I just started getting into yoga through my Biggest Loser Yoga DVD with Bob (love him!). I really like doing it (which is amazing that I have found something I like). The 30 minute issue is huge for me because I know I will always have time for this! No excuses.

Although I REALLY like this one and have not become bored, I'm worried that I will eventually so want to buy a few more DVDs and thought I'd ask my DIS friends! Any opinions? :)

There's a really great series called "Power Yoga" by Baron Baptiste. It is a three-level dvd series that will allow you to challenge yourself as your skills progress, plus it's nice to have some variety. I have been practicing yoga for 10+ years and this is always one that I go back to when I am looking for something to do at home. His teaching style is very good and really allows you to customize the poses to your skill level.

Hey, Doing yoga is really a great thing to do, as it helps in maintaining our health and to keep our body in the shape. For staying healthy we don't need to perform all the yogas, which are carried out through out the globe, but you need to select some of the most important or essential yoga which will suite you the best.

I love all videos from Gaiam. Target sells a lot of them. Also check out the pilates as well. If you like yoga, you might enjoy pilates.

Thank you! Good to know it's tried and true. :goodvibes

Also to the person who told me about Gaiam, I have heard of that and we are going to Target today AND I have a gift card, so I'll definitely check those out.

Thank you for your replies!!

Oh, and I have tried Pilates and really liked it. I used to go to classes but my membership got to be too much moolah. I do have the Mary Windsor Pilates, which is my 2nd most used DVD, and it's only 20 minutes.

I do like to hike, kayak, ski, etc., but it's so hard for me to find things at home to do in the summer with my kids home. That's why I love these short ones. I do really enjoy how I feel after yoga and Pilates though. It's actually helped my lower back, which I've had problems with and I've always had not the greatest posture, and I think it's helped with that too. The yoga seems easier on my back though so I haven't done my Pilates one in a while.

Thank you!

look on youtube there is countless free options to browse and do right from the streaming. You may find a instructor you really like or maybe even a whole new form of it that you like. :thumbsup2

I like pilates too. I have and really like the Pilates for Dummies but its not that easy to jump to the different ones and I wish I could do that.

My cable has excersize on demand and has lots of pilates and yoga shows. Free once I pay my cable bill which I have already budgeted.

Another option, if you have an iPod that plays video, is to go to iTunes. In the search box type 'yoga', and then go to the podcast section of the results. I've downloaded a few of the podcast episodes, which are videos..free.

Good idea about youtube! And I am the only one in my family with an Ipod shuffle still. I'm going to ask for an Ipod (refurbed from Apple of course) for my bday so good to know about the podcasts.

I forgot to look at Target but found a whole table of Gaiam DVDs at Borders. I had a 33% off coupon plus a gift card I had received for Mother's Day, so I bought a Rodney Lee one that has 5 20-min yoga workouts. He had a back one that I might go back and get, but maybe I'll youtube it first. There were a few that needed a block and bands, which I don't have, but those could be bday ideas too if they are really helpful. I do have problems doing side planks because my wrists seem weak and it hurts to do it.

Thanks for the info!!

Netflix has a few, they tend to rotate them out after a few months. It took a lot of digging to find any of the instant ones but if you do some searches they will pop up. I wish Netflix was a little easier to navigate if you don't know a specific title.

I wonder if my library has workout DVDs? I've never seen them there, but I will definitely look next time I'm there.

So, I did the Rodney Yee one this morning and I could see how it would be great after some cardio, but I'm going to search for one more similar to Biggest Loser's Weight Loss Yoga; I'm sweating, tired and can really feel it when I'm done, but I didn't feel that way after the one I did this morning.

I have a Rodney Yee one for athletes. I started it years ago when I was not in "yoga shape" and it was not easy. I'm sure I would enjoy his others, as will you. For the others that take a band and block. For a block, use something like a can of veggies and for the band, use a small towel. Target will often put their yoga stuff on clearance. I got a mat with strap for $6. I really just wanted the strap since my mat only had a bag. But it was cheaper to buy it that way.

Do you have access to On Demand? If so, they have a whole section of exercise on there. I love going there on days when I'm home and haven't been in the pool.

Yeah, I'd do the library thing. I also love my yoga I do on the Wii Fit, same as you, not bored but wanted to see more. I got two yoga dvds and found I do not like them at all. Just the way they flow or something. I like the Wii doing a pose at a time. I can't really pin point it, but I hate the videos. Wasted $30 on them, wish I had thought of checking the library (or you tube). :rolleyes1
