That is so terrible. My daughter has a bladder problem. She wets ALL THE TIME. I have sent documentaion to school. Well, She was coming home wet for a couple of days. On the "third" day of this I went to the school and pitched the biggest fit reminded the teacher that I had sent documention from myself and the doctor asking that she be excused as needed to go the BR. says " oh we had a substitute those days." But does she have a bladder condition???? UH! YAH! My daughter was so red because she had sat in it all day the first day. Then it happened two more times.... The last day it was awful. The teacher told her that she couldn't call because it was almost time for her to catch the bus. Then she came home and said a little boy told the teacher "Christa really needs to go change. " And to top it all off her clothes were in her bag.

That poor kid. I would be real upset with the school!!! {{{HUGS}}} to your daughter!

Oh Carla!! How frustrating for you and painful for poor Christa. When I was a kid, I managed to stay dry during the day, but simply couldn't at night. Very embarrassing to turn down invitations to sleepovers and the like. {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} to Christa and an ATTA GIRL!! to you. Keep after those people at school!

:(

It's really important for a kid to have the support of a good teacher at times like this. :(

I hope things get better at school for DD, and that all of this is soon forgotten. :)

I am so sorry that you and your DD are having to go through this. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to you both.

I hope the other kids forget about it and leave her alone! I can only imagine how hard it must be for her. My entire body would explode if I couldn't go to the bathroom when I needed to. Teachers always told me it was better to hold it and that would make my bladder stronger. Yeah right! It only made things worse.

Is her problem treatable or is it something she has to live with? You would think that the teacher would leave information that important for the substitute teacher. Does she leave any medical information for the subs?

{{{HUGS}}} for you and your daughter!

Back about a year ago at age 4 and a half or 5 she was getting very bad infections and had started wetting again. We were seeing a doctor that I was told very knowledgeable. Well, about every three weeks on the nose my daughter would get this horrible infection. We would treat it would go away and then in three weeks we were back to square one. This lasted months. Going to the doctor and doing what he said and boom, again. One day I was really feeling bad for her. She was really suffering. And was not buying what the doctor said anymore just because he was supose to be this awesome doctor. He wanted to traet and I wanted to fix. It didn't make a whole lot of sense what he was saying. He was saying that it had to do with her hygine and behavior or doing this for extra attention. So, I questioned him like any good mother would do. Well, he got angry at me and we had a massive hollering match and I left in the middle of our visit. The nurse called back. I did like her she was really helpful.
I told my husband that I was no longer going to see him because he was a jerk and had no people skills and my dauther and I was uncomfortable around him. Anyway about three weeks later she got a really BAD infection. All this time she had been on antibodics nothing seemed to help. She needed to see a doctor and regular Ped. was out on vaction. So, I decided to find another URO. Well, He got me in right away I didn't have to wait like before, he ran three test continued the antibodics and other med. He put her in the hospital ran a couple of test and two procedures and for the most part she has been bladder infection free for a good while now. She will go days without having accidents. Then she'll have them for a couple of days. But no infections. She is totally comfortable with him and for one procedure they usually have to put them under but he did it in xray. She still takes a low dose of antibodics and regualr med. everyday. The doctor checked what he did and she is doing betterbecause of that procedure.
It was very embassrassing for her at school. The teacher has gotten better. She keeps a change of clothes with her at school and if she goes somewhere she keeps a change also.

On another note.... I have only been on this site a few months now. I really am not one to chat on line or anything. But I love this site and the people on them. I feel almost like a family it is really cool how people just take time and reply. Somtimes just helping or venting you guys always have somthing nice to tell. I was actually replying to another mom and got several replies myself. HUGS everyone!

I am a teacher and I had a young man with a similar problem last year. I made sure that there was a notation in my sub plans regarding his condition. I am so sorry that this happened to you. It just breaks my heart when teachers are not advocates for their kids. I love every one of my babies and can't imagine not protecting them from ridicule. The best of luck to you.

Poor little mite:(

I feel for her, as I had a similar problem when I was young. I was lucky enough to have a teacher who understood & sent me home to get changed when an accident occured. It didn't happen every day, but it did happen & yes even way back then it was very embarrassing.:(

The school really needs to get their act together & let all teachers know, subs or not that this little one needs to be allowed to go to the toilet/bathroom as required.

Your poor little dd. {{hugs}} to her. It seems her teacher doesn't realize how awful it is for your dd to have to sit all day with wet pants on. I hope she pays better attention to things. She should do like JTB said and leave a note about the situation with the subs.

Poor thing. :( Can she wear those overnight underwear during the day? At least then her clothes wouldn't get soaked...and the other kids wouldn't know and possibly give her grief.

I feel so bad for your little girl, how humiliating. I hope the teacher will learn from her mistake and make sure anyone who takes over her class in her absence will be aware of your DD condition.

My son has an ocassional problem with night time wetting, his is simply because he is a deep sleeper and sometimes is so deep in sleep doesn't recognize he has to go. Anyway, last week he went to the pediatrician for his annual and the ped gave him a prescription for a nose spray that will prevent DS from wetting, thereby allowing him to attend sleepovers or go overnight in a hotel. You can only use the spray so many days in a row then you have to take a break before starting them up again. At least this way your DD would be able to attend sleepovers. I don't know the name of the spray off the top of my head, but if you are interested I will be happy to go look.

As for during the school day, like others have suggested, can she where pull ups or Depends or something like that to keep her clothes dry?
