We've FALLen for WDW...An October 2010 PTR! New 10/14 TR Link Added

Have a wonderful trip!
Will you be reading anything in particular? I'm always interested in what other people are reading.

I have a long list of books that I want to read but I brought "Summer Affair" by Elin Hilderbrand. I read another of her stories and I loved it so much I read it twice. I actually didn't end up reading very much of it, I just spent my time by the pool either in the pool or just laying on the chair soaking up the sun.

Awesome PTR! Just read the whole thing!

We are heading down beginning of October too! It would've been great to meet up with you, but you'll have more fun on the cruise anyway! So exciting! Can't wait to read more on the change of plans!

Enjoy your trip to Vegas!

Thanks! We had a great time. I hope to get a mini TR up sometime soon but first there's laundry to do, grocery shopping, and house cleaning! Ugh...

Have a great trip to Vegas!

We had a really great trip! :) We did sooooooooo much walking, though!

Hope you have a fabulous time in Vegas :goodvibes

Thanks! I can't believe it's over already.

Hooray for a cruise! Have a great time in Vegas. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Glad to hear you had a great trip to Vegas. Where did you stay (I don't remember if you said).

We did have a great time (we actually got home Monday night)! :)

Glad to hear you had a great trip to Vegas. Where did you stay (I don't remember if you said).

Thanks! We stayed at Treasure Island. In retrospect I should have chosen something a little further south b/c although TI is located mid-strip, we spent the majority of our time south strip.

WONDER where we're going???

Okay, so maybe it was part impulse, part jealousy of hearing that everyone I knew and people I didn't (I literally mean everyone ;) ), and part wanting to have relaxation on our trip without the temptation of the parks...but it equals a DISNEY CRUISE! :)

Why DCL you ask?

Well, 1.) It's Disney, 2.) The dates worked out well compared to the other cruise lines, and 3.) DH and I watched an hour long show on the Travel Channel about DCL and we were both mesmerized and I recall DH saying something along the lines of "When are we going?" (No we did not watch this and immediately book the cruise. We actually watched this a few months back.)

We are now booked for the Oct. 3 sailing on the Disney Wonder! :) It is 4 nights, which means 3 full days of sun, fun, and food! This just opens up a whole new planning chapter but I'm okay with that. We will have 1 day at sea, a day in Castaway Cay, and a day in Nassau. Let's hope that the weather is great!

So your next question must be "but what about WDW"?

We are going to WDW, don't worry! We will spend one night at Pop Century before the cruise and 3 nights at POFQ after the cruise. I wanted CSR but it was no longer available. :sad2: Oh well! I took POFQ b/c I loved the atmosphere and although I didn't love our room (the accessibility of the shower was very awkward) we can now have beignets, a boat ride over to DTD, and a waterview room! (That's all that was available). I think one of my biggest disappointments was I had to give up our Le Cellier reservation. I also gave up California Grill and Narcossee's b/c we will have dining experiences similar to these on the cruise. I will keep checking for Le Cellier to open though. I was still able to fit in all of our must do breakfasts and I scored another reservation at Ohana! If I could get Le Cellier the trip would be 100% perfect in my eyes. Just kidding-it will still be amazing-but really. :lmao: I also added a reservation for Plaza lunch and Teppan Edo dinner.

So that's my update for now...summer is here in full force. This weekend we are going to visit my grandpa in northern IL on Saturday and going to a Father's Day/Birthday/Graduation party at my Uncle's on Sunday. I still have the floor to wash, polishing to do, vacuuming that needs to be done, bathrooms to clean, and washing of the floor to do. Not to mention the laundry that I'm behind on b/c of our trip! Jeesh...

yay!! i'm jealous you get to do the best of both worlds... cruises and Disney!!!

are you doing a DP?

Hi there! We were but we're not now that we've added the cruise. Although I may think about adding it nearer to the time we go because it's nice to have so you don't have to worry about paying cash for everything because you've already paid it! What about you?

The cruise sounds great! :yay: I hate to hear CSR wasn't available for you, but I'm a big POFQ fan (it's my fav disney resort, actually) so I'm happy to hear there was room for you there! :goodvibes

I'm with Courtney on the POFQ love, so your trip sounds absolutely WONDERful (haha, get it? :lmao: oooh, I crack myself up)

Keep trying for Le Cellier- I hope you get it!

Me too! I'm actually looking forward to staying at POFQ more and more because on our honeymoon we went to Nassau to stay at Sandals and stayed at POFQ in WDW, and we will be visiting both on this trip. :lovestruc

I'm right there with you on the jokes! The name of the ship just lends itself so perfectly. haha. I hope I get Le Cellier, too. I tried last night and no such luck! :sad2:

I'm officially the girl who cried "WONDER!"

