Westjet seat sale

i just priced out Westjet Sept 16-20 and it came to 1400 for 4 people!!! Toronto airport taxes are crazy!
Still way cheaper to fly out of Buffalo for us @ only 180 per person all in! thats half the price even with exchange.

Who would you book with out of Buffalo? The prices I got with West Jet worked out wo $1200 for 3 of us. No way! So I'd try Buffalo!!!

We've flown Air Tran twice and the prices are great but they only offer 1 direct flight each day whereas Southwest offers 3 direct flights each day... both have great prices.

I agree with Molly.
AirTran we have done twice now. Great prices. Sometimes you can find a direct flight. We've been lucky and had direct flights both times.
And parking in Buffalo is so cheap. One week in their parking lot was 40 dollars

Wow, I paid $1200 for 4 tickets, and since we live in Kingston Ontario it is much easier than flying out of Buffalo. We checked Syracuse and the flights were MORE!! I was happy with this price , with direct fights at the times I like.

Also have a look at JetBlue out of Buffalo. We flew it in March for the first time and it was wonderful - TVs on all of the seatbacks and they don't trun them off - ever - they are on during take-off and landing (which I thoght was really wierd). And when they come around with snacks, it's a basket full of cookies, chips, crackers and nuts and you are free to take whatever you want and as many as you want.

It was a great flying experience.

Just checked Jet Blue $660 US for 4 about $825 Canadian. BUT flight leaves at 7am, 6-7 hour drive for us to Buffalo which would mean a hotel + parking + food $150 Canadian (just a guess on this $ amount) = $975, plus extra gas so make it an even $1000, so it is costing us $200 for the convienence of flying from close to home. I am jstifying this to myself, you know.:confused3 Maybe we should have waited to book a flight , but $300 with the taxes is the cheapest I have seen in a long time. Maybe next time....

That's great!! :thumbsup2 I'm hoping to get a seat sale for our november trip out of Edmonton.

We are also flying out of Edmonton in November. Either Westjet (thru Calgary or TO) or United (thru Denver)... depends what is cheapest. <fingers crossed>

Does anyone know when WJ typically offers direct flights outta Calgary to MCO? I checked to see if they were doing it in September but it doesn't look like it. It almost seems like they post the YYC-MCO direct flights only a few months out.

It seems WJ is not discounting direct flights very often anymore. I remember direct flights use to run approx October to April. You can get a seat sale easily on connecting flights but a sale on a direct flight is not as often anymore.

I think you got a great price for flying out of Canada. We are in Ottawa and always drive to Syracuse to fly on JetBlue. The flights out of Ottawa were always double, but I have seen them cheaper on a seat sale (which was always too late because I usually buy the tickets when JetBlue releases our dates). If I could get $1200 direct from Ottawa I probably would take it as well. It probably costs us $200 to drive, eat and stay at a hotel overnight (with parking included).

I'd much rather pay full price through the dreaded United than get a seat sale with WJ flying red-eye through Toronto. Definitely not an option with an 8 month old!

Don't get me wrong, I love WJ, we always fly them to Hamilton to visit family there, and we get some fantastic deals, too. But for flying Edmonton to MCO they are pretty lame. Their best prices involve the redeye to Toronto, a 4 hour layover, finally getting to MCO after at least 14 hours. Not good enough.

For our Dec trip I was very lucky to get flights through Air Canada on United for $2600 for the 4 of us, and at the times we wanted. WJ through Calgary was $5600 and through Toronto $4500. Who would you book with?

I just happened to check a few weeks back at about 1:00 AM on a Saturday night, and there was the best price I'd seen in 6 months and grabbed it right away. I really don't expect they'll ever be any cheaper over Christmas.:)

Actually it's not a red eye, we depart 10:30am direct flight to Orlando, then depart 1:55 pm direct back to Toronto. We stay at my Aunt's house, she's 5min taxi drive to the airport , get up at 6:30am to be at the airport for 7:30. Works well for us!:thumbsup2

Yup, that's the 10:30 am, YYZ-MCO. The redeye we were referring to is the early am flight from Edmonton that gets into Toronto at 6:30 am or thereabouts, leaving you to wait until the 10:30 flight to Orlando. Too long a day for me.;)

OOOOOOHHHHHHH! yucky!! I don't blame you. Wow, I am glad I live in Kingston Ontario, much closer to Disney:) Besides, I don't think we could afford it. Well, I'm sure we would find a way!

Next trip Sept 15-24/09:thumbsup2

DH is already watching for the seat sales to come out for Dec1st-14th
Here's hoping as we got the $99. deal for our trip in May/09. :thumbsup2

We all do find a way, don't we? So, when you catch the 10:30 out of Toronto, you'll know what's wrong with these tired, wrung-out people staggering around in a daze! They've just arrived from Alberta.:lmao: Have fun!:)
