Were you happy that you rented a cabana at DC?

We are spending a day at DC in May, with our dd's who are 5 & 7. Trying to decide if it is worth the $175 to rent a cabana for the day. Are there other shady spots throughout the resort? Ample seating? Just wondering for those that have rented in the past, if you feel like it was worth it and if you would do it again. Thanks for any input!

To be honest we have been to Discovery Cove 3 times now, (last time being last Weds) I can't understand why people would rent them, there are so many loungers around the park with umbrellas, unless of course your kids will nap or something! There are some nice hammocks by the dolphin pool as well!
I have never rented one, but probably wouldn't, because our girls and ourselves never sit still long enough!

Hi,

We rented a cabana last year and found it to be totally worth it. It was our first time at DC and we were traveling with my 79 year old Mom, 2 teens and an 8 year old. The thought was that she would have a comfortable area to relax while the rest of us were out and about. It worked out wonderfully. She had a comfortable chair in the shade of the cabana with a great view of the reef area. She also had access to cold beverages and snacks as well an attendent who came around every so often to see if she could assist with anything. The cabana also has a locker and 2 lounge chairs. We all took turns 'checking in' and relaxing in the cabana. We are going again this year and have already rented it.

We rented one last year and loved it. We had a 1 1/2 year old and it was great having an area where didn't have to super wory about her running off toward the water. My mom also loved the personalized attention and it was great to have a quiet place to go and the bottled drinks we're nice as well as beer and wine as well.

We are returning this year and have reserved one again.
