It’s not those kids that did it, it’s ALL OF THOSE BYSTANDERS, taking video, watching it and NOBODY did a single thing to help that kid!

If you were the parents or a family of that kid, wouldn’t you ask this question, why haven’t anyone help that poor kid???

Please talk to your kids, show them the video and explain what should be done in order to help someone in trouble.

THAT is why my generation gets such a bad reputation. It's disgusting and horrifying and repulsing and appalling. I am EMBARRASSED with the human race that someone would actually stand there and video tape that child being beaten to death. I hope to heck ANYONE involved in this case, whether they were an on-looker, an attacker, or someone who just stood back and did nothing, meets their day with their Creater and feels disgusted with themselves. What in the world compels someone to think "oh hey, I don't like that kid, let's go beat him to death"? Aggravating! My generation needs a wake-up call and they need it fast.

It's the mentality of many kids today, especially in the inner-cities. Anyone who tries to "help" is going to just get pummeled anyway...perhaps even killed.

Personally, I'm glad those who were able to video it did just that. Without the video, the police might not have caught these animals.

What would you suggest people do to help someone in trouble? They turned in the video and tried to get the kid help. Had you been there, what would you have done differently? I feel for the kid and his family but I dont know that anyone could have done anything.

Well murder is pretty infuriating. Not really sure why there is any need to take away from the memory of this boy's life and ultimately tragic death for some sort of political angst.......

Why would this not get more rage than politicians......500 years from now politicians will still be lying to us.

My mom grew up in this area. It happened near the HS she would have went to if she had went to public school. The catholic school she attended was torn down years ago. It is an area with a huge gang problem. The area is very poor. My grandparents left 30 or so years ago.

It is sickening. Kids from that area have no chance. This violent gang filled lifestyle is all they know. Kids like Derrion Albert get caught in the cross fire all the time. Not joining a gang is as dangerous as being in one.

I don't know how anyone can deny our inner cities are in trouble.

Any one trying to stop the fight would have likely been beaten too.

Well, that kid didn't do anything an he IS DEAD!!!

The onlookers outnumbered those fighters like 10:1, they didn't have to fight, they could have stopped the fight without fighting.

But, as long as they have been warned: "if you do something, you may die"...

First and foremost, those kids gathered around to watch the reality show. Bet you they didn't realize the magnitude of what's happening until after the fact. Or were they afraid because they may die, I don't know.

But, IMO those kids doing nothing are guilty of doing nothing, and I think that every night when they lay in bad they wonder, if there was something they could have done to save an innocent life.

Did the person with the camera at least call the police? I could see not walking up in the crowd and start swinging but I just can't imagine standing there with a camera and not doing anything.

It is so sad that we have raised and are raising a whole group of citizens that place no value on human life. (meaning the killers, not the by standers)

So sad, I hate that these children don't have a chance at a happy, loving childhood. This is the first I've seen of this story, just curious, was there a motive or do they know why this child was targeted?
