We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

I can't wait to hear what happens with the DVC!! Were you able to take pics of the tour? LOVE the safari pics!! We also got some butt pics as well!! :lmao: Glad you enjoyed your lunch at Y&Y! Brent would like that but I don't like Chinese food. Can't wait to hear more!

Hey Becky,

now I can't spoil too much yet....;)

Can't get around those animal butt pic's on the safari...:rotfl:

I love Chinese...though don't have it as often as I'd love to indulge...a little heavy on the wallet KWIM...DH & I used to get Chinese take-out every New Year's Eve when we were first married...

Okay, please forgive me...I know that I an late but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! I so so glad that you enjoyed your day!! Okay...now I have to go and read your last update! Be back soon!! ;)

I am all caught up now! I love the fact that you got your own little EMH in the MK after the parade! Extra hours in Mk always seems more special to me than any of the other parks!:goodvibes

Aldine is very much like me with the whole asking questions to "people of information". Once, my DH, DMIL, and DFIL were on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and there was a CM/Keeper out near the Gorrillas. Well, I could've stayed there talking with that CM/Keeper until her ears fell off!:lmao:

Two cliffhangers!!!:scared1: I will patiently await the next update, everything has been great so far Julie!
P.S.
HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY!

Cont: of Day 6 at AK- Parents LOST! And Only 5 things !???!

So we just got off the train at the Conservation Station

100_2690.jpg

And we had gotten separated, my Mom was w/ Michael not too far ahead of us, but DH, I, Aldine and Margaret were behind as it took us a few minutes longer to get started going w/ unfolding the stroller first….

My Dad had Mae……

Or did he??????? :confused3

The rest of us get up to the actual building area and when we all realized that Mae was not here. I thought she was w/ my Dad, my Dad had walked ahead when he didn’t see us after the train and he did have her w/ him then. He thought we were ahead and then when we met up

"Where is Mae?"

“She’s not w/ you?”

DH comes over to me, “Do you know where Mae is?”

“No”, I reply, “She isn’t w/ my Dad?”

She wasn’t in the building, DH started panicking :worried: and strangely enough I was actually as cool as a cucumber, which is not something usual for me. I think I was preoccupied w/ watching Margaret running around, that the reality of the situation didn’t fully hit me.

Matt tells a CM that we have a lost child. They ask him her name and what she is wearing, DH doesn’t remember, scared he asks me and calmly I say “a white shirt w/ Ariel on it and a green skirt and Ariel crocs.” We tell them what she looks like and her age and the call goes out!

“Parents Lost for a Mae Last Name!”

And w/in minutes she comes strolling back in the building w/ a CM, calm as can be w/ a Mickey sticker on her shirt. The CM asks us, “are you the Lost Parents of Mae, here?”

“Yes, we are!”

And then everyone in the vicinity of CS knew about Mae and her “Lost Parents” and that luckily we were found! Whew!

And of course, did we have Mae’s name tag on her back?….uh….no :guilty:. I was going to put it on her when we got off the train, but never had the chance, but believe me, it went right on and stayed on every minute of the rest of our stay.

The CM’s thought our id tags were genius and praised us for being so prepared, well not that prepared since she didn’t have it on when she wandered off…:rolleyes1 :headache:

So what happened, you wonder? :confused3

We did get separated and as my Dad had thought we were ahead and that’s where he and Mae went, Mae wandered off from my Dad looking for us and actually walked practically all the way back to the train area when the call went out, that was where she was found. In thinking back as soon as my Dad had realized she wasn’t w/ him, he should have said something to a CM, not thinking she was w/ us…but everyone was found and no one was hurt.:goodvibes

We stayed in the CS awhile longer and looked around and such. Mae got to meet:

100_2691.jpg

100_2693-1.jpg

And Aldine enjoyed talking to a CM :chat: near an animal food station for probably a good 15 minutes or so.

We then decided to head back to the train and SPLIT up for the rest of the evening, my parents were going to go back to CSR and we were going to try and do something else before our DVC tour pick up time.

We bid our farewells for the night and we’d see them later. We had about 40 minutes till our pick-up time and decided to go over to the Camp Mickey and Minnie area and try and catch a few characters over there, but duh! I should have consulted the times guide before heading in that area, because after crossing the bridge, we were engulfed by the crowds just exiting FotLK :crowded: and there was no way we could budge thru all these people to the characters, let alone the lines would be low now w/ this area congested so much. So we reluctantly turned around and started our way back up the bridge. We also at that time received a phone call from the DVC to confirm our time and that we were still coming. So we just decided to head back to Dinoland and meet up. (OH TR NOTE/EDIT: the CM’s name was actually Barry, I have it written in my notes here and when I typed up the other post, his name slipped my mind and I couldn’t exactly read his writing on our “ticket”.)

To recap what we did at AK today….not much, what a bummer.

Only 5 THINGS!!!!

*Boneyard/Dinosaur

* KS

*Lunch at Yak & Yeti

*EE/FoW

*Conservation Station

Not a very productive day we had. :bored: We arrived at the DVC stand, feeling tired, hungry and sweaty gross…oh well hopefully they see a lot of Disney folks just like us. Barry was there waiting for us and he walked us out thru BACKSTAGE of Dinoland to meet our driver and van. As we were heading out another CM says to us:

“May I see your ID’s?”

