WestJet Connection in Toronto

I am flying with WJ to MCO and connecting/clearing customs in Toronto. I dont have a ton of time and am wondering if they've changed things now so you don't have to pick-up and re-check baggage. I heard they have and now baggage is checked straight through to MCO with WJ .... has anyone flown recently with WJ and connected through Toronto to confirm this?

I have always used this site which says that you would have to pick up and recheck your bags but the last time this as discussed here on the Boards, someone said it was not current and that they did not have to pick up their bags. Bottom line, if you really need to know, you might want to call:

"For more information on connecting through Toronto Pearson, please call 416-AIRPORT (+1-416-247-7678) or 1-866-207-1690."

I connected in YYZ back at the end of May on WJ. I did not have to pick up my checked baggage. You go to a room and wait for your last name and arrival city to show up on the board. You have to scan your passports once before and once after you see your name I think. A picture of the bag is then sent to US Customs and they ask you to confirm it when you go through. The whole process probably took 30-45 minutes.

The whole process is a little confusing, so knowing the process going in will help a lot. If you get to a customs agents without going to the holding room and seeing your name, they will send you back to the room to wait. There are customs agents who will help in the room as well if you have questions, but don't count on the Pearson staff to provide much help or provide accurate info.
