What a disaster!!

Topdog, OMG, what beautiful pictures!!!!! They look so professional! I hate rude people...especially at WDW. At every Japanese Hibachi grill we eat at, you have to share a table. I'm a social butterfly but my husband isn't so he is always extremely quiet while sitting around strangers! Everyone has their preferences but don't take it out on the hostess! Lol. Sorry about your wallet. And you are such a gentleman. But I loved your update!
Thanks. I just don't understand those people some time. If they don't like the restaurant arrangement, then complain to the manager or leave. Why yelling to the hostess?!
Normally, I don't mind share table with strangers but I was just too tired that night. Nonetheless, it all work out. Not to mention the pregnant mother who started the conversation with me was kinda cute too, so that help. :lovestruc Oops! Don't tell my DW!! :lmao::lmao:
Well, that stinks about not finding your wallet. I just knew that Disney Magic was going to bring you some good luck. Whoever found it and stole your money will pay for his/her indiscretion at some point or another. I couldn't spend someone else's money and not feel A LOT of guilt. Then everytime I looked at what I bought, I'd feel more guilt. I don't like feeling guilty. :guilty:

And what's up with that family who didn't want to share a table? I wonder if they let them have a table all to themselves. :confused3 It wouldn't make it right if they did, but if you create enough of a stink, you'll most likely get your way.

And to answer your question, yes, DH FINALLY hooked up DSL! :yay: I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I cannot wait to go home and see what hi-speed looks like on my computer!!!!

Thanks for the update. Can't wait for the rest...
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the did gave them their own Hibachi table. In some form or shape, that's probably a good idea. I am not sure I want to seat with them anyway.
I am just joining in on your report. So far I've only read the last update but I am in love with your pictures!! I also like the way you tell your story. I was laughing out loud a couple of times. :lmao: Sorry to read about your wallet!! But glad that you guys still had a good vacation. There should also be more gentlemen like you and my DH. He also would stand to offer his seat on a bus. ;) I loved your review of Teppen Edo. We eat at our local hibachi quite frequently. We love the food and the show and sitting with strangers helps us to come out of our shell. :rotfl:

Ok, I'm off to read from the beginning..........
Thanks. You are going to have a lot to catch up then. I don't really care for Hibachi because they all taste the same to me. However, this one I have to say it's very good.
So excited to read another great update! I can't believe that your wallet has never turned up. The way you were writing I was certain it was turned in and in your possession long before you left WDW. My guess is that someone saw its contents when you were in DHS and they lifted it from your pocket. :sad2: They will be held accountable someday. Kudos to you though for putting a positive spin on it for your wife so it wouldn't ruin her vacation. My DH does the same thing. I also have to commend you for giving up your seat to women and children. I do the same thing myself. I even squeezed in a child who was dripping wet so he could sit and the bus was PACKED like sardines in a can. We need more people to be considerate of others in this world.
Now for the food. Your pictures were, as always, excellent. It is a bummer that they don't serve smoothies there, but I might have tried the tea. DW salad looked good and of course so did your dessert! I was also glad to see there wasn't anything served on foam of anything ! :lmao: I am not an adventerous eater so this is one resturant that is not on my to try list. I'll just stick to my smoothie and dessert WDW diet. ;)
That leaves us with sore legs, pokey foot and the missing Mickey glass. Carmel corn anyone? popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: Anxiously waiting......!
Oh no!! Not the foam again. LOL...

I just can't stand watching those poor kids bounce around inside the bus without a seat. It bugs the heck out of me.

I am sad that your wallet did not turn up. We lost our camera in Epcot a couple of years ago and it never turned up either.:headache:
Your foot is concerning me!!
How many people sit at the Hibachi table? I would love to try this but we are a party of 8 adults and 1 child this summer and I do not think we will all fit at one table. I might have to wait for a trip when it is just my own family!!
Keep the reports coming they are great!!:goodvibes
Oh no! You lost your camera. That sucks!

Maximum capacity for each Hibachi table is 8 adults. So you have more than enough people to fill up a table.
Don't feel weird taking pictures of your food....

