What a disaster!!

Wow! You weren't kidding when you said it was foggy!

I can feel the serenity when I saw the WL completely surrounded by fog.

You picked the perfect word... it certainly looks and feels very serene.

I'm glad you enjoyed the `Ohana breakfast... that picture of the bread actually made my mouth water!!

I'm sorry this is your last day because it means the end of the report is near! :sad1: I've enjoyed it so very much!

Day #7 (Saturday) Valentine's Day Part 1

Finally, it's our last full day at Disney. I woke up at 6:00am., somewhat late for me, hoping to get a few good shots of the early sunrise. When I got outside, it was a little wet. It wasn't showering or raining, just wet like drizzle and lots of fog yet not humid. Not happy about that. I was afraid the wetness might get inside my camera. So I have to be careful where I set up my camera. I took most of the shots by the walkway area under the roof and I managed to capture a few shots from the bus station area pointing toward the WL main entrance really fast.

After that, I then move on back to the pool area and then a few at the front of the bear face area.

_DIS6808.jpg

Everything was so quiet, I can hear a pin drop even with the waterfall. There is something about early morning fog. It seems every thing just stand still.

_DIS6819.jpg

_DIS6831.jpg

Looks like I am not going to see any sunrise at all this morning. Not with this kind of weather condition. By 6:45am, I packed my gear and headed back to the room. By the time I showered and DW is ready to go, it's already passed 7:00am. We were a little behind our schedule because our second character breakfast at O'hana this morning is at 7:30am. We quickly walked to the boat dock as usual and already there was daylight but no sun. Fog was still heavy.

We were the only couple on the boat. The only other passenger was this little guy who dropped by when we were about to dock CR. He was so close. My camera was having a hard time to focus.

_DIS6879.jpg

Since this will be our last morning boat ride to CR, so I thought, I better capture some more restaurant shot that I might've missed just in case. By the time, we hopped onto the monorail and arrived at O'hana a little pass 7:30am. They were able to get us a table with in minutes. Very nice of the CM.

There is something about O'hana. I am not that big a fan of PR, WL is still my favorite but I really like the whole O'hana atmosphere. Once we walked in, the cooking area has the fresh fruit display and the grill has the flame going on. It feels really cozy especially with such cool and wet morning.

_DIS6904.jpg

Once we sat down, the CM came and greet us with a smile as always. Explaining how the breakfast work. All we have to do was basically just sit and eat. I think we can managed that. :) In no time, the CM brought us our coffee, tropical fruit juice, bread and fresh fruit. We were cleaning them out.

Matter of time, the breakfast plate came out and we were having a feast. I just love those Mickey waffles and it's my favorite.

_DIS6918.jpg

In the middle of the breakfast, the character began to come out and mingle with the guests. First Mickey, then Lilo, then Stitch of course, then Pluto. Here is a picture of me just put down my fork. As you can see, my eyes were barely open. Either the flash was getting to me or I was still half asleep. Take a pick. LOL...

Soon...our bellies were filled and we need to walked off these food. Since this is our last day at the park, we decided to have a relax day. Just to walk around MK before lunch at DTD. No more "Power Disney", so I thought...

OMGoodness! What beautiful shots!
TD, you've become a topic of conversation these days between my son and I, ( he's 16, 17 this summer). My boy has said because of your love for photgraphy and your photos he wants to look into some photography classes when he goes off to college. We were talking cameras while we were out shopping tonight, when I stopped off to look at cameras so I can familiarize myself a little more my boy asked why was I looking to buy a new camera, before I could answer he said "Because of that photographer guys TR?" LOL I thought that was so cute that he remembered that I was starting to take intrest, I told him I really wanted to start looking into photography, maybe even take a class at our local Community College, that's when he said to me that he was intrested as well. He was talking to me about your fish eye lens, I told him how much it cost, and he said he already knew. I was surprised to hear him tell me he already knew, he said he and a kid at church talked about you and your photos at youth the other night. Do you see how much influence you have?!!? :worship: My boy hasn't read all of your TR, but he knows who you are and and is intrested in your photos and now photography himself!

Another great update. I love the pics of WL. I'm sure when I am there in 30 DAYS!! we won't see the lodge like that. It will be too hot in the morning. I can't wait.:goodvibes

I am not a Stitch fan. I don't get the hype. Although after seeing your pics, I would put up with him for the food. And I love Pluto:love:

Have a good day!!

