What a Great Event and Meet this weekend at WDW!

We headed to WDW on friday for the event and also attended the Kathryns pin meet at the contemporary.

First let me say that I met some GREAT DISers for the first time including Kathryn, Perndwlr, buggin, and Dan Murphy. I had a great time at the meet and made some great trades.

The Trade Parade was fun and the waits were short compared to my experience at the MGM event. We arrived at 6:30 to see a single line that was not very long at all. The line to purchase pins took us all of about 15 min. The only long line was for the trade cart where I got some so so pins. I was, however, lucky enough to trade for the Inaugural Sailing pin from the Disney Cruise line with a cast member while we waited in line.

That is the best part of Pin Meets.... Meeting all the people who you have talked with on the net for so long... Glad to see you had a good time. How long was the wait for the Pin trade cart?

Nat, I'd say we waited for about an hour. They refreshed the board once during that time and I think again right after we (Brer-Rabbit) and I made our trades. I was pretty lucky, I was able to get the WDCC Bambi square pin that was dated March 2000. It's an LE 1000 and was only given out with the purchase of the Bambi piece.

I enjoyed the whole thing (even the wait in line) cause I got to do it with new friends. Another highlight of the day was when our party met up with Kathryn in the pin lounge and Scoop gave us his rendition of Dindercella. My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much, and Corey, who is not a pin trader, but a VERY patient member of my group of new friends, said that Scoop's story made the whole weekend worth the trip!

Another neat thing was on Sunday morning just before I left, Scoop gave me a button that said "Honorary Citizen of the Magic Kingdom".

Thanks Michael, It was great to meet you, Corey and Beverly Lynn. But isn't Robin leaving out the part about being awarded the CTT pin??? Is that in some other thread somewhere???

Kathryn - it was great to meet you as well. That Dindercella story Scoop did was hillarious. I forgot to mention that I won a pin from Scoop while Pern and I were waiting in line. Scoop did that pin flipping thig with his special spatula. I guessed it -- I was so excited!! (I never win anything!). Anyway it made my day and I sent an note to WDW guest relations to let them know how much I enjoyed Scoop and his story!

Kathryn.......... I wish!!!! I did get an "Honorary Citizen of Magic Kingdom" button from Scoop, but a CTT??? Nope not that lucky.............
