What’s next for you?

Initial purchase was fall of 2020. Purchased 2 resales since then. Looking to buy more small to mid point contracts. Would like to stay with same October UY but they seem so hard to find. Might have to try another month?

Continue to check resorts off our list; it's probably quite a while yet until we start with the "bucket list" items another poster mentioned (Cabin, Bungalow, etc.) so the kids are older and can appreciate it more.

Deciding if we want to add small direct contracts piecemeal (our UY seems very hard to get) or buy a larger resale contract at one of our preferred resorts.

Hope that the insane BCV prices come down one day.

My answer and my wife’s answer would be entirely different. My answer? I’d like to buy another 50. I have 100 at PVB, 50 at BWV, I’d like to add another 50 at VGF. In the meantime, we have a 6 night stay booked at BCV for this summer, plan to take next year off (we’ll see if that happens), then plan on a 14 night stay at PVB in the summer of ‘23. 2 weeks at the Polynesian has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager, never thought I’d be able to do it until I bought DVC!

I will probably buy some more points at some point, but not for a while unless a particularly good deal shows up. I have 432 points right now at 5 different resorts. I do not own any of the Monorail resorts, so might like a small number of points at one of the three.

We are new owners with 300 points at Riviera.

I already got to addonitis once and changed from 275 to 300 before we closed :rolleyes1

I'd love to have more, but realistically I think we are good for now and would not increase the amount until we have kids. So maybe we will revisit the points situation in about 5 years.

We will likely buy just enough at the new Disneyland Tower for 5-ish nights in a studio every 3 years...

Other than that, we are good...

We have owned BWV since 2007. No plans to sell or add on. We stayed a couple of times in a club level suite at Gran Destino, and were hooked. I would rather book additional trips there and enjoy booking flexibility than deal with more DVC points at this point.

After resale contract closes in weeks, we plan on adding on 25 points direct.
Small 25 point contracts are near the same price as direct after paying dues/closing costs!

We are on hold for now - I was tempted to add on and made two offers pre-COVID and then changed my mind.

We have started taking longer winter/spring trips. This year was our first 15 nights (Disney and Vero) and looking to book 16 nights for 2022 (already booked 10 nights/Disney).

Enjoying our points - two trips a year for now.

This is my plan too. Working towards that blue card and have points to use at Riviera and future resorts. I bought my quantity on resale.

Gran Destino CL looks amazing. Good to hear you enjoyed it. It’s been on our radar. I made DH pull in as we were driving past on our last trip. Gorgeous! and the reviews for the CL lounge have been fantastic. Hope to get there one of these years, lol.

Currently have 250 points SSR we bought resale. Looking to buy 150 points direct next spring. Gearing up for the big family trip in the fall of 2023

Super happy with my 2 VGC contracts, those will hold until they expire likely. Depending on the price, I'm hoping to be able to afford a small add-on at the Disneyland Hotel Villas, enough for another weekend each year in the fall.

I keep eyeing BCV contracts, have been for almost a decade. Sometimes I kick myself for not buying resale BCV when it was $80ish a point when I picked up my second VGC contract back in '10.

Me too. But depending on how long it takes for the prices to come down, it might not be worth it when it does. If there's only 10 years left with high dues, what's the point? But I only want 80ish points for an every 3 years visit, have been transferring points in when I want them instead and will likely continue to do that.

I think I still have 1-2 more add ons in my future. I would like to add some DLH points (probably about 100) when that comes available to go with my 100 at VGC. I am local to DL so like doing 2-4 staycations per year there. I would also like probably another 100-150 points for WDW resorts so I can have my long trip in a 1 BR moving forward. I suspect I am really going to like the 1 BR this fall and will want to always have one on the longer trip. This will be a resale for sure, but honestly not sure where yet or if I feel strongly about 1 resort over any others.

Hold for now but selling is on the table. We were not able to use our contract in 2020 or 2021 (border is closed). We are too nervous to travel anyway. If things don’t improve and allow travel for 2022, we will have to sell. No point in having dvc if we can’t go. It will break my heart to sell because we won’t be able to go at today’s prices. Hoping things improve and I can get there at least by October 2022.
