We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

LOve all your presents, but that card from Michael, oh how sweet:lovestruc! Exactly what every mom needs! That is just the most thoughtful card I've ever seen! Every year I ask my kids for a house elf, so far no luck.:confused3 I love how you are recapping the days, and summing it all up. I'll be so bummed when you are finished!

thanks Elaine...

I was quite impressed by his card too :goodvibes

I'll be kinda bummed too...now what will I do w/ myself

Wow Julie, you got some great birthday presents! The bags are beautiful (and I  Basic Grey rub-ons!). The card from Michael had to be your favorite gift though. How very sweet!

It's so bitter-sweet to go through your days for the last time. You did have a great trip though. And that fireworks picture is upbeatable! I have to say, though. It might be possible to recreate even the fireworks one if you timed it right, but you'll NEVER get that picture of Margaret at that age looking that sweet with Aurora again. That was a forever picture. :)

You're birthday sounds like it was lovely... Michael's card...:cloud9:, BLT's for dinner-(I'm a big BLT fan too)...:goodvibes, your family with you and those lovely gifts-loved the necklace and the Veras-I also love how you got scrapbooking stuff-they've obviously been paying attention...:lovestruc

(Believe or not I've never actually seen all of Enchanted-I'm putting that on my Netflix cue-i've seen bits and pieces-it looks very good...)

I'm loving how you're wrapping up the days-its fun for us-(I'm feeling the need to "borrow" again...:rolleyes1 but really it must also be a great way for you to be able to organize your thoughts around what is really meaningful and important to you on your trips...:cool1:

(BTW-David doesn't care for the HM at all-sadly it is one of my favorites...it really makes him nervous-I think he has a hard time separating the "fantasy aspects out"-yet he'll ride any coaster he is able to get on...:confused3 Interestingly he enjoys/makes a better Jedi than a Pirate-because he gets the Jedi code-it is more black and white for him...)

The Photopasspix are lovely...

Hi Julie!! :hug::hug::hug:

Sorry I missed your trip home update... I TOTALLY understand & thank you for sharing that part of the story. You guys had an amazing week and sharing the not so great moments makes it so much more real. :goodvibes

I get it about "looking" autistic. Alex has his moments & Zach has had a few too... It's amazing what can set Alex off and switch his brain into that mode so quickly. It's so hard to have a child that looks so "normal" but can sometimes act so strange. Everyone else has said it so well...

I also agree with what you said about our DIS-friends & the awesome community here. I've missed everyone over the past month and can't wait to have more time to myself now that the kids are back to school. (I'll post an update on that soon.)

I have to go back and read your recap but I have to run out to pick up Alex at school and wanted to respond in case I don't make it back here today. (Next week is my DIS catch up week. ;))

Thanks so much for sharing the good, the bad & the ugly!!

Hi Scrappie!

Aww, so sorry I missed your B'Day! :headache: It sounds like you had a great time, though!

Michael's card gave me the biggest smile... how sweet!

Love that necklace, too! Mom and SIL-to-be have great taste!

Kathy

not to pick favorite's but it's Up there :thumbsup2

but you'll NEVER get that picture of Margaret at that age looking that sweet with Aurora again. That was a forever picture. :)

I agree, it is like the picture I have of Mae when she was 2 1/2 hugging Minnie

You're birthday sounds like it was lovely... Michael's card...:cloud9:, BLT's for dinner-(I'm a big BLT fan too)...:goodvibes,

can you see my attraction to the new DVC home....BLT ;)

(Believe or not I've never actually seen all of Enchanted-I'm putting that on my Netflix cue-i've seen bits and pieces-it looks very good...)

you will like it, try and find all the "hidden" pointers to other classic Disney Princess films!

I'm loving how you're wrapping up the days-its fun for us-(I'm feeling the need to "borrow" again...:rolleyes1 but really it must also be a great way for you to be able to organize your thoughts around what is really meaningful and important to you on your trips...:cool1:

I created a journal for myself and the kids (my Mom too) and these were several of the fill-ins for each day. I filled out after we got home from the trip...it is fun to go back and read and now share w/ you...

Interestingly he enjoys/makes a better Jedi than a Pirate-because he gets the Jedi code-it is more black and white for him...)

Ahh....I can understnad that....:)

Daily Highlights: Day 5) Monday 3-30-09

“Another Magical Day @ MK”

Where we Went: DTD-Marketplace for shopping & see our sitter’s performance band from back home. And MK from mid afternoon till after Wishes.

