To get to the front of every line I saw her in. She seems to have left a lasting impression on quite a few people.

I had to save Molly from being run over by her once in Shutters. The nerve of some people just makes me sad :worried: She also was on the Aruba tour with us. Our bus waited for her to reboard after shopping too. She had us all waiting 5-10 minutes.

I just realized yesterday I didn't take a picture of my stateroom door or my FE. At least I can take one of my FE now, so I'll have it for posterity.

Need to call DCL and get my Tortula cruise room assignment changed....seems there are still some sideways Cat 11's. If I make that cruise, I'd like to try one. KATYPOP....call and see if you can move your deck 5 sideways up to deck 6 with Cheri & I (port side)....unless that conflicts with you being able to keep the same room for your back-to-back, of course!

.

Blow off that cruise and join us on the Eastern Repo. Sounds like you had a great time.

A reliable source :rotfl2: :lmao: (CM) at DL said that the Fantasy and/or the Dream will be going to Hawaii. :thumbsup2

Don't you just LOVE those reliable sources???

I wish some of them would just post to say hi. I know people are all different and some don't need to keep chatting, and some might just feel a little too sad to post too. Who knows.:confused3

It seems like I will never get everything put away after this vacation!!:lmao:

Can't believe Scooter Lady!

We were sitting in DL waiting for the firworks, lucky to have a seat I think. A young man, probably early 20's was next to us in a wheelchair, guarding shopping and a seat. He was doing wheelies so as he had already been chatting to us after hearing our accent(telling us they were on their honeymoon), John mentioned his skills with the chair. During his answer he said he was so glad he wasn't in one all the time, to which I asked if he had had an accident. He said they had only hired it that day as their FEET HURT!!! They had pushed each other around all day.:confused3 They were a healthy young couple.

I just mentioned her to mom... I think she almost got run over too... and MY rant is that I think that there are too many able people who just think that they can rent wheelchairs and scooters and run around with them and it makes it so much harder for those who actually definately need them. We are a lazy society these days and SPOILED too... Although I told mom after I wore her out at DLR that if she needed one next time, she could get a scooter and run over my feet anytime... :moped: she told me where to go with THAT idea!!! :rotfl2:

<rant>

OK, I am going to go into a rant about scooters and wheelchairs and people who abuse them when they really should be getting more exercise and moving their tuchases rather than sitting on them.

I lived through the trauma of taking care of my father as he had more and more pieces of his legs amputated.

When he first lost part of his foot, he was determined to stand on his own two feet (literally) and walk (though with the aid of a walker). He was 86 and determined to be mobile on his own. He then had his leg amputated and learned to walk with a prosthetic limb, which I might add, he achieved. He then lost his other leg and finally became wheelchair bound, needing care for nearly everything.

It crushed his pride and frustrated him.

I get really annoyed when people abuse and electric scooters due to laziness, or abuse of rules.

</rant>

OK now for the part that isn't a rant, a couple of stories, now that I'm on the topic of my father. For those of you who met me, you might notice from the following that a rather bizarre sense of humor runs in the family.

[warning, if you're queasy do not read on]

I was with my father in the hospital when he was waiting for the operation to amputate his first leg. The nurse came in with forms for him to sign. He asked the nurse what the forms were for. She told him it was for disposal of the leg. He told the nurse that he wanted the leg back after the operation. She asked him why. My father told the nurse he wanted to make it into a lamp. Both my father and I cracked up as the nurse looked at us in horror.

Next story.

I took my father to a restaurant. We were waiting to get in, and a little kid was staring at my father and asked him what happened to his legs. My father smiled and said, "I was absent minded and forgot them on the bus."

OH... and they were wondering what dinner was like at our table everynight!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I remember, she kept us waiting and then when the bus driver finally found her, she ran to the bus carrying all her purchases. She also tried to run Bubba down at the aloe factory. And she wasn't even in her chair at the time.
She would plow people over with the chair or on foot:scared1: :moped:

Ok everyone...

May we all bow our heads and offer a moment of silence...

After being away from it for over 3 weeks....

Our Beloved Refridgerator has decided to bite the big one...

Visiting hours at the dump will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Oh Crap.. I have to go grocery shopping" fund, the "Man is that garbage guy going to get a hernia lifting this can tomorrow" fund or the "Lets all send Planky to Harvard" educational scholarship.

HA! I keep seeing the lamp from A Christmas Story on display in the front window of the house! :rotfl2:

sorry to hear about the fridge Michelle!!

If DCL goes to Hawaii or Alaska we'll be there or another repo. John has said no way will he do another line - not sure why, he has only been on DCL. Royal C goes out of Tampa and we could easily do a weekend trip.

