I just asked my DS if he would rather celebrate his 11th birthday at Beaches and Cream, Ghirardelli or Gardenview Lounge. I was surprised when he said he wanted the tea. He said, "Last time I was there I had to have chocolate milk and I have always wanted their tea!"

What is something I can order for him ahead of time to make it special? There will be Grandma, Aunt, Mom, Dad, older teen brother and 5 y.o. brother.

We are already having a custom cake delivered to the GFC earlier in the week for my mom's 70th birthday dinner.

the slipper dessert!!

Its $14 I believe, you can find it on page one of the cake thread - they do a great job presenting it and singing happy birthday (we did this for dd, she too wanted to be "grown up" and order tea - my favorite, I make a pot of tea from leaves often - - well, we were joined by friends, and she was doing her best to get thru the tea, they came late, ordered the MRs Pots, and her eyes - well, the CM server asked if she would like her own Mrs Pott, dd looked at me and of course I nodded -

She was 11 - and has spent this whole year trying different teas (darjeling is her favorite) just to go back and do it again!! (and from what I see on the menu, darjeling isnt a choice!!)

gotta luv 'em!!

Sounds like your daughter and my son are two peas in a pod!

I think, though, that he might think the slipper was girly...(I might want one for me, however!;)

Not sure if DS11 would "appreciate" a Cinderella slipper. Call the bakery and ask what options there would be.
