Has anyone ever stayed at this resort? My sister in law traded through Interval and is staying in a 2 bedroom a this resort on Turkey Lake Road. Trying to find some opinions and/or reviews.

Try Timeshare Users Group and Redweeks for reviews, both better than tripadvisors. We're staying a few days next month in a 3 BR, I have a full week but will likely only use it for a few of those days. It is a huge resort and the experience people get seems to be very variable.

My wife and I have a four bedroom unit at the Lakes and absolutely love it. Your SIL, I am sure, will to. It is clean, safe, and a fun place. It is near everything, including a new WalMart and SeaWorld. If your SIL has any other questions, just let me know.

Take care.

The only thing I have heard about Westgate is stay away from the sales pitches! They are extremely slimey and high pressure. Other than that, most of their resorts get pretty decent reviews.

I agree, avoid a sales presentation at all costs. Westgate has the worst reputation for being mean during sales presentations.

Their resorts are usually quite nice, though.

I agree watch out for the sales pitch. As a former owner they try anything high pressure to get you to buy. The new trick to get you to come to a presentation is to do an inventory and qa survey. they want to do an inventory and rate the unit. As an owner I tried to do it over the phone or have the person come to the unit. They said company policy violates them entering a unit.

After two minutes of the survey they went right into sales mode. 60 mins later we left

first they tell you - you must be driven to your room - don't fall for this - demand the key and directions.

despite owning at Westgate I really hate them - they charge extra for everything.

the lakes is a good location for Sw or US/IOA - it is further from Disney than Westgate villa.

We stayed there a year and a half ago. We only had a studio which I didn't like--a little worn. But we looked in the window of the one bedroom attached to us and it looked much nicer. I liked that they had screened in porches. The bathrooms were pretty nice. We asked for extra towels almost every day and they dropped off an entire set for us whenever we asked for no charge. (Unlike DVC!) The on-site restaurant had free kids meals including some free tokens for their arcade and two for one coctails. The food was good too. The pools were nothing special. Overall I'd rate it 7/10.

Location was close to SeaWorld which was nice. We didn't do Disney that trip, so I can't comment on convenience for that. Universal Studios seemed like a bit of a trip.

We had no interest in the timeshare presentation and completely avoided it.

We've traded into 3 Bedroom Units at Westgate Lakes twice. Both times we traded in using our 1 Bedroom Aruba Renaissance through II. We enjoyed it there both times. We stayed there one week while we did two days at Sea World and three days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It is close to both. It was definitely worth the trade. However, we did get suckered into going to a welcome presentation which turned into a high pressure sales pitch (which of course we rejected).

I have read conflicting reports about the laundry facilities. They have a 2 bedroom. Is their a washer/dryer in their room?