My friend I send you all my sympathy and not a penny more :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have this feeling we will see each other again on another cruise, even if we don't plan it. I would love to book again with as many people as possible, I just can't do it that soon. The saddest part for me is the friends I made. I know we will never ALL be together again. But like I said earlier, maybe you will make new friends, on the new cruise, that you are sad to say good bye to. The thread is slow and some of the people I wanted to keep in touch with just never posted after the cruise.

NEVER SAY NEVER!

Yes, I had them add a couple things into the IEP that day. I'm thrilled with all the extra help he'll be getting and am very happy for him that he'll be starting off next year with help. The special ed teacher already showed him her room and explained to him why he'll be coming there, etc. He feels pretty good about it because he knows he'll be getting help. :thumbsup2 And I'll be happy about not getting the daily phone calls. Summer will be rough though because it's a different building, not as structured as school, new kids & teachers, etc. But his current K teacher is going to talk to the teachers of the summer program and explain everything they'll need to know, including techniques she's found that work, so that should help. :goodvibes

Holly,

This is wonderful! Again - heading in the right direction. I know this is a relief for both of you. Any news on new/recent/up coming appts?

This really bothers me.....I wish there were a way that all parks (including non WDW parks) could do something to only allow those who need a wheelchair get one.

I have rented ECV's at WDW several times (and manual wheelchair 1x when I had someone to push me around)...and have had MANY people give me bad looks....probably cuz I "look" ok....I've felt like I should put a sign on the back stating "I've had 2 knee surgeries and still waiting for nbr 3 so leave me alone".

We are headed to Eugene this fall to see the best football team in the Northwest play against Boise State - please keep the rain away for us.

I did not know the Beavs were playing Boise State this year....and in Eugene?? That makes no sense. :rolleyes1 Sorry, could not resist! :rotfl: :lmao:

Hello Everybody

The weather is miserable here:mad: still have pile of washings!!

I feel tired this morning and went back to bed and got up now. Must be jetlag!!

I put kids to bed last night at 9 pm, kids got confused *** it was light here at 9 pm!! They got up at 1 o clock in the morning!! I put them back in the bed and explained about different times in USA.

They went to school this morning and I feel no energy now. I wonder just me or same everybody else?

Anyway, we had booked the bummer dates for 2009 but we will forward it to 2010. We booked for 24 Oct 09 for 7 days Disney Cruise.

I am afraid that we cannot make it on Sept 09 as we love to come along but kids cannot get off school. We wait and see what is 2010? Hopeful it is North Europe as Brent spoked us and he is hoping and cannot guarantee so wait and see.

My husband start new job today and his parent came over last night as they missed our kids.

Olivia is going to densist today with Ian's dad to get laser her front chip teeth.

I better move on as I still in my pyjmas

Have not upload my camera yet!! Will do it this week or weekend.

Marilyn

Love the photos of Pink Champagne and I cannot open my password in the dibb:confused3 I send twice emails so hopeful get my new password.

Glad to hear you all made it home safely.

It was great meeting you and your family. We had nice time hanging out in the Radisson pool with you, Olivia, and Allison - perfect start to our awesome vacation :thumbsup2

I really need to deep clean my house! Dust all over! And the window blinds are filthy, as well as the windows. Chuck power washed the pool deck and I pulled weeds in my garden.

When you're done yours can you come help with mine???!!!

Did you go to the Rio for the buffet? It is like $35.00 to $50.00 depending on the day of the week, the time of the day and if you get the seafood or not. Totally worth every penny. That being said, the last three or four times we went to Vegas we spent too much and everything is just way too expensive. The drinks at most of the bars were $11.00 and a lot more if you get table service and most of the clubs only have that. We went three weekends in one year because of birthday parties. We could have booked another cruise with as much as we spent and we don't gamble.

Love Sunday Brunch at the Rio!!!

Hawaii, we are there in a heart beat....my other favorite place to be besides WDW. Alaska, would probably do, just because it is DCL, but brrrrr...when I think cruising, I think sunny and tropical.

We're still not recovered from our 22 days of pure heaven. Think we still have a couple of suitcases left to unpack and 3 huge mounds of laundry (and we did it on board ship and at HoJos....)

I am sorry we did not meet more of you on the cruise, we sure saw a lot of the lanyards around..

Highlights....Panama canal day, Liam's Oceaneer lab Talent show (he was the opening act) and those afternoons in the Cove Cafe with Nancy

Low Lights......always running into Scooter Lady as she rammed her way into the front of every line we were in (literally....and then discovering that she could get around just fine without it, as evidenced by her shopping prowness on two feet), the cliff divers excursion at Acapulco...too hot and far too long

We saw her run into a guest in the art section!!! And told the person it was their fault. They were standing and looking at the Desperate Shipmates picture and never even saw her coming!!!
