Hi All,
What a roller coaster of a day. We started off traveling to the hospital for Slink to have what is called simulation or mapping done of his chest and neck- the areas where they will shoot him with radiation starting next week. This would also include having to have 6 tattoos dots put on him. He was a nervous wreck. Just before we got to the hospital I started to receive an array of pictures on my cell phone. Our dear sweet friend Bears took time out of her morning and sent Slink all kinds of photos of all the new stuff going on in VMK. He was able to look at them all and take his mind off of the procedure a head of him. He as all excited about VMK and could not wait! He wanted to get this done so he could go home and play.
Was a long ride about 4 hours total round trip to and from hospital and luckily he fell a sleep on the ride home. Saved my poor husband a long ride of listening to Slink and I talk about VMK non-stop . Once we got home he disappeared into his room. All of a sudden he races out of his room-eye wide and looking kind of pale and said OMG mom youre not going to believe this I instantly thought something was wrong. Then he blurts out I won best guest room. I was like NO WAY. So once again VMK lifted the heart and spirits of a kid who has been on a roller coaster of a ride in his life for the last 6 months. Not sure how he would have gotten through everything without his VMK.
So thank you VMK for making him and happy and Bears for always being there and to all my VMK friends for all your thoughts and prayers. We would not have made it this far without all of you and his brave strong will to win this battle!
