What’s next for you?

Soon moving to Fla in retirement mode. Planning many short stays and trying more 1 bedrooms in some higher point resorts for fun. Looking forward to family and grandchildren visits too. Happy just as we are!!!!!!

Going to ride out my 2042 contract with an annual or 2 every 3 years trip. By then my small contract at VGC may be all I want. I think it is getting too expensive to buy any more points. Would rather wait and pay cash (Maybe...) I do love the deluxe resorts

Finally bought some SSR direct points for my blue card! Trying to sell one of my resale contracts to recoup some of the cost. Listening to mouse house radio and Disney music loops to cure my mania since my next trip won’t be until December.

Sell some/buy some - continue with our current 3-4 trips a year and maybe throw in some solo trips once I retire. I’m not interested in RIV (location, points chart and don’t like the Skyliner) - prefer resorts that I can walk to the parks - maybe some more BLT or VGF...even though I’m older, I’d definitely be interested in whatever replaces BC/BWV - for me, it’s all about LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

We have been members for 20+ years (BWV & HH) and recently just added on at SSR, I have been thinking about it for a couple of years now, but was waiting for our son to finish college. Then the whole borrowing restrictions hit and felt now was just as good of time as any to do the add on. I've come to really like SSR, with walking access to DS. I'm feeling pretty good about where I stand now.

Addonitis is real! If you had asked me at the end of March what our plans were, I would have said we have 1000 points and that is enough to do what we need. But "Location. Location. Location".

And we are at BWV for our first stay (normally we are at VGF, although we own at CC and now VGF and RIV). DH has fallen in love with walking to Epcot. So even though its a 2042 resort, and that only gives us a little over 20 years, we are going to start looking for a resale at BWV (or BC). If the right contract pops up (use year, point amount), we'll make an offer. We are early 50's so the 2042 expiration doesn't bother us too much.

At some point, we may sell off some of the CC points (we bought 600 points initially, but had it broken into 3 200 contracts so we could give to our children).

I've been toying with selling out my 50pt BWV contract and in turn using the funds to buy a 75-100 Riviera resale contract. But the lack of resale contract supply coupled with the higher than expected resale prices have kinda made that tough to accomplish. 50pts at BWV goes so much further for our short Epcot F&W or F&G trips that a comparable RIV stay that I just can't see myself "paying up" to go direct at RIV. We also have a 200pt BLT we picked up direct when it first opened that has been the perfect contract for our needs.

I think we are firmly in the camp of keep/use what we already have.

I'll be 63 this year. I'm just right with my 345 OKW points, which probably sounds like a lot of points for an old single guy, but I'm not looking to sell or add-on to my membership. Just over the last few years have I started occasionally staying at different DVC Resorts, if they are available at 7 months. If not, I am perfectly happy at OKW, and my Big Thanksgiving week trip with 11 people, this year is at OKW. Glad I had points to burn due to the Pandemic, so I secured a GV and a 2 Bedroom lock-off for my group. Usually I travel 2x a year, usually in a 1 bedroom.

I would like to add that while I am eyeing the DLH Tower for an add-on, I'll have to think hard about it if it's in the $250-$300 per point range. At that rate, for being across the country, we'd probably do just as well to stay cash for 3 or so nights every 3 years...

Since we moved to Central Florida, we really don’t need as many points as we have. I’ve been renting them out but considering selling half and keeping half for the occasional trip to Disneyland or Hawaii, or a weekend at Vero or Hilton Head.
