4th December 2010
Yesterdays lazy day at left us with bundles of renewed energy and we headed to Animal Kingdom!! I dont know why I follow my tom tom for this park as every year it takes me to the staff entrance and every year when I chat with teh security guard I realise that we made the same mistake on previous trips!! The security guard this time asked us if we fancied a days work I jumped at the chance much to his alarm and he back tracked far quicker than was neccessary!!
When we finally found the correct entrance we wandered in and went straight round to camp minnie Mickey! Just as we got round the first corner we saw Stitch and Lilo so just had to wait to say HI.
The kids all ran to Stitch ignoring Lilo and she pretended to cry so Momy saved the day and gave her a hug quickly followed by Keira!
(Dont seem to have pics so photopass must have took them here!!)
So we ent back on track fro CampMinnie Mickey and just as we got over the bridge we saw Pocahontas and Meeko. Keira was practically gasping for breath at the sight of Meeko so we joined a very long line. We were about 3 from the front when the CM said Meeko had to go for a snack and only pocahontas would stay out to finish greeting the line.
Oh well never mind sometimes you win sometimes you lose!!
Keira seemed ok with it and declaed we keep an eye out for him later on.
We finally got through to Mickey and minnie and teh crowd from Lion King show was exited - not a good time to try and find the boys and Wayne. After a quick phone call we were reunited and the boys all said that the area had been dead until the lion king crowds filtered out so we hatched a plan to come back when the lion King had just started to see the characters!!
So I set the alarm on my phone and we headed for the safari!
The kids loved this and to be honest its the best safari we have ever done. It was quite a cool day today and so many animals were roaming about.
Then we criss crossed back to characters who were actually so quiet we spent ages with each one. So much so that we had to skip Minnie because the crowds from Lion King had exited again. I was very happy to see them in their christmas outfits as it made up for missing them atthe MVMCP.
We decided at this point to grab a funnel cake - we had never tried one but its a DIS favourite so I really wanted too. I gave it the thumbs up as did the kids and we were all covered in Icing sugar as we made our way into the theatre to see Lion King.
It was another one of those moments you know where you can feel goosebups and a lump in your throat.
As the song Can you feel the love tonight was being performed I looked across at my little family faces all lit up watching avidly & I could have scooped them all up there and then for a big sloppy kiss
As we exited the boys stopped for a quick picture by yet another christmas tree.
Then we hopped on the train to the discovery centre - another place we had never been before and I have to say it was good fun and again the kids had a ball whilst I had a nice sit down. All that was missing was a starbucks!!!
We split up after leaving here Girls to the left to find a spot for the parade and Boys to the right to go track down the yeti!!
They rode twice and appeared behind us as if by magic just as the parade was passing!
After the parade Keira was begging for popcorn and the boys wanted another go on everest so I went in search of popcorn while they once again went in search of the Yeti.
After meeting up we went round to the tacky dinorama and the boys insisted on going on primevial whirl - I sent Wayne as last year it made my back hurt with all the jostles and spins! Wayne said never again as he exited too
While we were waiting for them to return Keira and I had several goes on the triceratops spin!! Much more my kind of ride.
Just as I snapped another christmas tree we noticed Goofy and Pluto together for a meet n greet. A lovely cm told us the line was closed as was the park !!
I was amzed to look at my watch and find out we had filled a day and time really had flown by we had had so much fun !
So a quick picture of the christmas tree atthe entrance and we headed back to the villa.
Back at the villa I made some culinary delight and we decided on a game of Knockout pool!! I seem to recall that my hubby cleared the table against us all and we were all laughing that he was so competitive. A knockout air hockey however saw the kids win easily against the adults and Ben and Dan were crowned Joint champions.
We headed to bed with huge smiles and I had butterflies as I knew tommorow was going to be the biggest day of everyones lives but most all we were about to surprise Cameron and all his dreams really were going to come true!!
Day 14 here
