Were you happy with your Memory Maker Photos?

I went back and checked my Disney info from 2013 and that is exactly what I got. And is it still the same time limit to download the pictures once you get home?

The pictures expire 45 days from when they were taken. Once you do your first download, you can then download as many as you wish over the next 30 days. However, the pictures still expire at the 45 days, doing the download doesn't extend them at all.

We were really happy with our photos. The photo of my son meeting Elsa for the first time was priceless! I will never forget that memory. He was so talkitive in line and couldn't wait to meet Elsa. Then he gets in there and he was speechless! I seriously have never seen my son speechless. He gave Elsa this huge hug and I didn't think he was ever going to let her go lol. Anyways for the amount u pay for it it's totally worth it. We had over 70 pictures last year and to bye those pictures separately it use to be like $10 a picture. Totally worth it to me!image.jpg

We have always been happy with our Photopass photos. We have been using the service for years. We have one on our wall that was blown up to a 16 x 20 canvas, and it looks great. We wouldn't do Disney without Memory Maker. The ride photos and videos are great!

I don't think that's quite right. The way I'm reading it, after you do your first download, you then have 30 days to add more pictures to your account. You can then download them as many times as you want until they expire, which is 45 days after they were taken. This is what I'm basing it on:

The video of my husband being a complete nerd on tower of terror because "it was dark and he didn't think anyone could see" was completely worth the cost for me lol. ah, still makes me laugh hehe.

We had over 300 photos I believe - We've never encountered a line (maybe a one person wait) for a photographer so when I see one I usually just stop! Some didn't turn out (for some reason we always have issues with the night pics in front of spaceship earth at epcot being blurry) but we have a bunch of other ones in that spot on different days/times of our trip so its fine. The vast majority of the the photos turned out well. I love our family and trip photos (even the bad ones) so want them all thus making it worth it to me even at the increased price.

I think it depends on the family. The memory maker photos overall were not as good as the photos I took, but I'm an experienced photographer with some good equipment, and I do't mind carrying my camera in the park. In fact taking pictures on my trip is part of the fun of vacation for me. If you don't enjoy taking pictures or want to travel light, it may be well worth it. The MM photos typically weren't well composed and relied on heavy use of fill flash, so they're not something I would hang on my wall, but they did the job of recording our trip.

I do think it's fun that MM offers video now. They started this just before our last trip and we got video from ToT. I was able to include a clip of that in my trip video. Also, there are photographers at the water parks. I took my DSLR camera there but didn't have it out a whole lot, so we got some shots I would not otherwise have gotten.

We split MM with another family that we travelled with, so for us at half price, we got some use out of it. But I probably won't use it again.

Just curious if the quality is the same with Memory Maker. We loved Photopass. Being able to leave my SLR at home and having everyone in the picture was so nice.

We didn't have any blurry shots. Everything turned out great. But I noticed the cost has gone up.

We have always been happy with our Photopass/Memory Maker photos - including those from our nov. 14 trip. There are always some shots that are less than great, but we always make sure to get multiple shots in locations that are really important to us (including on multiple days as well) so that there's less of a chance that we'll only have 1 photo of a location that just happened to be bad.

We had MM for our last two trip and for us the first time was more worth it than the second but that was just because, for the first trip, it was just my husband, my kids, and myself and we made a point of getting our picture taken wherever possible. On our second trip my parents were with us and my dad was always on a mission to get to wherever we were heading as fast as possible so it was harder to stop for a picture and we only ended up with approximately 80 photos. The MM was still a better deal than buying the photos individually and we don't have a nice camera (or any talent for taking pictures) so I think we will always get MM. Also, the short video of my DD on SDMT and the picture of the amazement my DS had on his face when he met Mickey for the first time were priceless and I wouldn't have had either without the MM.

We spent ages deciding whether to get MM for our first trip, as it was just the two of us... I'm so glad we did! Over 7 days we got 300 photos and only 4 were no good (smudges on the lens). We spent a week in NYC the previous year and don't have a single photo of the two of us together. MM was worth every penny.

Oh, and very useful for the day we split up to visit different parks. I did a few solo character meets without having to faff around handing over my phone!

Sounds like mostly thumbs up! Great to know because I hate the thought of carrying my expensive camera everywhere.

We'll definitely spend the money. Thanks everyone!

I just want to clarify that individual pictures can be purchased rather than buying the whole MM package. I only want a few pictures like one with Darth Vader and then Cinderella's castle covered in Christmas lights and maybe a couple others. So I could buy these individually, correct?

Also, I went to DW in December of 2014. I went into the MM part of the website to get information about the MM package for my upcoming trips in May and December. I found pictures of me on a couple of rides--Dinosaur and TOT. I didn't have MM so how did they get pictures of me on the rides attached to my account? At first I thought it was just stock pictures until I zoomed in and saw myself. I thought it was really strange to find them there. Is it somehow connected to my magic band?

1. Yes, you can buy individual pictures; they cost $15 each.

2. Yes, there's a sensor that detects your magic band.

I was extremely happy with what I got for what I paid for. The quality of the photos and the magical moments the PP CMs caught were fantastic. Definitely worth the money.

Does anyone have a complete list of which rides have video that I can get with my MM?

I don't have any past experiences to compare, but based on our first time using any Disney photo services,I was extremely pleased. We had 190 photos, plus photos the PP+ took with our camera. So nice to have an option like this so everyone can be in the pictures. 2 thumbs up!!

I will be using MM for the first time on my upcoming solo vacation. I usually was the "official photographer" on past family vacations, so wasn't in a lot of pictures (as my daughters pointed out). They suggested I purchase the MM, so that besides the wonderful memories I'll bring home, and the pics I'll be taking at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, I will also have some photos of me enjoying myself immensely :) !!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion of checking each days photos online so it will be easier for Disney to correct before its too late :)

Hope everyone enjoys their upcoming trips!!!

I've been happy with it. I've done it 3 times so far. I've decided to skip it on my next trip to save money. I figure I can just buy 3 or 4 of the best pics taken.
Plus I'll have my little selfie stick for my character meals.

It was just like the old way - sometimes you'd get great photographers and the pictures turned out wonderful, sometimes not.

Just wanted to point out to those who may not know that all MM photos can be edited. The PP website offers some editing tools, but you can also edit the photos on your favorite software once you get them home. (I know not everyone is adept at this, but most experienced photographers who are picky about photos are.)

I agree that composition is a big problem with the PP photos. However, they can usually be cropped into a nice frame.
