westgate lakeside villas vs sheraton vistana resort

Has anyone stayed at either of these resorts? I/ve never stayed off-property and for reasons too numerous (and boring) to mention I am considering one of these resorts for a quickie with my 2 kids and parents. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help with those 2 resorts but you can try http://www.tug2.net/ . You can find resort reviews listed there. We have stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas, Westgate Town Center and Star Island. I would go back to any of them again with WVV as my first choice. I liked having a kitchen and separate bedroom traving with kids. If you have any questions about those resorts just ask.

I have not stayed at either, but from what I have read of others' experiences, I would definitely choose Vistana over Westgate Lakes. Check the Orlando Reosrts section of the boards for many reiview of Vistana.

We have been owners at Sheraton Vistana since 1996 and love it there. Any time I try another Orlando resort, the kids complain and are not as happy.

The suggestion to do some research on www.tug2.net is a good one. There are some sections of Vistana that are better than others and that is discussed frequently there. We own in the Fountains II, which is sort of medium in age and nicely landscaped. The newer sections are the Lakes and the Cascades. I have stayed in the Falls, which is one of the oldest sections, and thought it was fine, too.
