Hi, I'm looking into airfare and pre-cruise plans for our cruise in July. I think we may need to take out a second mortgage if we do both Disneyland and the Cruise! What are some of you doing before or after the cruise?
We're spending a week in So. Cal before our cruise. We're staying 4 nights at the Grand Californian at DL and 3 nights at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego!!!!
We are going to Disneyland for 3 days prior to the Cruise. We have to get our Disneyland fix (it will have been 18 very long months since our last visit to Disneyland) and since we are going to be in the area, we are going to go. We are staying in the Paradise Pier Hotel instead of our normal Grand Californian so that we have extra money to spend on the Cruise. Plus, apparently the parks are going to be all decked out for the 50th so it will be a must see. Afterall it only happens once.
We are flying in the day before the cruise and will be staying at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim for three nigths after the cruise. Did you book your air? I think everyone is booked by now. I wonder if the prices are still holding - has anyone checked recently?
Since we reside in So. Cal...we are simply "driving" to the port of Los Angeles and boarding the Disney MAGIC for our West Coast Cruise!! (Loong been a dream of ours, after years of having to FLY to Fla. for past Disney cruises!). Afterward, we return home for a few days before heading to WDW & USO/IOA...and DVB for a two~month summer visit!
I had the Disneyland rep on my newscast this morning. Yes, they plan lots of special stuff.
I also have priced a DL trip on the DL website. 3 nights, at a "Good Neighbor Hotel" with admissions for 4 (DS is 18 now, so this is now 3 adults and 1 child), $1060.
If we want the Grand Californian it's $1650. DW dearly wants the Grand Californian.
Did anyone get the Palo recipe for chocolate souffle yesterday? Very cute, it promised a Pirate Deck Party and I showed my boys so I hope we have it on the West Coast cruises! Disney really has nice touches don't they? I was actually debating cancelling and cruising out of NY instead. We could have saved $2,000 plus airfare for a better room! But, we actually decided that no one does families better than Disney and while the kids are young . .
We are doing a 3-night stay at the DLH before our 7/17/05 cruise. We would like to do Universal while we are there too. I don't know if that will work though because we are not renting a car. We bought Disney transfers. I am worried that with it being the actual DL birthday weekend, the parks might be really crowded (or even sold out). We like doing the parks first so we can relax on the cruise afterwards.
