I don't have any plans yet. I want to wait to see what is happening in 2010. I don't want to take the kids out of school every year. The teachers thought I was crazy this time. I am sad though and I think going in September and October would help. Ethan would be in forth grade then so it will be harder. Plus this trip was at the end of the year so I didn't feel AS guilty. If I were you, I would be planning away. I know it is too soon. Plus you can't forget us :furious:

Hello Gaylean

I won't forget you as you seem a lovely bubble girl/lady :thumbsup2

You seem had a lots of fun.

I have this feeling we will see each other again on another cruise, even if we don't plan it. I would love to book again with as many people as possible, I just can't do it that soon. The saddest part for me is the friends I made. I know we will never ALL be together again. But like I said earlier, maybe you will make new friends, on the new cruise, that you are sad to say good bye to. The thread is slow and some of the people I wanted to keep in touch with just never posted after the cruise.

me, too, I would love to book again and join in with you and another but trouble that I cannot take our kids off in Sept :worried: becasue I have been told off for took the kids out of school for Panama Canal and they told me not to do it again in future:scared1:

I have been booking for Oct 09 but want it for 2010 or wait and see what is it on. but school holiday is one week in oct so decide to take another week off.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

We're still not recovered from our 22 days of pure heaven. Think we still have a couple of suitcases left to unpack and 3 huge mounds of laundry (and we did it on board ship and at HoJos....)

I am sorry we did not meet more of you on the cruise, we sure saw a lot of the lanyards around..

Highlights....Panama canal day, Liam's Oceaneer lab Talent show (he was the opening act) and those afternoons in the Cove Cafe with Nancy

Low Lights......always running into Scooter Lady as she rammed her way into the front of every line we were in (literally....and then discovering that she could get around just fine without it, as evidenced by her shopping prowness on two feet), the cliff divers excursion at Acapulco...too hot and far too long

Me too, I have two cases unopened and I still feel tired and feel dizzy too. My mother in law was here few hours ago and she was exciting to tellme that her husband got a new car!! lovely and she saw my cases unopened,, she offer me to help washing. I refused but she said bring stuff over this weekend. I said okay *** the weather was raining today. I stuck with it. I like sunny day etc as she said it will be raining all this week. Huh I thought I bring LA/Orlando sunny over here.:confused3

Any my low points on the Cruise was some dis people avoided us as we thought that not our fault for being disability but as their problems not our as we were happy on the Cruise and glad to had two interpreters made us laugh too. No need for some people walked past us without saying hello etc.

anyway, some lovely usa and calofornia people are lovely too. Shame that I have not met more disboards, think I missed some.

I wouldn't worry either. I just don't want to do it every year for two weeks. We always take them out a day or two here and there. I wouldn't hesitate to take them out again for two weeks, just not next year. This was the end of the year for us so they had already finished their math books and everything else was review. The Sept and Oct cruises are right after school starts so that is harder.

Hey, maybe we meet up in Oct on Cruise, that would be nice:thumbsup2

Well, call me bad mom of the year! I have taken Jaide out of school 2-3 weeks every year for our trips. It is not that I don't have respect and understanding for her elementary education, but I think she has gotten so much more from our vacations.....We would come home with all of her homework done and she would usually sit for the first week back because she was now ahead of her class. This next year is my last year in elementary school and I fear that our school year vacations will be over in 2009/2010 :(

I don't think you are bad mom, you just like me take the kids out of school and made the kids enjoyable times.:thumbsup2

Sorry some folk avoided you Deborah.:sad2: You were loads of fun to chat to.

I missed meeting quite a few Disers too. Shame.

I thought your interpreters were great. I only saw them twice as we were at different meal times and therefore shows, but I watched them rather than the show!!!::yes:: Their animated interpreting must make a difference.

Deborah, how did Olivia's appointment go at the dentist?

GREAT, Olivia got the laser and got it fixed it but densist said it will break off in future. Oh well, glad that I was clam on the Cruise.

Can't believe Scooter Lady!

We were sitting in DL waiting for the firworks, lucky to have a seat I think. A young man, probably early 20's was next to us in a wheelchair, guarding shopping and a seat. He was doing wheelies so as he had already been chatting to us after hearing our accent(telling us they were on their honeymoon), John mentioned his skills with the chair. During his answer he said he was so glad he wasn't in one all the time, to which I asked if he had had an accident. He said they had only hired it that day as their FEET HURT!!! They had pushed each other around all day.:confused3 They were a healthy young couple.

