We've got the moves like Mickey....a January 2012 Trip Report

Subbing as well!

The unicorns are for Beastly Kingdom! Still holding out hope that if they're in the parking lot, some day Beastly Kingdom will actually come to be in the park. :)

The pictures of your wedding on your blog are so lovely! How lucky to get married in Hawaii. Definitely one of my dream destinations.

I am so ready to see more of your trip! You guys are HILARIOUS!!!!:rotfl2:

So excited to follow along! Is your brother blogging or doing a TR during his CP time? I can't wait to hear how his experience is going and how it compares to yours!

Hey there! Unfortunately, Trey isn't blogging during his CP (bad brother! ;)) but we did just go down to visit him and got some inside scoop so maybe I will post an update on his experiences at the end --- maybe he can be a guest writer!

I did not make that connection! Thanks for letting me know :)

And thank you for commenting on our pictures, we had a great time and can't wait to get back to the islands....but until then the Poly will have to do :rotfl:

more, more, more......:thumbsup2

yes, ma'am! :)

Thanks! Glad you are along for the ride. Good to know someone else finds us amusing...sometimes we wonder if it's just us :rotfl:

Haha, Animal Kingdom is my favorite park and I've been OBSESSED with the history ever since Avatarland was announced.

How long a flight is it to get to Hawaii from California? I feel like it's almost easier to get to there than Florida, which is so weird to me (East coast girl ;))! But yet so awesome, I love the climate/geography there.

I've only been inside the Poly once, and only inside the Grand Ceremonial House! Definitely need to go back and explore it more, such a great resort. I have so much traveling to catch up on. :rotfl:

Animal Kingdom is my husband's favorite park too! :goodvibes

From California, the flight to Hawaii is about 5 and a half hours give or take. Florida is about the same distance for us! Definitely makes for a long trip no matter where we are going but I'm glad to be smack dab in the middle of my two favorite vacation spots!!

You definitely have to go explore the Poly some more on your next trip! 'Ohana is almost always on our list...so good! I love the atmosphere there too. Plus, the Florida humiditiy (during the winter...not even close in the summer) makes me feel like I'm actually in Hawaii! :lmao:

I would love to stay at the Poly once but I just love the atmosphere at the POP (and the price too!) that I can't escape :thumbsup2

I think it's great that your brother is doing the College Program too. I'm actually still reading your trip report from when you were doing it. :thumbsup2

The music video was great. It looked like y'all had so much fun making it.

When I left you last we were saying adios to Animal Kingdom (I don’t know the African term…sorry!) and headed to Epcot.

While on our CP, Lisa and I fell in love with Spaceship Earth. I can’t even begin to imagine how many times we rode that attraction. EVERY time we rode it we made a ridiculous face for the camera, and EVERY time we thought it was hilarious. We had a 12:15PM ADR at Restaurant Marrakesh today and it was already 12PM but we really couldn’t pass by SE without riding it! Of course, Lisa and I sat together. This was our first ride on SE together since last May…that’s EIGHT months aka wayyyy too long. It was really great to fall back into our old routine of making crazy faces, thanking the Phoenicians, and pointing out the hidden Mickey’s…it was like no time had passed at all :goodvibes

Except, time was passing…a lot of it. The attraction stopped multiple times and we were getting closer and closer to our ADR time. Now, I wasn’t too worried about it because I knew that we weren’t going to be hours late so our reservation wasn’t going to be in jeopardy.

After seeing our future, we headed out and started making our way to Morroco. But then, we were distracted again by Club Cool….Trey’s “must-do” of Epcot. (did anybody else just get Stacy’s voice stuck in their head?! “…to show you the must dos that you really must do!”) After we tried our samples, filmed some video, and took some pictures, we really started making our way to lunch!

Lisa and I were VERY excited about this particular lunch (who am I kidding, we are excited for ALL Disney food) because we had eaten there on a whim for a friend’s birthday in May and were very pleasantly surprised. We both just remember wanting more of everything. So we all ordered the “appetizer for 2” except for Katie. I can’t quite remember what she got…(Lisa and Madre…help me out?!)

Everything was delicious as expected, but we had WAY too much food. During lunch we tossed around the idea of my mom going up and dancing with the belly dancer (when she invited up the kids) to put in the video but for some reason decided against it. :rotfl:

At the end of the meal I went to the restroom before heading back into the parks and had a very interesting experience. I hope I don’t offend anyone here but we all thought it was hilarious so I have to share! As I am in the restroom washing my hands, a lady in a stall “let one loose” and it was quite loud. Of course, I ignored it…but the lady next to her didn’t! Obviously her friend, she responded with a “niiiiiiice” and my jaw almost dropped to the floor. It was seriously SO funny. Their conversation continued for a bit and I had to leave before I started busting out laughing.

After lunch, we headed out and explored Epcot a little more and then decided to head to the most magical kingdom of all….THE MAGIC KINGDOM!

Great report (and video!!!) I am so excited, you are my first ever TR subscription....always seems I tune in to TRs that are long finished. Always great, but it will be fun to follow along and wait for each post.

I particularly appreciate TRs about parents and adult children who share the bond of Disney. :grouphug:

African is not a language, Tash

bahahahaha I think we pissed the ride attendant off because we were scrambling to get into the same car lol
