3. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for the replies I have, but am I that boring? Are the installments that bad? What is up? Come out and talk to me please :goodvibes.

I think they may be intimidated of your talent...

Just my opinion... :flower3:

Tracy, your surprises and additions are AWESOME! Take me with you!
I love the little mini cakes--I didn't know that you could have cheesecake instead. The boat ride sounds like a lot of fun. I have been thinking about reserving Dine with an Imagineer for my vacation too. My husband is a graphic designer and I know he would love learning about the thought processes.

I didn't know about the mini cakes either until I looked at the cake threads in the restaurant section. Dine with an Imagineer sounds like a great idea for your husband :thumbsup2. When I called the CM said they did it "certain times of the year" but of course couldn't tell me when :rotfl:.

I love your reports. In fact, sometimes it makes me tear up a little because you do such a good job of showing the special love that exists between you and Bill. (And Ace of course.)

I posted once or twice in your last pre-trip thread I think; just don't always have a lot to say. So I lurk. :)

:welcome: Thank you so much for posting!! That is so sweet of you to say that. I adore Bill, he is my heart . I am glad you came out of lurkdom!!

Hey Tracy! :wave2:

I've been off the DIS for a few days and I'm trying to catch up. Whew! You do have lots of ideas swirling around in that head of yours!

The cake idea is perfect... and I like the mini castle/slipper idea so you don't have to fret about leftovers.

Tours are fantastic... I really want to do Yuletide Fantasy, but our timing has always been wrong. The Dine with an Imagineer sounds fascinating; Bill would probably love that! Of course, all the backstage stuff is really cool...

I'm laughing at the thought of all the Ip Dippers on the Pirate Cruise!! :lmao:

Hope Bill is feeling better tonight. Give him a  from me!

Kathy

All of your ideas sound wonderful, Tracy!! I liked the Mad Hatter cake the best, but if you think it's too girly, then I'd say go with the mini-cakes.

Tours sound so fun! Hmmm.... maybe for my trip. Would you do one solo- if you ever went solo, that is??

Kathy, I am so happy to see you!! I have way too many things floating around in my brain :rotfl:. Could you see poor Patch having to put up with Buzz :lmao: on the pirate cruise? Bill is doing ok, his ankle has been giving him fits lately. I am so glad you posted .

Thanks!! I think the Keys to the Kingdom tour would be great to do solo. You get an ear piece so you can clearly hear the guide. We both loved that tour.

I have been away from the boards for a while - I am glad that you decided to do a pretrip. Sorry to hear that you are not able to go in May, but two trips in one year is still great!!!