What we Discovered: that going to the MP in the morning during the week is a :thumbsup2 but really need to hit the World of Disney store FIRST…

What we Liked: the initial quiet and empty shopping experience, enjoyed seeing our sitter play & the WWSHS band and of course seeing Spectro at night.

What we Didn’t Like: icky crowds in the WoD store, thought not as great of ornament selections as in past years at the Christmas store, the crazy transportation back to MK.

Favorite Attraction: walking right on POC at night after Spectro and riding AFC w/ the twins during Wishes.

Souvenirs we Got: A LOT!!! Matt- MM sweatshirt (w/ bag) & puzzles w/ Michael, Margaret- princess silverware & placemat, Michael-new MM hat, cars from Grandma, Aldine-Jasmine doll outfit from Grandma, I bought ornaments for everyone, b-day present for nephew, WDW throw and Mom bought me a new WDW shirt

Memorable Moments: we had a good shopping experience at MP (though missed GCC yet again), a wonderful yummy lunch at EoS, more touring at MK including TSI for my Dad w/ the kids, seeing Spectro and the surprise extra park hour to do 3 more things in minimal crowds especially in Adventureland.

Favorite Picture of the Day:

My Dad being a kid again and having fun w/ his grandkids on TSI

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daily Highlights: Day 6) Tuesday, 3-31-09

“Put Your Pith Helmet, we’re Going to Africa!” (MRYPPNS fav title ;))

Where we Went: Animal Kingdowm from about 11 am to 5:45 ish pm, DVC tour & presentation in the evening for Matt, I & the kids

What we Discovered: it was starting to get more crowded w/ each day at the end of the week w/ increasing Spring Breakers arriving…it felt very HOT in the park today…the late arrival, heat and crowds factored into us not getting much done today… And we looked into the “hole” and got curiouser and curiouser about the DVC…hmmmm

What we Liked: KS was a hit for all…me EE, all the kids really enjoyed the Boneyard and we had a great lunch at Yak & Yeti

What we Didn’t Like: crowds and heat, didn’t get much done, and the rude CM in the FP line for KS

Favorite Attraction: what we did do this day: KS, EE, kids enjoyed FoW and the “talking bird”

Souvenirs we Got: none today (unless you count our purchase a few days later into the DVC)

Memorable Moments: Lunch at first seemed like it would be a disaster, but turned out to be that diamond in the rough today, w/ quaint seeting, and very yummy and tasty food at Y&Y CS. We really enjoyed the DVC tour and presentation, our CM Sue was great! I personally can’t wait till ’10 and staying in BLT. This is not great, but Mae getting lost in the Conservation Center…one thing we won’t forget…

Favorite Picture of the Day:
Image138.jpg

Mae...having a wonderful time!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daily Highlights: Day 7) Wednesday, 4-1-09 April’s Fool’s Day

“Passports Ready for more Epcot Adventure”

Where we Went: Epcot for the day mainly touring WS and then CSR for evening and finishing off our last night at Disney w/ swimming and shopping.

What we Discovered: experienced many cool and well themed F & G Festival things like the Tink/Fairy Garden. You could walk the whole semi-circle of the Countries in 1-afternoon.

What we Liked: Test Track was very fun for Matt, my Mom, the twins and I, looking for the garden trolls in Norway w/ Michael, Mae, and Margaret

What we Didn’t Like: The rain causing a bit of a headache as we were getting ready to leave and me disappointed they didn’t have the Mary Poppins books anymore.

Favorite Attraction: (not exactly a “attraction” but) watching the Italian Whistle Guy (Sergio) and Aldine being part of the show.

Souvenirs we Got: 2 Mickey thru the Years watches for Matt and I and a WDW rolling duffle

Memorable Moments: Aldine being chosen to be part of the show in Italy, perfect timing as a second thought to head back there…so cool! Mom getting the scooter, to help w/ the major walking we did, a very nice lunch break, enjoying all the beautiful flowers and topiaries all over Epcot and the fun pictures we took of Aldine’s Josefina and Margaret’s Alice dolls. PLUS the ongoing April’s Fool’s joke w/ my Dad and his handfuls of invisible jelly beans…which still goes on today

Favorite Picture of the Day:

100_2779.jpg

Aldine having a most magical moment...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daily Highlights: Day 8) Thursday 4-2-09 Our last day…

“It’s time to Leave, but first we’ll visit…?”

