Western Washington peeps

So, the big debate in our house is if our garbage will ever get picked up! We're going on three weeks now, and if they don't come today that's a whole month. Awesome :lmao:

Luckily we have those giant black bags, so we've been able to collect everything in a sort of sanitary way, but I'm not sure how much longer this could go on.

Ours was picked up today (after 3 weeks). :cool1: Now I just have to work on the recycle pile for next week.

Not to suprise anyone but I just looked outside and found it snowing again
We are just getting rid of all of are snow finnally we dont need anymore
Grr... This better not ruin my plans for tommorrow...

Ours was picked up last Tuesday for the first time in 3 weeks
We didnt have much since we escaped the storm for the most of the time
With vacations and all...

Hubby said he got snowed on this AM while walking to the train in Tacoma. I wish I'd been up for it! Since we have such access to everything where we live, we're actually hoping for more snow! :woohoo: Sorry everyone in different areas....:scared:

Molly, if it seriously snows again, can we just trade houses? Please? :lmao: You guys can enjoy three and a half acres of twelve inches deep, and I will enjoy the HECK out of being able to get OUT!!! I have a great play system your son will love. :flower3: My son thought it was really cool to plow down twelve inches of snow on the slide. Once or twice. Then it dawned on him that trying to walk in a foot of snow when you are only three feet tall is really tiring.

We had a couple of inches of new snow last night. Just got an auto-email from Eastern Wa. Univeristy. My DS is supposed to start his winter quarter on Monday but it looks like they are cancelling classes.

i just sent you a p.m. on this. dh was out there yesterday and said the parking lots are insane with snow. the city of cheney is under a state of emergency and noone can figure out where to put the snow that can be plowed out of parking lots and off the streets.

we lucked out and went to the walmart in airway heights the day before they closed down due to roof collapse issues. our roof is looking o.k. but i was talking to my cpa who lives near us-she has a log home with a slanted roof but sections including the one over her deck adjacent to her great room are flat. last week she and dh heard what sounded like gun shots in the house and ran into the great room to see that snow had slid off the main roof onto the deck roof which resulted in the entire deck being sheared off the house:scared1: fortunatly it did no damage to the house.

i called my kid's school to see if they are planning on holding classes monday-no word yet, as well as the public school we are zoned for (my kids ride the public school bus to their private school)-they are waiting to see what sunday evening into early monday's storm is like.

I can't believe the winter you all are having! I grew up in Kennewick (Tri-Cities) and don't remember any winter being this bad!

And in only 6 short months the temperature will be 110....at least on the east side!

Update: as of 5 pm last night, we are trash free :lmao: However, we're still waiting on a package from UPS which is now over a week behind schedule.

Yay for being garbage free!

I forgot to mention on here that a friend of mine who works for the school district grounds department told me that the roof of the old gym at my kids' school collapsed. It wasn't used by the school anymore except for storage, but it was used by the YMCA daycare program, so they don't know what they are going to do now.

I'm still waiting on a package from UPS (something I bought at WDW and had shipped) as well, and as far as I know, one of my Christmas presents from my parents has not arrived yet either, but has been sitting in Renton for two weeks now.