You are not the only one:goodvibes of course I don't have your fantastic camera equipment! Wish I did!

I loved that resturant! It's our new favorite ... for now, it changes quite often!
Great shot!! :thumbsup2 It's also very hard for me to determine which restaurant is my favorite. Each yone has its' own specialties.
That looks yummy! I've never eaten at this restaurant, but definitely want to try it now.

TD, sorry about your wallet. You are truly a gifted story-teller.
WOW! Thanks. That's the most unusual compliment I ever got.
I am thoroughly enjoying your TR! I've been reading for a while and subscribed some time ago but I don't think I ever delurked.

I'm so sorry your wallet was never returned, but happy that you didn't let it ruin your trip. Your photographs have inspired me to try to learn more about my camera and photography before our upcoming trip so that I can get some good pictures...they won't be as amazing as yours, but you have definitely inspired me to learn more and try harder!

And it's wonderful to know that there are still gentlemen left in this world. It was so gallant of you to give up your seat on the bus...I wish more men were like that.
Yay! Another lurker coming out. So glad you decide to join us and didn't leave.

You must practice, practice and more practice on your photography before your trip. Don't be afraid to make bold adjustment. Some time, the best shot is the most unexpected shot. The more you know how to use your camera, the more creative you can be.
Another great update!!

Sorry about the wallet. I still think a wallet with a chain is in your future!:lmao:

My DH was looking over my shoulder while I was reading and saw the pics from Teppan Edo. Now he wants to go there! My DD 13 and I are not at all interested in that kind of thing.
However, I have a question. Is it common knowledge that you will have to share a table with other families?? I've never researched this place because it just doesn't interest me. Here's my point. Why would someone who didn't want to sit with strangers choose to eat here? That would be like me complaining that I have to see fish while I eat at Coral Reef or that Tigger is at the Crystal Palace. Now, of course, if sharing tables is not common then I totally see why a family would be upset by this. Just asking:confused3

Where do we go next?popcorn::
I had a wallet with a chain a very very long time ago. So not me. :lmao:

The Hibachi table can only seat up to 8 adults. Therefore, if you only have 3 or 4, then you must share the other 4 or 5 seats with other people. Unless it's an extreme slow day, then they will make an exception. Almost all the Hibachi restaurant work that way. I can only guess that family who want to have their own table might came from a different country. Who knows? After all, it's Disney. They have guests coming from all over the world.

Hey Topdog. The line talker had me cracking up. I'd be eye rolling and yawning as well. The food looked awesome - loved the pics as always. Sorry to hear about your missing wallet. That's a bummer. I can relate on the late night over-stimulated and can't sleep thing. Even though I'm tired when I get home at night (usually around 10 PM), I can't just go to bed. I have to watch something, read something, or do something for a while first. I can't wait to see how the rest of the trip turns out.
Trust me...I closed my eyes many time during the wait. At some point, I think I might've snore too. :lmao::lmao:

As for the rest of the trip...disaster has just begun.
I really enjoyed this latest report. :thumbsup2 but I am sad that you didn't find your wallet. :guilty: You have a great attitude, though, so as not to spoil your vacation. :wizard:

As always, great pictures. We went to this restaurant on our last trip and had a blast. The kids even ordered the sushi (the first time they had ever had any) and they said it was very good. Me, I don't do any seafood, so I was glad they ordered it and enjoyed it.

Looking forward to your next post. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes
Thanks. I am not a fan of sushi either. I just can't do it. I rather do the foam thing. :rolleyes1
Hey, TD! Just stopping by again to let you know that I am at home on DSL. This rocks!

Also I didn't mention in my earlier post that I certainly felt for you when reading about the guy in line - what torture to have to listen to a "know it all" for a solid hour with no escape. Certainly hope the ride on TT was worth all that!

Wonder if he impressed his girl? My guess is no, he most likely bored her to death or at the very least put her in a coma. She probably needed CPR after her date was over to revive her. :lmao: That was mean, but I've heard guys like that before - OBNOXIOUS!!!!!
Finally!!! :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo: You got DSL. No more long wait.