He thought we were trying to sneak out the back or something…:rolleyes1

We got outside and there was our driver I forget his name now, but he was a very sweet old gentleman who was retired AF and has been working for Disney for the last 17 yrs. A car seat was all set for Margaret in the van and we all got in a very comfy passenger van and relaxed in the air conditioning during our ride over to the DVC offices at SSR. On the way out of AK we got to see a few things most guests probably never would….the backstage area of AK and especially the BACK of EE!

I wanted to take pictures to remember this and of course share w/ you guys, but wasn’t sure if I could and actually was a bit nervous too. So sorry I didn’t.

Up NEXT: Our DVC tour, the free ice cream and “pizza by the sinks” oh and a special suprise!

Thanks for reading,

J-

Oh wow!! I am so impressed with how calm you were! I don't know if I would have been that calm if one have my girls had wandered off! Sooo very glad that it didn't take them long to find Mae! How scary!! I can't wait to hear about your DVC tour--but you knew that!! :goodvibes

:scared:...so glad Mae was only gone for a few minutes. I'm totally impressed with your calm demeanor throughout. I hope that I would be calm...but I doubt it :rolleyes1

My DS would so wander, he's like DH that way...just looks and walks away without saying anything :sad2: So a BIG THANKS again for the ID tag. Already made some for DS just have to laminate and attach the pin

I can't believe you were so calm! :worship: Me, I would've been :scared1: and flipping out! I'm sooooooo glad it all turned out well

Well I have to say that if you are going to get lost, that is the place to do it. Only one way in and out and by train no less!

And lost parents is correct most of the time. On my last trip I was at the big round pin store and happened to notice a little family as they came in because the mother was yaking away on a cel phone (hate that more then I can say here on the DIS). Well the daughter who was about 9 yo got separated as she looked at pins. I noticed her looking about for her parents so I told her not to leave the store and to tell a CM if she couldn't find them. It's a round store....you can go round and round and just miss someone for awhile in there. Anyways I kept an eye on the girl and after a bit she did go up to a CM you could see on her face that she was getting nervous. Just then her mother walks by....I don't think that woman had a clue that she was lost :confused3

Becky, Liz, Lisa and Heidi,

believe me guys...that was some out of body experience because no way would I ever be that calm....I freak out when there is nothing to freak out about....

Seriously God's hand must have been on me those 5 minutes or so, to ensure at least one of us (DH or I) had our heads on straight and HE knew she was ok...right:angel:

That is not the first time I "lost" Mae either...

This was almost 5 yrs ago, at our previous home. Mae was about 2 1/2 and we had just had Maggie our dog for a few weeks. Our backyard was only partially fenced it still and it was shortly after this incident that DH finished the job. I was getting ready to go somewhere w/ the kids and was drying my hair in the upstairs bath (this house was a split-level) and when I was done I called for the twins and Mae so we could get our shoes on. The twins came, but where was Mae and for that matter where is the dog? :confused3

I am FREAKING OUT!!!! In my own house!

I'm screaming her name all over the house and looking in all the rooms, the twins were proabably petrified by their mom about now, I decided I had better look outside and I go to the side patio door off our kitchen when I see outside in the neighbor's drive way a man who was not my neighbor and who I didn't know holding some little girl!!!!!!

MY LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

I'm like yelling thru the glass, Mister that's my daughter...and then I go to go outside when I noticed the screen is ripped and open (can you guess who ripped thru the screen....Maggie :headache:) I'm on the deck of our house telling this man that the girl is my daughter.

I run back in the house and out the front door around to the yard to find him and Mae.

She seems fine, not hurt, not even crying.

This man who turned out to be our very own neighborhood Watchman Mr. Ray who we adored forever after this incident while we lived there (he past away a year ago ) said he was sitting out in front of his garage (his house is like 4 down from mine) and saw this little girl walking down the middle of the street w/ her shoes in her hands following a dog....:sad2:

Oh man did I feel so ashamed and embarressed! He was walking up to my neighbor's house, because my neighbor then was a Sherrif, he had no idea who this little girl was and just saved her. My Mae!

So Maggie our dog nudged herself out of the screen and walked around the back of the house and down the drive way and 1/2 way down the block....w/ Mae following her like she was a mouse following the Pied Piper and I hadn't a clue :guilty:

so moral of this story...do you always know where your kids are....

She doesn't remember that eventful day, but I do like it was yesterday and it still get's my heart racing. After I had Mae in my arms I called Matt at work and was crying frantically in the phone about the whole thing. Is she ok, he asks, yes I say....then a pause and he says where is the dog

I was lost twice as a kid, once at Great America and then once at the Sears Tower in Chicago during Christmas...I remember them both plain as day and I was probably under 7. I don't know if Mae will remeber her breif moment of being lost at WDW but I will....

thanks for your sympathy and now your shaking heads at my worst parent moment above!

DVC tour post I hope up on Friday...will be off the Dis tomorrow, as off to Great America for our annual run (me, my Dad, D Bro, his Fiance and Aldine) hope we have fun!

see you all soon!

J-

For the record... YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!!!!!!! I hope the DVC tour & surprise really are up next...

Oh, and :scared1: about Mae. But I'm glad it all turned out OK. I would have had a heart attack. (Kind of like the one you are giving me now...)
