Thanks, we had a great time! We have a wedding to go to this weekend and then our summer starts to settle down. There are a few more birthdays/get togethers but we definitely won't have every day of every weekend full!

I am very excited about the ADRS. Today I am hoping to work on our OOP cost for them so I know what to start saving. My original plan for our arrival day was to go to EPCOT but it is opening day for F&W, so there will be LOTS of people.

I know... it's going to be super busy at Epcot that whole weekend. I'm hoping by visiting on Friday we'll avoid some of the Saturday/Sunday people. Thursday night is the only night we can see Fantasmic, otherwise we'd try to squeeze in some Epcot before the festival begins. We'll just have to make the best of the crowds!

Less than 100 Days left! It is so nice to see my ticker say 2 months, I thought it was never going to go by! I'm not getting super excited yet b/c there is still 7 weeks left until the kiddies I sit for go back to school and I am back on my easier schedule. Anyway...

I worked on my "Must Do" attractions at each park lists last week so I thought I would post those.

ANIMAL KINGDOM:

We will not have to leave AK at any specific time to get to an ADR as we are going to DTD that evening. We will probably get there around 11am. That leaves around 6 hours for:

-FOTLK
-Finding Nemo (NEW)
-Discovery Island Trails (NEW)
-It's Tough to be a Bug
-Jungle Trek/Exploration Trail (NEW)
-Expedition Everest
-Kali River Rapids (Depending on the weather...)

I don't mind if I miss...
-Safari (I know this may be a :scared1: to most of you but I don't want to overpack our day and I feel like each time I've been on it, it is the same. BUT- If I had kids, we wouldn't miss it!)
-Dinosaur (It jerks my body around too much for my liking and I close my eyes for the entire thing anway. I'm such a wuss.)

MAGIC KINGDOM:

-Splash Mountain
-Jungle Cruise
-Tiki Room (NEW)
-Pirates
-Liberty Square Riverboat (NEW)
-Haunted Mansion
-Philhar Magic
-Space Mountain
-TTA (NEW)
-Carousel of Progress (NEW)
-Stitch's Great Escape (NEW)
-Minnie & Mickey's Houses (These may be closed due to the construction going on.)

I don't mind if I miss...
-BTMRR (If we end up having time, sure, as long as the wait isn't too long.)
-Buzz Lightyear (I just didn't enjoy it all that much.)
...if you hadn't noticed I am only writing the things I don't mind if I miss that I believe are many other DIS member's favorites.

EPCOT:

-Mexico Boat Ride (NEW)
-Maelstrom (NEW)
-Spaceship Earth (NEW)
-Test Track
-Soarin'
-Living with the Land (NEW)
-Honey I Shrunk the Audience (NEW)

I don't mind if I miss...
-Mission Space (UGH-Clausterphobia and Motion Sickness at the same time-No Thanks!)

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS:

-Backlot Tour (NEW)
-Disney Animation
-VOTLM (NEW)
-TSM
-Rock'n Roller Coaster
-TOT
-BATB
-Great Movie Ride (Cowboy Version) (NEW)

I don't mind if I miss...
-Muppet Vision 3D
-GMR (Gangster Version)
-LMA!
-Indiana Jones (All I can remember about seeing this was baking I was so hot!)

Good list! I'm working on one, too- I want to make sure DH and I are on the same page for attractions we want to do/skip

I feel the same way about the safari at AK... it's fun and all, but doesn't have much re-ride factor for me.

I like that you're factoring stuff you haven't done before, it'll be a whole new experience for you at WDW!

It looks like you've got a lot of new things to try! I hope you like living with the land! It's such a simple ride but I just love it! We normally ride it multiple times - it's so relaxing, and interesting. :thumbsup2

It's fun to have a list of things you want to make sure you won't miss! It's also interesting to hear the things that you won't mind missing. I think this is helpful for some of us, because it takes all types!

Yeah, DH could take or leave Expedition Everest and he always talks about this "Bird Show" that he remembers seeing as a kid at MK. I'm guessing that's the Tiki Room (although, it is different now). He is such a go with the flow kinda guy, he'll ride any of the attractions but I can't promise I won't notice if he is bored!

There are so many things to do that I still haven't done. I am bummed that One Man's Dream will be closed when we are there, I was really looking forward to that!

I know, I can't believe how many new things there are to do still! I think DH will get bored but I know he'll go with me.

I didn't want to make the lists too long b/c I don't want to go with all these expectations b/c it will take away from the relaxation of the trip. :)

I want to see the cowboy version of GMR too! I am sick of the gangster! LOL.

And I totally agree on Mission:Space.

I love your list! I've been working on mine this week & it's so much different than if I were going with the kids. I'm not a big fan of Mission: Space either! :rolleyes1

I get to play tour guide at 2 of our 3 parks (my friend has never been to DHS or Epcot) so it's making the planning really fun! :thumbsup2

Great list :thumbsup2

Not long now and before you know it you will be in the most magical place on earth :)

I didn't even know there was another version until I read HM. :)

Having a "newbie" to any of the parks has to be fun! It adds an entire new level of planning. I can't imagine what it will be like when we have kids. Did you read Hidden Magic? It really opens your eyes on an entire different level to the detail and thought that goes into Disney World.