If he kept changing the subject, then it wasn't so bad. Instead, all he talked about was engine, brake, safety, paint and even dummy technology for an hour. Yikes!!! I just couldn't take it anymore.:mad:

Another quick question. I stopped by Home Depot today on my way home trying to pick up the LGMH paint chip. Never realize there were so many different type. So I picked 2 and grabbed a small stack of each. One is called Alien Green and the other is called Sonic Boom. Which is the correct one?? They both look lime green to me. :confused3

It's this one, Alien Green:

lgmhpc.jpg

(I actually already had that in my photobucket, from a project 2-3 years ago!).

Sorry about the wallet -- anywhere we could look for it when we're there next month?

I love the hibachi grills with shared tables -- usually really good food (at least at local ones).

Alien Green...............I have about 30 of them. Every time I go to home depot I snag a few more.:goodvibes
I am sure that sonic boom would work as well!!!!!!!!!

EXCELLENT update!!! And kudos to you for being such a gentleman on the bus. You make the world a better place. :goodvibes

Don't worry about the wallet. If it hasn't shown up in 3 months, I am sure it's a goner. That's like finding a needle in a hay stack. I appreciate the thought though. Just enjoy your trip and come back with a TR.

Hmm....sounds like a warning...
Yes! ::yes::

People do all sorts of creative things with them!

I write my DIS username on two mickey heads using black magic marker, then laminate them together back to back. I attach it to my park bag (like a luggage tag). I've met a few DISers in the parks that way.

They may not recognize ME, but they recognize the lime green mickey head!

That's an excellent idea. Thanks. Now the gears are grinding inside my head. Look out!!

If you think I am kidding about my DW, think again. ;)

Thanks Ledger. Teppan Edo was really a fun restaurant. As for the poky foot...just stay tune. I didn't name my TR "What a disaster!!" for no reason.

BTW, I meant to ask you after I read your old TR from 07. Since you work for your father, are you an accountant or bookkeeper for your father?? You know...ledger??

Very cool picture of your DW. Don't mess with her for sure!!

Oh I am staying tuned for sure. I don't want to miss out on an installment now.

:rotfl::rotfl:I see you're already calling me Ledger before you even asked the question. :lmao: I guess you could sort of call me a book keeper. My Dad calls me his General Office Manager. I do pretty much everything from answer the phones, to payroll, to paying bills for the company to cleaning, to keeping up with what company has paid what and how much money is in the checking accounts etc etc etc. It's a very small company (only 15 employees) so it's easier just to have me do all that stuff.

Oh and thanks for reading my old TR! I hope you enjoyed it :thumbsup2

Yeah you got a LGMH!!!! You'll need them for your next trip.

I love the pic of your DW. I will not mess with her. I like the little girl in the background too.

Will wait patiently for the next update.popcorn::

WOW!! You are the GOM. I hope you dad pay you well.

I thought your old TR was pretty witty. I love the picture of your DH wore that so called "XL" life vest for the boat trip. :lmao::lmao: You two look great together.

Absolutely for the next trip.

I have a lot of DW's action pictures too when you she used to went for competition. That little girl at the background was from the same school too. I have a lot of kids picture doing those Karate competition. Can you guess what kind of volunteer work I used to do for the Karate Dojo tournament??

DW can and will kick my behind any time. :lmao::lmao:

Mrs. Topdog rocks! :cheer2:

I am sorry you didn't get your wallet back, but think you are very wise for making the good memories and magic of your trip be the priority. That is priceless! :goodvibes

Also knew you were the kind of guy that would give up your seat on the bus. My DH and sons always do and I think it is very sweet. :lovestruc

We love Teppan Edo! Enjoyed reading your thoughts about it and seeing the awesome photos. :woohoo:

I'm really sorry that you didn't get your wallet back. I'm glad that you didn't let it ruin your trip though. I finally caught up on everything I had misssed. Life got busy for me the last few weeks. Can't wait for your next installment!!

Thanks. I just want to enjoy the trip. The camera bag incident was enough drama for me already.
