What’s your favorite soup?

Looking to be another rainy fall weekend here in New England so I decided to make some potato soup today. It is simmering on the stove now and smells so good!

Always looking for new soup ideas, so tell me your favorites!

Cold Rainy weather? Split Pea with Ham

I made a big pot of homemade New England Clam Chowder last weekend. I'm not a big soup eater, but it hit the spot on a cool weekend. Should have saved it for today, its rainy and cool outside.

Does Chili count as a soup? I also like that.

My Mom used to love this and I always hated it as a kid. But you mentioning it just made me think I should definitely make some and try again! Thanks for the idea!

Hamburger cabbage soup. We call it fart soup. Great with rolls or biscuits, and very reminiscent of cabbage rolls but without all the work.

My grandmother made a wonderful string bean soup. It had fresh green beans, potatoes, chunked tomatoes, and other things I can't recall, all in a wonderful broth. My Aunt Linda has the recipe, but for some dumb reason refuses to part with it.

I love Manhattan clam chowder.

Love soup in the winter (still too hot here). We have some kind once a week

Meat and beans. I once had a buffalo chili that was really good too. So if there's meat in it, does that make it a stew? I just posted a thread about this. It's an age-old query.

Out at a restaurant? Lobster bisque

I love a nice French onion soup, but it isn't something I get too often. More commonly, I like a chicken tortillia or hot & sour if at a Chinese restaurant.

Chicken gnocchi or chicken tortilla are our favorites. I also love ham and potato.

I love making soups. My favorites include split pea with sausage, lentil soup, chicken noodle, and minestrone. Last weekend, I made the lentil and it came out so yummy.

My mom's vegetable soup was a favorite of mine. I can still get versions of it within the community but it's just not hers.

My favorite that I make is beef vegetable. I use my leftover vegetables and roast beef. I add carrots, celery and onions, a can of tomatoes and beef stock. It’s so good. Tonight, I’m making tomato soup following a Natasha’s Kitchen recipe.

I make a lot of soup in the fall and winter. We often have it for dinner the first night and then I freeze it for my lunches. Typically I make: Manhattan Clam Chowder, Wedding, Chicken Noodle, Vegetable Beef, Split Pea with Ham, Tortellini (I don’t freeze this one, tortellini gets gross)and Potato.

My favorites are probably the Manhattan Clam Chowder and the Wedding.
