Right!!

I have today put in request to move our May 09 cruise ressie to the Sept 12th 09 cruise, and also to book the following cruise 19th Sept.:cool1: :cool1:

This means we will be visiting the West coast area in May/June next year.

Boy am I excited. Plenty of planning opportunities there, particularly with the west trip. Trouble is I want to do so much in the 4 weeks. DL and SF will be a defo. A trip further north would be lovely too. Also would love to do San diego, but it seems the wrong time to visit here.

Cherie, we might get to Phoenix too. We would like to do the Grand Canyon again.

Will dance again when the cruises are booked.

What a lovely news and bet another disboards will be dancing for you!!party:

It is good to see Deb and other again.;)

I am :furious: but please take me ::yes:: ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Anyway, my friend Jennifer48 emailed me that she and Dan are going on that Cruise. (I met her through our first time Cruise at Wonder)

I told her now now dont make me JEALOUS:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

She said she is looking forward to PINK CHAMPAGNE

Deborah, I wish you could be there too but it is a bad time for taking children off school.:worried:

You will have a brilliant time on your October cruise, and less chance of hurricanes, which still worry us.

Don't worry we will change the dates when we hear what is on for 2010. We will change to summer holiday for 2010. Wait and see until this Xmas or announcement for 2010.:thumbsup2

Ian- Congratulations!!! I expect pics.

It going to be a busy week. I have to work 7-3:30 everyday, finish my swaps, finish lanudry and cleaning, and pack. I leave Sat. morning at 5am for the beach. So I won't be online much this week. My mom is helping with the swaps, since work wears me out so much. Oh and DH and I still need to go out for our anniversary which was today.

Today was great and I tried a new food. DH's family is always eating different types of food. Today we met them at the lake for a cookout. I don't like hamburgers but had to eat one. I thought it tasted strange but finished it anyway. As we were leaving DH informs that if was a DEER BURGER!!!! EWWWWW, I don't care if others eat deer but I don't want too!!! From now on when I eat with them I want to see the packaging as they have tried to feed me deer before too. Oh and a butterfly attacked me and my mother-in-law had to save me.(It was a huge butterfly). And of coarse coming home we got lost. Saw losts of goats and cows though. I don't think I can have an uneventful day. Oh and this morning I fell off the bed onto my head!! I need a vacation!:rotfl2:

So, Matt's family was serving up Bambi on the barbie? Were they also eating Thumper burgers by any chance?

Happy Birthday Gaylean!

I think that Monica asked me, and I forgot to respond.

Dad is doing as well as can be expected - no worse, but no better. He has lots of trouble walking.

Manuel just was moved on Friday to a transitional rehabilitation facility. It is all uphill for him now to get stronger and recover. This week I expect they will get him on his feet. I may have said this before, but he told me to tell all of you (when I told him about this board) thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes.

I am as determined as I have ever been on the job front. I have sent my resume and applied for several positions in the area. I am about as unhappy as I have ever been in my job - for many, many, reasons. I probably should have been this proactive when I first mentioned this probably about a year ago. To be honest, one of my fears was an employer not wanting someone who would be gone for 19 days in May!

Now that is over, and I can be more serious. For the first time in 18 years we are not spending a week at the beach at the OBX. Really makes me sad, but between the time with Manuel, the cruise, and some financial issues at work, it was the right decision. Of course, Sophia is going with Grandma and her aunts. They leave this Friday - I will be in Columbus.

I was chosen to be on the governor's committee for excellence in education from this area. Found out I was the only school board member chosen from our county. It is a three day meeting to discuss ways to improve education in Ohio.

John, so glad to hear the news about your brother. He still has a hard road to go but after all the bad news on this thread lately it is nice to hear some good.

Oh, and weather, you could not have asked for a better day in Ohio. About 80, low humidity, and pleasant. After dinner Sophia and I went for a 90 minute bike ride. Since she was doing so well riding, she got a new bike. A 24 inch beautiful purple Trek girl's bike from the local bike shop in town. It is a 21 speed, and she is learning gears and using handbrakes now.

As I sit here on the porch and type tonight, she is still riding back and forth on our street. She has really found a love for riding (Alex never wanted to) and it is great to share that with her because I LOVED my bike when I was a kid, and really still enjoy riding.

Oh for those days.

I'm not sure if anybody remembers me mentioning my friend Lisa who was diagnosed with leukemia right before our cruise. I went with another friend to go visit her during chemo. She was to be in the hospital for 3 weeks, and was to leave the hospital the week our cruise ended, unless test results at that time showed that they'd need to do a bone marrow transplant. I had been trying to call her now and then since we've been home. When I called the hospital they told me she was no longer there, so I'd assumed she was at home, just too tired with recovering to return phone calls. Well, her mom is returning calls from Lisa's voice mail because she died May 25th, just 3 days after her 36th birthday. She never made it through the 3 weeks in the hospital. I'm very sad for her 18 year old daughter because they were so close, more like best friends than mother & daughter. :( :worried: It's quite shocking how fast it happened.....much like Marilyn's neighbor. Unbelievably sad.