This is why Disney has had to "get tough" with the rules for special disability access! They used to run out of rental wheelchairs because of people like that! AND that means the viewing areas for the disabled fill up so quickly......people in wheelchairs really DO have a hard time seeing a show through somebody's rear end!

Also.....the SCOOTER LADY!!!!! I think she and her friend were in the accesible room next to ours......sometimes she would leave her scooter outside her door, and we couldn't get into our room! :furious:
She bought so much stuff on the ship!
The accidenetally delivered about 10 bags of stuff to our room, and my husband actually accepted it, thinking I had bought it!

I think our table mates had two bad experiances with the Scooter lady, first they caught her taking free art at the actions and then she went diving and was climbing laders with no help. They wondered why she needed that scooter.

I watched them more than the shows and boy could he dance!

I enjoyed them as well. At one of the adult shows, I can't remember which one, the performer was having fun with them as well....it was pretty funny and totally added to the show!

Sorry you experienced that through the cruise Deborah. I enjoyed meeting you all! I especially like playing bunco with Ian.

By the way, totally forgot, LISA.....THANK YOU FOR PUTTING ON A GREAT BUNCO EVENT!!!!!! It was a lot of fun and probably a time where I got to meet the most DISers since I didn't make it to most of the events due to kiddos.

You could have had a good sale on Ebay!:lmao:

I was at WDW last year and a woman in a scooter was leaving the Lights!Motor etc show and ran over some woman's foot and then turned and told her to watch where she was going because she had the right away due to her scooter. The woman crumpled to the ground and I had to run and get help (her foot was broken) and the scooter woman was telling her suck it up and that was what you get for crowding around a scooter. I was so disgusted with that woman....when huge crowds like that are involved, you just have to more careful. Some people have no care for others which is just so sad.......

So, I can't bring myself to clear out my signature area....there will be nothing to fill it and it would look so pathetic, so I am keeping my sailed! for a long time!!!

Did you go to the Rio for the buffet? It is like $35.00 to $50.00 depending on the day of the week, the time of the day and if you get the seafood or not. Totally worth every penny. That being said, the last three or four times we went to Vegas we spent too much and everything is just way too expensive. The drinks at most of the bars were $11.00 and a lot more if you get table service and most of the clubs only have that. We went three weekends in one year because of birthday parties. We could have booked another cruise with as much as we spent and we don't gamble.

Las Vegas is nothing like it used to be. You used to be able to eat for practically nothing but now you pay more than most other places. They used to think that getting your money through gambling was enough, now they want it all.

I've been very tired since I've been home, WHY???? I just got back from a relaxing 3 week vacation? I guess I need a vacation to rest up from my vacation.

I liked the trans Atlantic trip better. But I REALLY want to go to Hawaii, I wonder if Disney will have a trip going there?

I have found myself very tired since I have been home. Also, I have found that my memory stinks. Kind of like everything I knew before I left was wiped out while I was gone.

I hope Disney does go to Hawaii. Would love to go there again.

I found that a lot of the people wearing Dis lanyards wouldn't bother to speak either. Why be a part of a group if you aren't going to be a part of it?

Oh we loved the interpreters!! It was so much fun watching them! :thumbsup2

Loved the interpreters too!! Went to an outdoor musical once where there was a bus load of deaf. They had two interpreters for the musical. I ended up watching them more than the play.

I'm sorry you think some people avoided you......WE certaily didn't.....it seemed like we were running in the same circles all the time.....I was just thrilled to meet you and your hubby and your adorable kids!

I know there are so many DIS-ers I did meet, but I got so confused with DIS names and REAL names, and I always forgot the real names......I finally gave up and just had a good timewith whomever I was with!

I want to say how much we have enjoyed our FISH EXTENDER GIFTS!

So many of you are creative! Each day we would look in our pockets to see what treasures we have! Still using the chapstick....who ever thought of that? And the candy....mmmmmmm! And the CD's......and the glowsticks! And the tissues.....and tattos and stickers and more candy! And See's butterscotch lollypops! And Mexican sugar candy! And the cool neck wraps! There are more, but I am sure I have forgotten!

It was so much fun to go to the pajama party, sorry I missed the luncheon. EVERYTHING was fun!

I think I know who you and cquick talked about as I saw her come off the scooter to get the photo with pluto as she seem walking okay.:confused3

Cquick - you should keep 10 bags ::yes:: ::yes:: hee hee :stir:

Oh, my, that's terrible.....why is it that as soon as somebody gets into a scooter, they lose all courtesy?

I will say, it's sometimes funny, though, because people just don't see a wheelchair! Especially teenagers! I can't count how many times a teenager has landed in Patrick's lap because he or she has simply walked right into him! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
