We've Booked Disneys' Enchanted Evening!!

Hi all!

Very excited today, just booked to take my DD to Disney's Enchanted Evening at Hyde Park on Sept 12th!!

It will be exactly 4 weeks to the day before we fly off so its a special treat to get us in the mood!!

DD is completely unaware, I'll just surprise her on the day!

Any other DISers going??

Sunday 12 September, 6.30-8.30pm, Hyde Park, London

One of South Africa's most acclaimed artists, Lebo M gives a special guest performance in Hyde Park for the BBC Family Prom in the Park.

Best known for his resonating vocals on the Oscar-nominated soundtrack to Disney's Lion King, Lebo M performs Circle of Life, the famed opening track from the animated film.

Family favourite and star of TV and stage Gaby Roslin hosts the evening's entertainment with the BBC Concert Orchestra, which also features music from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Beauty & The Beast.

This is the fifth large-scale event for children and their families staged by the BBC Proms.

This year the BBC Concert Orchestra plays some of Disney's best-known songs and there will be plenty of on-stage action with dancing, singing and story-telling, plus footage from the animated classics relayed on giant screens around the park.

The evening will end in a grand finale as Mickey Mouse takes the stage to conduct special effects.

Of presenting she says: "I'm delighted to be presenting the BBC Family Prom in the Park as I have always been a huge fan of Disney and this promises to be a magical evening for adults and children alike."

Have to say that we went to this yesterday and it was FANTASTIC!!!!

It will be on BBC1 over Christmas, so look out for it.

It was really wonderful and I was so choked throughout (especially when Belle & Beast took to the stage - thats my absolute fave!!).


Whether the finale was a "mini-fantasmic" I dont know, cos I havent been yet - but Sorcerer Mickey was there with fireworks and music and it was great!

I did have a cry during this bit! - If this is what I'm like in Hyde Park - what will I be like over there!!!!

I second Lorraines post - despite the rain, DD and I were sitting in our yellow Mickey ponchos, under our umbrella singing away to our favourites.

The fireworks were great - as was the Mickey Finale.

Glad that you all had such a fantastic time.


I am soooo glad its going to be on TV at Christmas. I spent all day yesterday ranting and raving because BBC has shown all the other Proms over the last 2 weeks and I just couldn't believe that they weren't going to show this one. Should have guessed that they would hold on to it until Christmas. Can't wait!!!
