Is anyone here a student of Western Governor's University?

I don't want to debate about online education vs. traditional education, I am not asking for opinions. Just wondered if any other dissers are students there.

I am accepting my first classes in just a few minutes having just met with my mentor. My fa is in place and I have received my award letter. If anyone has an experience, is there any thing I need to double check before I accept my classes?

Just want to make sure all my bases are covered.

So far my experience has been great. The constant contact with a mentor/adviser and what looks to be easy access to each subject area's instructor makes it seem like better contact than I had with online classes from a traditional school. My experience with online has been a whole lot of being on your own and very little to no contact with the instructors (they would not return calls or emails). Everyone, so far, at WGU has answered all my emails in a very timely manner, they return calls right away and there is a standing phone appointment each week. There is also a chat line that you can keep open to talk with them right away.

I have checked and rechecked their accreditation and the acceptance of the degree with the State Board of Education (I am getting a degree in teaching), but its just that little twinge of "but, its an online school!" that is making me nervous. That and knowing I am diving off into a whole lotta work in the next few months!!

Actually, I was looking around for my husband. Not having a degree is holding him back at work. He would look into the IT field.

Online courses don't bother me at all. I am working on my Master's in Library Science and it is completely on line.
