What’s for dinner?

One of the man’s favorite meals was on the table tonight: Asian brined pork tenderloin, sweet potato mash and sautéed spiced pears. OK hé liked apples instead of pears but that’s the fruit that looked nicest at the market. Sorry he missed it.
Dessert was a crème brûlée for DGG. I’m trying to hold off the sweetie until breakfast.

Just a heads up, rhubarb is in the produce aisle now so something delicious to think of.

Well.
Woke up bright and early.
Started making a variety of wontons for freezer and dinner.
Got a call from youngest sister requesting I meet her to pick up her mail at 1:00 PM. Got back home at 2:30 and goodness me but the bed was calling me.
Fought the feeling until I’d finished making all the dumpling fillings promising self I’d get back up at 5:00 and assemble at least one batch for dinner.
Yes so we had tuna fish sandwiches for dinner and tomorrow is another day for the dumplings,

Pork roast, potato cakes & spinach.
Why wasn’t your dinner here when I trudged into the kitchen last night??
I so love spinach (could eat it by the pot) and now I’m off to the market to grab some. And and maybe some bok choy and more carrots too. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

I'm glad I was able to give you a bit of inspiration. I'm constantly wishing I was eating dinner at your house. Everything you post sounds delicious.

I'm low on groceries and very low on motivation but I was even less interested in eating another bag of miscellaneous yuck passed to me through a window. I went with one of those "clean out the fridge" pasta dishes; a half-dozen slices of bacon chopped and sauteed with a small bag of frozen scallops, green onion and dried basil. Then I sauced it up with garlic butter and the last half of a pint of heavy cream and finished with chopped tomato. I faked some garlic toast out of aging hot dog buns and luckily the end of a bag of mixed greens hadn't quite wilted yet so I managed a salad.

That sounds good.

I have a roast beef and roasted potatoes in the oven right now. I will have steamed zucchini too.

That sounds good.
Yeah, it was fine. I'd make something very similar only with a few extra ingredients if I'd had them. And I made myself laugh by confessing the hotdog bun garlic toast, remembering a recent CB thread. I'm formally on the record insisting I'd never use bread as a hotdog bun but apparently I'm good with using hotdog buns as bread.

We'll forgive you this time. FWIW, I've eaten many hotdogs on loaf bread & also make garlic toast on hamburger & hotdog buns, when they're getting old.