Where we Went: checkout of our room nice and early, headed to DHS on the bus and made a last minute decision and went to MK instead (my Dad went back to AK)

What we Discovered: the park switch ended up being a great day and idea, MK even though it was a bit crowded toward the end of our day, it was fun and we got to do so many fun attractions once again. Oh and the GAC entrance for POC is wonderful!

What we Liked: repeats of many favorite rides w/ barely any waits

What we Didn’t Like: Michael and Mae once again HM and so sad we were going home today

Favorite Attraction: for me EVERYTHING this day!

Souvenirs we Got: nothing, but Aldine was the Skipper on JC and got a souvenir card

Memorable Moments: Having fun and going to MK for the 3rd time this trip, meeting IndianaJ as the last thing at the DME bus stop at CSR

Favorite Picture of the Day:

In front of our "home"

Again...I love the recaps! It really just ties everything up in a nice pretty bow! I have very similar pages at the end of each day in my scrapbooks!

That pic of Mae is just beautiful. And Aldine's magical moment with the juggler was AMAZING...something I'm sure she'll never forget!

Looking forward to the final installment...in a bittersweet kind of way! :goodvibes

I, of course am enjoying your whole recaps...:goodvibes

This picture thought especially brought such a smile to my face-If you just glance at it quickly-it really looks like you are standing in front of your home...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well you know I know its a little small for your family but with a couple of bedrooms it would make a lovely DVC...:lmao:

Amy and Kathy,

I am sorry I missed your "hello's to me"

Hi Julie!! :hug::hug::hug:

thanks for the hugs!

Sorry I missed your trip home update... I TOTALLY understand & thank you for sharing that part of the story. You guys had an amazing week and sharing the not so great moments makes it so much more real. :goodvibes

no problem, and your welcome!

Hi Scrappie!

Hey to yourself too ;)

Aww, so sorry I missed your B'Day! :headache: It sounds like you had a great time, though!

no worries....it was a wonderful weekend we all had a great time and ME :goodvibes

Michael's card gave me the biggest smile... how sweet!

I know, I'm thinking about framing it and putting it in my scrapbook room!

Love that necklace, too! Mom and SIL-to-be have great taste!

I agree

Margaret is ROCKIN' that Pith Helmet!!!!

I knew you'd love it! that was from our main Chicagoland Zoo (Brookfield) and my Dad put the hat on her so I quickly snapped a picture :lovestruc

Ahhh...so happy and so sad. You guys had a great trip. One that I'm sure you'll think about for a long time to come (or at least about 14 more months!)

I can't wait to see what "special" Disney book you're making. That's part of the reason I'm doing the books I am for my boys...so I'll have in writing their favorite things for each day. Then I can put that in my books. :)

I have to tell you, I was thinking about your ticker the other day and I had to think to myself for a minute before I realized that Margaret and Mae means the littlest girls (all this time I'd been thinking Aldine and Mae, even though I KNOW from this TR that the twins' birthday is in May, uh, right?) I just can't believe Margaret is going to be FOUR when you go back. You don't happen to have some kind of pixiedust: to make them stop growing so fast, do you?

Interested to see your final thoughts...and your blog link! ;)

I'm all caught up Julie!! I'm loving the recaps--great idea!! I hate that your TR is coming to an end. You haven't posted the link to your blog yet, have you?

I'm feeling like such a bad DISfriend... I'm sorry I missed your birthday. It sounds like you had an amazing day & got to enjoy your annual CUBS game rain-free! :cool1: You got some great gifts!! Love the VB bags. :thumbsup2 And the card from Michael... :cloud9: so sweet!!

I love the recaps - it's nice to see it all together. You have some fantastic pictures from your week!!

Can't wait to hear your final thoughts. I hope you start a PTR right away!! :rolleyes1

yes...than I'll be thinking about that trip till the next one....;)

The special books, etc that I'll be working on over the next few months I'll be chatting about in my Disney BLOG...link coming up!

I wish I did have some special stop growing dust or skip a few years like the cranky pre-teen yrs...UGH I remember going thru mine now to do it again, 3 x's over...YUCK! :sad2:

Yes crazy as it seems but Mae and Margaret are my "little girls" though at 8 (Mae next yr) she won't seem little anymore...nor Margaret...and how can she be turning 3 in just a few months. Where does the time go?

I'm all caught up Julie!! I'm loving the recaps--great idea!! I hate that your TR is coming to an end. You haven't posted the link to your blog yet, have you?

Hi Becky,

good to see you back on the Dis! thanks and yes it is a bit sad this trip is over...no I have not posted the link yet...coming soon!

I'm feeling like such a bad DISfriend... I'm sorry I missed your birthday.
