What a difference a year makes.....do you remember???

Well here I sit at work. Thinking back about a year. Thinking about how mad I STILL was about our cancelled 11/30/02 Eastern sailing. Still stewing about all the mishaps with DCL and our "replacement" vacation. Surfing the web just figuring out a way I could tell the world how "the rat"(that was me referring to the mouse, a.k.a. DCL) screwed me!! Well I found this link from "the cruise critic". That is when I started "venting". That's when I began heated discussions with MANY of you. Yes, I wrote "the letter" as many suggested and yes, DCL did respond with a great "apology package" for us. And yes, with your advice I took the offer and sailed 11/29/03. I no longer call Mickey "the rat" and yes, most of all I have made many friends. I read some threads about people complaing about DCL (and yes, that is what brought me to these threads) and I wonder........will they ever come to the "other side". Get off the complaining and realize how lucky they are to even have the oppertunity to, 1) still have their loved ones in their lives, and 2) be fortunate enough to afford a WDW vacation.....and some of us MULTIPLE times!! How many people have lost loved one or can't even afford the simple things in life.......like housing and food.

So look.........one year, and exactly 800 posts later...............what a difference a year makes!!!!!!!!!!!

me, my son, and my father was going to cruise in late october but because of my fathers health reasons we had to postpone our vacation.well one of the days we were supposed to be on vacation my father passed away. just because a trip gets cancelled or something bad happens on a trip doesn't mean that its the end of the world. me and my son are going in may and i know my father will be there with us.

So much has happened since then to put it all in perspective. If we are still able to chat once in a while , then it must have been a good year..
