This man is a machine. I have been telling my boys about him and how hard he worked to get where he is. Hardwork and determination do payoff.

We are talking about .01 of a second... .01
Thats frippin close. There is no way a visual determination could be made at something that close.
I just saw the high speed camera footage and if they had to do this visually it would be a tie.
My eldest son is scared of putting his head under water. I told him about how the first time Phelps was training for the backstroke he kept his head up b/c he was scared too, but look at him now. He saw him race tonight and wants to try again tomorrow in the pool.![]()

His poor mother looked like she was about to pass out. She seemed sure he got 2nd and then when she saw the results she had to sit down! They said yesterday that he eats 10,000 calories a day and that in ONE typical workout he burns 5,000 calories! Working my butt off at Jazzercise for an hour only gets me about 520!
And his heart pumps something like 8,000 pints (?) a minute, which is double what a "normal" person's heart does.
I am LOVING the Olympics this year. I've been so sleep-deprived all week staying up late watching!

My little one was afraid to put his head in the water as well...even in the shower or bath. The miracle cure....GOGGLES!! Turns out he just didn't like the water in his eyes.
Me too, and it was the boys' first week back to school! OOPS! Bad timing!![]()
Or maybe not - the silver guy's coach is doign something. Stay tuned!!! They did just say, "The touchpad never lies!"
Maybe I'm being cynical, but I wouldn't put it past China to help him win his
8th gold medal at the China Olympics.
The protest is over, Phelps won.
It was amazing, and will be shown for years.
Just because it's in China doesn't mean they get extra judges or the final word. The IOC is multinational (although it does seem to favor white haird old white guys) and THEY make all the final decisions. China is the host not the officials.
