5. WATCHING WISHES

145.jpg

It really is important to me to see Wishes-and it would be even better to see it on our first night. I think there is no better way to begin our trip than with sitting on the Poly beach, drink in hand, and watching the fireworks. (I’m going to be sure to sit near the speakers so I can hear the music, too!) If the weather is less than ideal, we can head over to MK and watch from there. They’ll only cancel wishes if it’s downpouring, right?

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!! Our trips are coming up so fast now, I'm feeling a little pre-vacation frenzied! I think the kids are too, my little one is upstairs NOT napping! For us it's only 3 more sleeps (GAAAHHHH!!!) because we are starting our drive down Thursday night at bedtime (driving all night helps make it go much faster for the kiddies). We'll stop North of Atlanta, sleep, then get up early to arrive at CBR around 3:00!

I am totally loving your top 10 list, seriously, when I saw that picture of WS, I instantly teared up. That is where I want to be. :cloud9: Thank you so much for writing the list for us to enjoy!

Your plans are sounding so great, I wonder if we'll cross paths while we are there? We are doing F & W (parents only - we're hiring Kids Nite Out) on the evening of the 6th and are so looking forward to those tasty treats!

OK, I have to get back to my lists, tye dyed shirts and cleaning supplies so I can have it all done before we go! :laundy:

We are almost all the way packed. :thumbsup2 Just the last minute things that need to be packed (the things we use everyday). I just need to update my iTouch and stop at the drug store to get my allergy meds and we're all set. Well-that and the main level of our house needs to be cleaned but my Dad is there today FINALLY working on our fireplace/entertainment center. Gosh, this time next week, we will be at DHS and our biggest worry will be which attraction to do next and to make it to our ADR on time.

I hope we make it to MK to watch Wishes!!

It's the beginning that gets to me-every time! :)

Friday at around 5pm we'll be on our way to my in-laws to spend the night. They live a lot closer to the airport (both in Chicago actually) and they so graciously drive us to the airport for all of our trips! I actually didn't end up falling asleep last night until nearly midnight b/c I am just getting so excited. I'm even more excited now b/c I read that the tropical threat "Nicole" should be in and out of Florida on Wednesday. :thumbsup2

You're welcome. It was hard to pick just 10 things but I just thought about what came to mind first when I was thinking about our trip!

Hmm...we don't plan on doing any parks on Saturday (Oct. 2), Sunday (Oct. 3) we plan on spending the day at Epcot, Monday (Oct. 4) we are going to DHS, Epcot only for dinner, and then over to MK for EMH, Tuesday (Oct. 5) is pool day and then F&WF in the evening, Wednesday (Oct. 6) is AK and DTD, Thursday (Oct. 7) is open during the morning/afternoon and then we are doing San Angel for dinner and then going mini golfing, Friday (Oct. 7) is another pool day with F&WF in the evening, and Saturday (Oct. 8) is MK all day. Sunday (Oct. 9) is home. :sad2:

4. SEEING OUR ROOM FOR THE FIRST TIME

CSR_new_room_decor_May09-kropf.jpg

This will be my first stay at CSR, 2nd at a moderate, 4th time staying on property and 5th trip to WDW! Out of all of the moderates CSR holds the most appeal to us out of any other resort, especially the rooms. Although, I loved the quaintness of POFQ and you can’t beat the boat to DTD-the rooms just lacked that WOW factor for me. I admit that I went back and forth on choosing CSR because I really want to stay deluxe but CSR appears to encompass the atmosphere I am looking for while on vacation-for only a fraction of the price that we would pay staying deluxe.

I unexpectedly have the day off today and I didn't even know it until I showed up to work! Apparently my cell phone decided it didn't want to take calls last night and didn't want messages to show up until this morning! Ugh! Oh well! I've already gone to the grocery store, threw in a load of laundry, and made Greg's lunch for tomorrow. I'm off to wash the floors and wipe down the kitchen. At least if anything, I'll have a productive day!

This will be our 2nd stay at CSR and I can't wait go back! The rooms were refurbished after our first stay so we'll be seeing the new stuff for the first time.

I actually just checked the 10 day forecast and it looks like sun and mid eighties all week for you guys!

My cousin works at CSR right now and she said the rooms are really nice! The modern decor definitely appeals to us more than the hideous bedspreads found in many other Disney resorts. IMO.

I know! "Nicole" is supposed to hit Florida tomorrow and be completely out of the U.S. on Friday. We don't leave until Saturday! We've had fantastic weather for all of our trips this year-I'm hoping it continues! *Keeps fingers crossed*

:yay: for having the day off :teeth:

 It's not even 11a.m. here and I vacuumed the rugs, Windexed the windows, polished, did laundry, and washed the floors! Although, I'll have to quickly mop the floors again as my Dad is here working on our fireplace.

Wow you have sure been busy this morning, take some time to relax being your day off too :)

Yay for a day off!! :cool1:

And yay for seeing your gorgeous room at CSR for the first time! :cool1:

I laid down for a bit but my Dad is here talking to himself :rotfl: and making a bunch of noise! Blast him for being here to finish our fireplace/entertainment center, it's only been here for 7 months unfinished what's another month. :lmao: Really, though, I'm glad it's finally getting done. I was getting sick of seeing wood posts in my livingroom.

Yay for a day off!! :cool1:

:) It's gone by fast! I'm quite exhausted actually. However, when it comes time to go to bed, I can't because I get too excited.

I'm shaking right now but I'll try to explain this in as few words as possible (at first) so you can share in the excitement with me:

WE GOT UPGRADED TO THE GRAND FLORIDIAN FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely read that right! Let me give you the best play by play that I can. I'm in a daze, Tinkerbelle is flying in circles around my head and I'm covered in pixie dust! Whew!

I'm sitting upstairs in our loft area measuring and cutting fabric for crayon rolls when the telephone rings. I look at the Caller ID and it says "Disney Travel" with a 407 area code. Oooooooooookay. What gives?

The call started and the way it started I thought maybe they were just making a courtesy confirmation call even though I've never heard of that. But then she goes...

"We're calling to see if you'd be willing to switch rooms?"

"To where?"

"The Grand Floridian. Free of charge."

"REALLY? WHY?!"

"Well, there's a convention going on and we overbid on the available rooms. Almost all of the people in king rooms are being offered the switch."

"I'll switch."

"But here's the thing if you switch it will be a standard room and we can't guarantee a king bed."

"That's okay. What are the sizes of the 2 beds?"

"Queens."

"We'll switch."

Can you believe it? It's my dream to stay at a monorail resort and now we are and GF is one of the most expensive resorts to stay at. I don't even want to look up what the price difference is. It's probably like getting 75% off and Free Dining! :rotfl: Oh man, I CAN'T WAIT NOW. No sleep for me these next few days. I'll never want to leave Disney.
