hi all,
not to worry today is turning out much better so far.so i start my day yesterday at 8 am,I'm up early because i have to do a double at work.that's 16 hours of fun,fun,fun.so i get up and find twinkie our son's hampster dead in his cage
.he was old,but seemed to be acting fine all week.i guess it was just old age.our son is taking it very well,next i get to work and me and a couple of the guys decide to give the rig a real good cleaning.anyway i slip on the wet soap soaked floor,i did not fall but my right leg went to the side causing me to squat quick and i ripped my pants in the tush area 
,i have extra pants at work so after everyone was done laughing at me i went and changed my pants.
I figured that would be the last thing to go wrong yesterday,but wait i was wrong.around 5 pm,we get a run for a auto extraction.I'm driving the rig westbound,right lane and the guy driving the brand new mustang 3 lanes over from me.decided that if he could get behind us,he would have his own escort thru traffic.he judged it wrong and slammed into us just behind, my clean,freshly washed,sparkling shined, rear tire.he then doesn't feel the need to stop and trys to take off.bad news for him that a police car going to the same emergency run as us 1 block behind us.saw the whole thing and the nypd caught him 9 blocks away.as for me and my guys there was no injurys,except for my hand which was cramped from all the millons of pages of paper work i had to do back at the fire house.other than that no one got hurt and that's what is important.i really felt bad for this kid driving the mustang, he got locked up and thousands of dollars in fine's as well as his drivers lic. revoked right at the scene for failure to remain at a accident scene.failure to obey emergency vechile,tailgating a emergency vechile and failure to give the right of way to a emergency vechile,as well as a couple of more ticket's. the rig has a very mild gash,but it was not even that bad.all in all it could have been a lot more tragic,it turned out to be not so bad.as long as no one got hurt,the rig and other car can be replaced or fixed.have a great day all.
