I would definitely agree to keep calling to see if there's any cancellations for your dates. Moving around to different hotels while you're here isn't fun, but its really the best way to see the whole park. Let me know if you have any questions

Thank you for all the replies and suggestions. We will probably only have two or three days to sight see Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I know that isn't much, but a few days is better than no days there .

We're hoping some friends who live in Idaho will be our tour guide as they go to the parks often. However, they don't usually spend nights there.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Kelly Inn? I've been reading trip advisor reports for West Yellowstone lodging. I've eliminated ones that are pet friendly (I have bad allergies to cats and dogs), have small bathrooms, mad musty reviews, etc. We are not campers.

I wished Old Faithful Lodge was available since we do enjoy Disney's Wilderness Lodge, but it is not available.

We went six years ago.

In Jackson Hole we stayed at the Painted Buffalo Inn. It was great and within walking distance to all the shops/restaurants/elk antler arch.

In Gardiner we stayed at the Super 8. It was pretty basic by clean and comfortable. I thought that Gardiner looked a little tired and worn out. Couldnt hold a candle to Jackson Hole. I was glad when we pulled into the Super 8, because it looked MUCH better than some of the other places around.

Consider flying in to SLC, you'll be 5 hours from W Yellowstone. We visited Yellowstone & Grand Teton NPs last early Aug. We stayed in W Yellowstone and stayed *here*

Or know a member, we often stay *using my dad's account, without my dad - he books it in my name* at one of the 3 that are within 90 minutes of my home; Wolf Creek *15 minutes from home, Bear Lake, Midway, $45 per night for a 2 bedroom! Perhaps they know a member, I'm sure one could buy nights on ebay.