Thanks for the update, TopDog! And for the wilderness Lodge photos - can't tell you how many times I've wandered down to that dock, camera in hand . . . foggy days, cold days, clear days - it's always beautiful.

I really never had a desire to stay at WL. NOW I DO!!!
Those photos are just, gosh I can't find the words. :rotfl:
I can feel the peacefulness.

Topdog you are making me so homesick! The pics of WL were beautiful. Morning is my favorite time there. Everyone else is sleeping and I can here the quite. I am getting so many ideas of shots I want to get on the next trip- whenever that may be?!

Breakfast looked so delicious! My ds asked me to make cinnamon rolls when he looked at your pics :) ! MK is also our favorite park where we always spend our first and last days at Disney. Now you didn't mention the glass or the pokey foot ...... popcorn::

Great pics, as usual!! Can't wait to be at WL in August!! :cool1: The food looks yummy at Ohana - that is one of our breakfats plans, too! Glad to hear we can take a boat there and not a bus!!

I absolutely love those foggy pics of WL! Not that I don't like all your pics, but those are something special! :goodvibes

Yes. Those bread was very very good and I am not a bread person.

There are still lots happening towards the end of the trip. Stay tune...

Too bad Florida doesn't snow like PA. It would be more interesting to see how WL look completely cover with snow.
I really never had a desire to stay at WL. NOW I DO!!!

Now pick up that phone and change that reservation. Please say hi to Nova for me. She's such cute girl. Congrat on the house also.

Cinnamon rolls...mmm...I can eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast and lunch. LOL...

It's too early to think about the glass and foot yet. Just wait...

:yay: At one point, I thought about sleeping at the couch in the WL lobby. I don't think DW would like that. You will love WL. No pictures including mine can truly experience and appreciate WL until you stand in the middle of that lobby and look up. I know WL room is smaller than other deluxe resort but it was big enough for us.

To get to O'Hana. You take a boat ride to CR first and then transfer to monorail. It really was no hassle to us at all since both are fun ride any way.

Hi Topdog! I am all caught up and loving your report as usual! I'm sorry you never find your wallet, but you definitely seem like you had the right attitude about it. Your story about the diner is so cute, how sweet of you to buy them dinner, it brought tears to my eyes. :hug:Can't believe it's your last day. I'm loving your report, it's so detailed and I feel like I'm really there with you.

p.s. I would not mess with your DW she looks like one tough cookie!!

Oooh, wonderful pics!
Thanks.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Just because it's last day doesn't mean disaster is over. :rolleyes1
Loving your trip report. The photographs are beautiful. Thanks.

Thank you. Please stay tune for more.

Another great post. The food from O'hana's looks wonderful. I will have to show the kids so they will want to eat there on our trip in December. :cool1:

Great pictures as well. The early morning pictures of WL are absolutely stunning. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to your next post, but not to the end of the story. I will be sad when the report ends, so I guess you just have to go back to WDW so you can write another report! :rotfl2:

I wasn't getting updates and missed quite a bit. I hate that your waller was never found but the good news is no one tried to use your CC's. Maybe it actually got lost on a ride and 15 years from now when they refurb your wallet will come up. I recently read a story like that. (And Disney tracked the woman down and gave it to her!)

Love the fisheyed pics of WL. You're right...the fog gives it a whole different appearance. It's peaceful and spooky at the same time. :goodvibes

I've enjoyed your trip report. Even with all the negative stuff you guys managed to have a great time and that's what matters! That last post has me a little worried though....

Once again, lovely pictures TD! The ones from breakfast were fantastic. We'll be there for breakfast AND dinner next month. Your pictures got me right back in the mood! That pull apart bread is the best, isn't it?

Don't be sad. When you come back from your Dec trip, you can start a TR too to keep the magic going too. pixiedust:

Better late than never. I need to catch up on your too. It's very hard to keep up with everyone's TR when there are only so many hours a day.

That would be really magical if Disney can find my wallet after so many years. Like I said, my name is on their system. They should have no problem looking for me.

The heavy fog kinda remind me the British scenery. Very spooky indeed. Especially the empty walkway with all the lantern light fixtures.

Thank you again. That bread is :thumbsup2:thumbsup2. I am jealous now that you will be going to O'Hana for breakfast & dinner. Bring me a doggy bag back, will ya?? :rotfl: When you come back, don't forget to show us...some pictures.

OMG! Great photos. I hate this is your last full day. Say it ain't so!!!!! Okay, I have to admit, the pic with you and Stitch is so cute. You also resemble Tiger Woods in those shots. I think he's hot! ;)
