Does anyone have any idea if they have an excusion you can do on your own in GC for a 4 year old and a 6 year old..we would like to take them on an excusion together like on a boat or snorkle type but Disney only states 6 or older..would like to take both of them..any places that you have used in GC on your own..? any suggestions will be greatly accepted..TIA Marianne

Check out Captain Marvins at

http://www.captainmarvins.com/

We used them on our western cruise last May and they wre wonderful. Easy to find, cheaper than Disney and the guides were fantastic. DS-5 loved snorkeling and feeding the sting rays.

We also used Capt Marvins on our cruise in May. We have 4 year old twins and they loved feeding the stingrays. I would recommend them.

I have the same problem - none of the DCL excursions will allow my 4 year old to go (boat/snorkeling excursions). I thought about Capt Marvins, but we have no desire to do Stingray City. I just noticed on their website that they have "Wreck and Reef" snorkeling trips that are nice and short and don't go to stingray city. Has anyone ever done these?

Bunny, how are you doing? If you recall, we cruised together on the Magic last Novemeber. When are you going on the Western this time?

I know of a FREE excursion on GC. When you get off of the dock take a right. A very short walk to Abanks dive shop. There is a little beach area, some great snorkeling and a little eatery.
If you have your own snorkel gear it you can use it. If you want to use thier chairs they will charge you unless you order drinks from them. My 9 and 11 yo dive a 40 ft discover scuba course with them and that cost money but they are great there and if you just want to snorkel from the shore this is so close to the ship you can tender back for lunch!

Wow! Thanks for the info on GC snorkeling. I had read about the Abanks place, but for some reason, I got the impression that there was no beach there - I thought it said there was a "seawall" type of thing that you had to climb down a ladder or rocky area to get in the water. If there is a beach area there, this would be perfect! It is so nice to get all this info first hand from people who have done it! Thanks!

The beach there is very small and there are rocks all around. But to get in the water there are steps not a ladder. There were alot of familys with little kids snorkeling there when we were there.