DH and I canceled our cruise! That was short lived. DH can't justify the extra cost. We would need to come up with another $2000 to cover the difference of what we've already paid towards the trip and dining/souvenirs and such. There is no way we can save up that much money in 3 months. We couldn't take advantage of FD either and by switching back to staying at WDW the entire stay we can. DH said there would be many other opportunities to go on a cruise. :sad2: Oh well...

I feel really embarassed to post this announcement but I guess that's life. We extended our stay b/c of the cruise and we are going to keep it that way. So we get 8 nights at WDW now. Also, I was able to score a Le Cellier reservation for October 3. Now, back to the drawing board for ADR's.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear the cruise had to put off until another time! But that is a lot of extra money. I don't know a whole lot about cruises (never taken one) but I thought they were supposed to be relatively inexpensive? :confused3 It sounds like DCL isn't that way, so I totally understand wanting to save some money! But, on the bright side, at least you got Le Cellier! :woohoo: Are you going to switch back to CSR now, or stay with POFQ?

Oh, and do not feel bad or embarrassed about your announcement! People make changes to their trips all the time here! It's definitely normal DIS-behavior!

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I am thinking I'm going to lose followers b/c of my indecisiveness!

The total cost for the cruise, including transportation, insurance, our park tickets, and a pre-night room at WDW was about $2600. :scared1:

We switched back to CSR! (I'm so happy they had a king room available.) I really want to try a new resort this time around. The price difference from what we had booked (POFQ-3 nights with a waterview, no park tickets, no dining) was $545 and that includes 5 more nights at CSR, 9 day park hoppers, and free dining.

I'm sorry to hear you had to give up your cruise plans! But think of it this way ........ you get to stay a little longer this time AND maybe next year is the perfect year to cruise! ;)

It was nice to read that you had such a wonderful time in Las Vegas - love Treasure Island - do they still have the pirates fighting and sinking the ship! I loved to watch that! :thumbsup2

Yes, I am walking on air thinking of spending 7 full days in WDW! :)

Well, we didn't stay to watch the end of the show b/c it was not very good. They have changed it within the past couple years (or so I've heard and read). It's now very "adult" with girls dressed in barely any clothing saying things like "Of all the pirates to enter my cove..." Ay yi yi

I'm sorry to hear about the cruise! I bet it would've stunk anyway (just trying to help you feel better, there... ;) )

But SO happy to hear you didn't have to cancel the trip! A whole week in Disney is definitely something to be excited about.

Yeah, it would have stunk, you know with laying out in the sun and all. But-I can still do that in WDW, so all is okay! :)

Yeah, canceling the trip wasn't an option. We already had money saved/put away just not for a cruise, too! :)

Aww so sorry you had to cancel the cruise! I know you must be disappointed but don't be embarrassed! It happens to everyone, especially when it's concerning a Disney trip! You plan, and plan...and then make changes, and then plan some more! It will work out for you when the time is right....that's what I keep telling myself! The prices for the cruises are just astronomical... for the amount of money it would cost the two of us for the one I want to do, we could almost put a down payment on a house!

And now you get more time in WDW! :woohoo:

PS - glad you had a good time in Vegas! Never had the urge to go there...probably because I never have any money to gamble with...but maybe some day!

Have fun re-planning your ADRs! I wish I had something to PLAN!!!!! ;)

So sorry to hear about the cruise! I am sure it was for the best, though :goodvibes 8 nights at WDW is still awesome and YAY for Le Cellier!!! Still trying to score that ADR!

Taking a cruise on a different CL would cut the costs by half, if not more. I know that most people who take Disney Cruises swear up and down that they are the best and you get what you pay for but I think that I'll take my chances and choose to go on our first cruise with a different CL.

I am definitely excited about more time in WDW. Although, it seems that all of the extra "relaxing" time that I wanted is getting eaten up again and I don't even know why. I need to be realistic b/c I don't want to be "go, go, going" this entire trip!

DH and I didn't have very much money to gamble with but we budgeted only a set amount into our vacation and stuck with that amount. I had fun, but I have a hard time letting that money go. DH is much better at it than I am, next time I think I'll just stick to watching for the most part. Although I did love playing Pai Gow and Keno!

Thanks, I think I have almost all of my ADR's re-planned. I hope to get them posted tonight or tomorrow!

I think someone must have just let that Le Cellier ADR go and I snagged it up right away. I'm NOT letting it go!!! I almost booked it for our honeymoon and then decided against it, then I tried like mad to get it for our Dec. trip and I had no luck and then I booked it no problem this year and then let it go b/c of the cruise and was lucky enough to score it back (not the same time/day obviously). Good luck, just remember to keep trying b/c people cancel/change all the time! :)