Holly, I am so sorry to hear this. There seams to be a lot of this going around. Too much as far as I am concerned. :(

About the Shutter's PC picture. Yes i though it might be the 2005 one, but actually it does look like a photo from land not a helicopter, and John thought the photographers went off somewhere. I know what I am going to believe anyway!!!:rotfl2: I'm just to the left of centre at the front!:lmao:

very sad and know what her daughter's feeling. :( (Holly I lost my mum when I was 18 years old) My though for her.

I don't think it was 2005 because I see orange on land? I think someone took the photo like two staff men came out of the ship and took photos of us at Balcony.

Tink rules

I email you okay.

Scottishwee35

What we don't know won't hurt us and I think someone posted a picture from one of the web cams that looked just like this one so I believe along with you! :thumbsup2

Marilyn, I am so jealous. I can honestly say that I am not quite ready to take another cruise just yet but I would love  for the opportunity to see all of you again. I think I need a WDW before I go on another cruise. Have been on two cruises now without being there.

So, Matt's family was serving up Bambi on the barbie? Were they also eating Thumper burgers by any chance?

Ian, how mean. :( ::yes::

Carol

Carol, I know what you mean about WDW. I was originally planning 21 days at WDW for next May, and was hesitant to give that up as I loved the 3 days we had there this last May. Being at WDW means we can be big kids without our friends and family seeing us!!!:rotfl2:

We have our December trip, but the weather can be a little changeable.

Next year's trips are our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. To be honest we are better together on holiday than when John is back at work as he is more stressed. Having your own business has fors and againsts.

Thanks Monica.....we had a really nice day everyone had fun and enjoyed being together.......that's the best.

This is the day that my mom was waiting for and she didn't make it. She wanted to see the kids graduate and become young men in their lives. My brother said that he knew she was with us today.......or as a wise little one named Alex would say.......they are angels sitting on our shoulders.

Deb - I KNOW your mother was with you.....she's always watching.

I found this photo on a trip report on another board. Did anyone see/buy this at Shutters? If I had known it was available, I would have bought one!

magic_214.jpg

We saw it and got one. Sorry you missed it.
Have you a link to that Trip report?

Jan :earsgirl:

His favorite photo op though, was with Brent. He found out Brent is from Ararat Australia . . . no the Ark did NOT land there . . .

It looks like Brent is laughing way too much! I wonder if he was a little embarrassed? :confused3

Does anyone know if it's possible to order photos after your cruise is over? I'd really like to have that one! It'd probably cost an arm and leg!

Maybe someone could scan it and you could pring it out yourself? My computer does not have enough memory to let the scanner work or I would try it. Or, how is the quality if you copy it from a post and print it out? If it is too grainy in 8 x 10 it still might look good as a 5 x 7 or smaller for a scrapbook page.

Jan :earsgirl:

Ian congrats to you and Sukie on the upcoming wedding - please post pics!

John1 - Hpapy Birthday!

Nan - hope your headache goes away.

We had a great lazy day by the pool. I finished the first in the Left Behind series and am now on to the second. Also did a quiz in my HR class. Fun stuff!

I hope you enjoy reading them. We did.

Jan :earsgirl:

We got it. If you find you can't get it I can scan it and make a glossy 8X10 to send you. If the rumors of them having to cancel the helicopter were right this is probably from 2005 with our dates on it. It doesn't matter, it is still our Magic. ::yes::  Because of this, though, someone may be able to get you one. Carol

This picture matches one of the still shots from the web cams (tug boat positions and all) friends got for us all.

I asked one of the Shutters photographers how they got the photos since the helicopter was canceled and he said he was not at liberty to say. :confused3 That makes me wonder if he made special arrangements to go off the canal property and get a driver to parallel our progress and then get back on at the other end at the locks or with the boat that brings the pilots back.

On cmash95's trip report, in the photos, her son has one photo showing the pilot boat and has labeled it that it is bringing the photographer back and picking up the pilots.

:goodvibes All that to say, I am convinced that is US!:thumbsup2

Back from another Sunday morning of leading WW meetings. Crowds were a bit lighter this morning, I think because there was a heavy rainstorm some time while I was in leading meetings.

The twin of Jackie showed up again and I did a double take, just as I did last time.

I weighed myself this morning and I am down 1 pound, which is right on target. I had committed to myself that I would lose 1 pound a week (that's a bit under .5 Kg for our metric friends).

I also realized this morning that ... I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEK.

:lovestruc When are you going to be in Canada?