Great list :thumbsup2

I know. Right now it's to the point where there isn't a lot of planning to do. But-I am going to make a list of all the Disney trip related things I'd like to get done before we go to keep me excited!

So, I thought I would share a funny story with all of you before I forget it. Our first night in Vegas we checked in around 1130pm b/c we had a late flight. The room type we paid EXTRA $$ for (strip view-king bed) wasn't available so the receptionist made a call to a manager and got one opened for us. Well we get to the room and find out it has two queen beds instead of a king bed. We go back down to the front desk and they tell us that the only room they have available that is a king room is a smoking room-No thanks. I am infuriated at this point and I go back to the room and melt down. In my blubbering I say, "This is why I love Disney World. This doesn't happen in Disney World!" The smaller bed ended up being fine and very comfortable. In retrospect I think I melted down just because I was extremely tired. It was 200am Chicago time and I don't stay up past 11pm on a regular basis anymore.

On another note...I was looking at the tentative schedule of events for F&W and I found a Dessert Discovery event that allows you to try different desserts and drinks and then includes VIP seating for Illuminations. One of the event dates happens to fall on October 8, an evening that we are already scheduled to be in EPCOT! At only $45 pp, it is definitely worth it in my book! You know what I'll be doing on the AM of July 20th! :)

P.S. I preordered/paid for my PhotoPass. This will be key in getting more pictures with both DH and I in them. For $100 I truly believe it is worth it because for our honeymoon I ordered maybe 5 photos or so and it was almost $40.

That Vegas story is so funny. Sorry you didn't get the room you wanted, but glad you made the most of it.

That dessert thing at F&W sounds awesome!

I'm loving the sound of that dessert event!
Absolutely worth the cost- not a bad price at all!

That Dessert Party does sound cool doesn't it, esp the 3D part as well :teeth:

Yikes about the Vegas problem, but you are right, it would happen at WDW.

The dessert party sounds great.

I'm sorry about the room issue in Vegas. That is odd that they offered you a "smoking room." The last time I was in Vegas I still smoked and they had gotten rid of "ALL" smoking rooms and there is a $500 fine at some of the "nicer" hotels in Vegas if you get caught smoking in your room. :confused3

Food & Wine Festival 2010
DH and I are very excited to be going to WDW during the Food & Wine Festival. We really enjoy going to the Taste of Chicago each summer and this will (hopefully) be an even better experience than that. (Just a few reasons why I believe F&WF will be incomparably better than the Taste: said Taste is very crowded and filled with a lot rude people. The only restrooms are mobile toilets-YUCK! They have very limited seating as well.) **FYI: I took pictures at the Taste solely for posting on here and I even had DH transfer them to my computer but I can't find them on my computer and I deleted them from my phone. :(**

Disney Food Blog posted the menus for the booths and I quickly began writing all of the yummy deliciousness that I would like to devour this October. I had been searching the boards for pictures for some time and I even have a word document saved with pictures. I actually am quite disappointed that a few things I was looking forward to try don't seem to be on the menu. These items include but are not limited to: Cannelloni from Italy (I believe it has been replaced by Ravioli), Ham Croquettes from Puerto Rico, and Praline Pecan Bread Pudding from New Orleans-in fact New Orleans is not even listed as a booth this year.

Enough of that devastation. (Really, I'll get over it!) On to the important information: the food we're actually going to consume! (It's completely acceptable if you begin to salivate as a result of reading this list-my stomach was all but growling when I made it!)

Argentina:
Roasted Corn & Cheese Empanada
Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree

Belgium:
Waffle with Berry Compote & Whipped Cream
Godiva Chocolate Iced Coffee

Charcuterie & Cheese:
Cheese Fondue with Croutons & Roasted Potatoes

France:
Braised Short Ribs in Cabernet with Mashed Potatoes
Creme Brulee au Chocolate

Germany:
Spatzle Gratin with Ham & Cheese

Greece:
Greek Salad with Pita Bread
Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce

Ireland:
Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Irish Cream

Morroco:
Baklava
Falafel Pita Pocket

New Zealand:
Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney

Poland:
Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi

South Korea:
Lettuce Wraps with Roast Pork & Kimchi Slaw

Spain:
Serrano Ham, Chorizo, Manchengo, Olives & Tomato Bread

It is a good thing we are scheduled to visit the Food & Wine Festival twice for dinner during our trip because there is a very good chance I would get sick from eating all of this deliciousness in one evening! I'm thinking DH and I will share many of the items our first time and then our second time we will each have our favorites.

Well, there you have it folks...HOLD UP! I almost forgot! (Really I didn't I just wanted to intentionally regain your interest. Did it work? I didn't think so either.)

There are quite a few alcoholic beverages that spark my interest. Not to worry I will not consume all of these in one trip around the booths, or will I? ;)

Argentina:
Bodega Norton Reserva Malbec

Charcuterie & Cheese:
Ace Joker Hard Cider

France:
Sparkling Pomegranate Kir

Mexico:
Passion Fruit Margarita

Morocco:
Sangria
